Improved Map - Details / Markers / Waypoints / Reigon Boarders
I havn't seen anyone who posted this yet minus markers and such. However it would be nice to have a more detailed map. Maybe not as extensive as skyrim's live world map, but just more detailed so we can really make out nearby structures, biomes, and of course some color helps a lot. It isn't a huge request but i am sure it would really give a more pleasing invitation into the game to open the map and see things more clearly.

FreakasseeHaving roads show on the map would really help with navigation.

I get the exploration aspect of it, but blindly circling a hill/mountain to find the one path leading up to a specific location is frustrating -

Granpapi MergedHaving homes listed in the hud of the map screen would make traversing so much easier, especially later in the game when multiple homes are being built in different areas of the enormous map. Also labeling of homes and different icons possibly. Also, a shared map like the cartography table from Valheim for example would be a nice addition for late joining or scarcely playing friends.

NEMESISS2K5The world map needs a legend of some sort. I know a yellow dot/diamond means 'new'. Some map markers have 'green check marks' signaling they are done or all notable items collected.
1
What do the red and blue dots/diamonds mean?
How come Flame Sanctums when the flame is collected the do not have a 'green check mark' noting its been completed?
If a site has been visited but left early I feel it should have a blue or dark grey icon to indicate "still exploring" -

Samuel WadeRegion borders would be really useful, especially if you are trying to go for achievements. Sometimes it's hard to tell what flame shrines/sanctums/roots belong to what region, and this would be extremely helpful.

YouPwnLikeAGirl Mergedmy suggestion is once you climb the ancient spires they reveal the portion of the map that the spire specifically relates too as well as areas of the map showing what level they are so players don't stumble upon areas that are too high up.

Bob MergedAdd either an option or make it a feature that you can see where a biome start and end as it can be hard to search for something in revelwood for example and not being sure where it ends and springlands start or nomad highlands etc. The shroud got a different color so you know where it is on the map so it should not be too hard to at least add it as an option for people that want it.
Myself and my friend were looking for a tavern we wanted to renovate in revelwood the other day because it looked cool but we forgot to put a marker on it and it is not marked out on the map, all we knew was that it was in revelwood and it was a pain trying to fnd it running around all of revelwood while also not being sure where it starts and ends. -

HivemindJak MergedThe map in its current state is artistically beautiful. It does however have a few things missing or that need work;
1
○ Better Map Pins
- Custom Labeling (Text)
- More Colors
- More Icons (Caves, Materials, etc.)
○ Multiplayer Functionality
- Sharable Exploration (suggest craftable building for "write to map" interaction)
- Pings on map for co-ordination
○ Filters for Icon Types
- Shared Filter
- Type Filter
- Color Filter
- Text Filter/ Search Function for Labels
○ Map Modes
- Default (current mode)
- Terrain Mode (Shows fully rendered terrain with trees, buildings etc.)
- Material Mode (Shows discovered farmland, mineables, etc. as a colored blobs)
- Shroud Mode (Shows higher contrast shroud with shroud levels [maybe the light to dark based on pass level?])
○ Biome Borders
- Drawn Biome Borders
○ Mouse Hover (maybe 1,2sec delay on stopped cursor?)
- Shows Area Level
- Biome

Harry Read MergedHello there! I've been thinking about ways to improve the map exploration experience and I have an idea that I believe could be helpful.
What if we had the ability to draw on the map?
This could be a significant addition to the map exploration, as it would allow us to mark off specific areas of the map and draw routes or paths that we wish to explore later on.
It would be great to have a dropdown menu on the map that lets us choose a colour and even a font to draw on the map with.
I understand that there are many games that allow you to drop pins on the map and name them, which would also be great to have. However, I cannot recall any other games that let you draw on the map.
I believe that adding this feature would enhance the overall experience and make the map exploration even more interactive and exciting. -

Pařanoik MergedI think that map deserves more love. So, here is the list of what could be improved or changed:
4
- More personal marker icons and colors, the possibility to edit and move them, the possibility to add a text note
- Possibility to place a marker directly in-game (not map) to properly work with Z-axis
- Naming flame altars
- Filter (opt to hide certain types) + reset
- Fulltext search
- Possibility to mark "done" any marker manually (the same way it works for wells/roots automatically)
- Storing markers state (not marking them new after loading game)
- Display vector to actually selected marker like distance and height difference
- Waypoints/Path planning -

Inkubus MergedThe user interface of the map, put bluntly, is messy. A map that is hard to read is more or less, useless. There are a few major points I think can solve or alleviate this.
3
1. a Topographic map (Elevation-based terrain) for games can work they have a single layer. However, many locations in Enshrouded have MANY layers, both underground, above ground, and above terrain. A color-biome based map would make it far easier to see what is where.
2. The markers are a struggle to use. With so few icon/color options, its hard to remember what's what. I'd recommend allowing players to rename them.
3. Add roads. There is no reason a game that rewards you for roaming, not see roads. Probably just major roads, though. Less clutter.
4. Speaking of clutter, many default icons for locations are just too massive. Worse, many finished Sanctums, Shrines, and Roots stay on the map. It'd be preferred these are removed (or minimized like towns), when collected/completed. -

Summanis3 things I want to see come to the map page
1
-further zoom out
-roads and border markings
-resource markings (farms show which plants grow there, fights show which boss head, mines show which minerals, and then the whole region lists everything there) -

The ParthalonianMap needs to zoom out to full.
Players need to be able to craft a minimap.
Map markers need to be customizable; names, better icon choices, server or single option viewability. -

PipBoykinThe biggest issue the map has is the fact it doesn't identify the bottleneck / crossover points between areas. I've spent several hours on multiple days running around like a looney at the bottom of various cliffs trying to rediscover where I managed to travererse last time.
1
To resolve this:
1. roads between locations should be shown, once discovered.
2. more icons to select from when creating a Waypoint + be able to enter a description. I'm old. I'm not going to remember next week if my waypoint is a gathering location, an interesting building, an important cross-over point, or something else.
3. the map needs to show if a Flame Altar has been collected.
4. The map is extremely busy once you uncover various locations. You should be able to toggle on/off the different kind of markers that are displayed on the map. -

eduardo MergedFor those who are new or is coming to play again the game after a long time....
I dont remerber the location of each item location (ores, logs, fabrics...)
Sorry if my English is not good... I like the game, but I'm having trouble getting back into it after a long time away. I couldn't find an option that shows me where to find each crafting item in the game... This ends up frustrating me because it forces me to replay everything just to know where to find each thing. -

Elorena MergedAn additional grid overlay for the worldmap is something I am really missing right now.
Maybe something that can be also hidden, when players need the normal view of the map.
When I want to expand my base into a town or something, I usually place more than just one flame altar - a grid overlay would be very helpful for a more accurate placement. -
