BEAI still really feel like a 'WoW hunter' style pet would be great. Taming a permanent wolf/whatever else to have it fight at your side with you during combat for the Beastmastery vibes would add a lot of flavour. One that we can name, maybe breed for better stats etc etc

Cat MergedI am trying to catch a cat in the mages tower. I throw the bait, the cat takes it, I pet the cat, I get one red heart, and there's no time before the cat turns scared and I have to start over again. ONCE I've managed to get two hearts, but lost them. Meanwhile, the count, I'm not sure what it means (four lots of three hearts?) was at 1, then it went to 2, now it's back to 1 again. I don't understand what this is supposed to mean - please can you make it clearer and at least give us some time to throw another bait before the animal gets scared again.

cyan64The tame system now feels a bit weird, I'd like to see more tame ways/items for tame : For example 1.valheim way: you trap that animal then it get tamed after some time 2.Minecraft way: you keep tame it until it surrender(tamed)

Hyrum ClydeTaming and riding pets is so important! It's probably the biggest reason why Ark and Palworld have won so many hearts in the survival style games. It also makes for great mods in the future, where people make new mounts/tameables.

MorwenI would love to be able to tame and farm the crocodiles for 2 reasons.
22
1) moats need deadly crocodiles in the future when we have water. (I also think they would look awesome kept under a thin layer of ice)
2) to have the option to farm materials such as their hide through breeding -

NephasteBonjour, je n'ai pas le craft pour l'appât et la nourriture du Yach. Me manque t'il quelque chose ou est-ce un bug comme ma quête des fossiles qui ne s'actualise pas... ? Merci.

RyTaming system is fun and engaging. Only thing I would change is speed and limit of production. Right now for example yak produces 4 wool extremely fast. It would be better if they produced slower but to higher limit(for example 10)

BfrienderSooooo loving the pets!!! I have caught a feral cat in real life and let me tell you this one was far easier, so I don't think you need to change it. It is after all 3 hearts meaning harder to catch. However, I want some baby bunnies running around my house. A friend of mine came over to look at it and accidentally upgraded it. It would be great to have the option to keep some of the animals in baby form.

rabootI would like to tame boars (with a different mechanic since they are hostile) and sand diggers.
28
I would also like to be able to slaughter extra animals for meat, to make breeding more impactful. -
07 Nov, '24
MinTamed animals have trouble finding their food troughs. I have troughs with max food available yet 1/5 of my animals (of each type) forget how to find it periodically. They eventually figure it out but seeing the "no food available" above their head makes me feel like I'm doing something wrong.
25
Production rate of wool from a tamed yak is crazy high at 4 wool but when I was wiping out the entire yak population before I could get yak bait I got 1 wool per yak which doesn't really make sense.
It would be nice if there was an auto-harvest prop/spot for animal materials so that I don't have to run around and collect wool every minute. -

EvanWhere are the DOGS? Did they all get eaten in ohio?
14
Seriously though - wolves are dogs - let us TAME them and RIDE bigger ones!
Please :) -

SimonIf you are specced into Tank (Tower,Warden) the talent will pop if you have 3 or more "tamed" animals closeby, after a few pops it gets anoying ^^.

EntrodorIt would be nice if the crops when harvested, would yield 1 of the relevant crop, and leave the seedling planted. this way you dont have to constantly remake seedlings.
20
this feature could be added as a difficulty setting, in case some people dont want this functionality. -

Sevrys S'NaptGetting to name the critters would be super!
18
However, the bunnies are doing what bunnies do... I started with two, and the next day I have so many I can't count!
Maybe have a drop box for food and the harvested stuff the villagers can add food, and drop off the goods.... I spend a lot of time out and about... Maybe be able to put a villager on farming detail? Give the epic fun job of planting and harvesting? -
08 Nov, '24
nescoyMounts. Naming our pets, not only the dogs and cats, but all of them, taming the hostile animals, maybe? but ofc they would be harder to.
15
being able to set the pet to follow and help on combat, breeding for better stats and maybeeee a color system (ik its sounds to much, not entirely necessary) -

tsuelue MergedCurrently, as I understand the mechanics, if you provide the farm animals with propper food and beds, the produce milk/wool and breed. I´d like them to stop breeding though. Removing the beds seems to stop the producing.
17
Someone suggested, they only breed, when the beds are close to each other, I don´t know if that´s true, but still would be a rathe clumsy mechanic.
Please uncouple producing & copulating. -
08 Nov, '24
enshrouded fanFlightless Redtail MUST produce feathers alongside with eggs. That will make gameplay a little bit better for archer-based builds.

IsaacThe animals are quite buggy in the base, like I’ve used the wood fended in a circle and I’ve placed goats inside with food and a bed. I come back and one might be out or stuck in the wooden fence. Please add wood fence gate :) also animal outfits and being able to ride a few of them and have 1-2 for example as a companion to go with you. Would make traversing on foot a lot faster.

BpckThe cat is very difficult to catch. It's too skittish. It is ridiculous and frustrating. it makes me want to quit the game for good. The more hearts the cat gets the less likely it should turn to an exclamation mark.

ArkhnePlease, for the love of all not shrouded, make pet mortality a world setting. One accidental wrong hotbar slot button press, and a skull roams around your base and murders every single animal. This is *not* cool.

VoicePlease make it so we can hold E or some other button to pick up crops I'm gonna get cramped fingers pressing E for each and every crop. I can place them by holding a button why cant I do it the other way around. I've also noticed that placing animal beds seems to pick at random which animal gets the bed so I wanted to suggest making animal bed claiming to be proximity based for tames. My cats and deer and bunnies and goats all share the same housing for now.

ChrissyI tamed two fae deer yesterday. Feed and beds for both. Closed inside the barn. When I came back both were dead. Today I tried the bunnies. I came back and there were bees halfway thru the stone barn wall and when I went inside, the bunnies were dead. My goats have been fine. Dog and cat good so far. So much fun to be able to have animals but not fun at all when you take the time and the steps to protect them and they get killed anyway. Also the wooden fence is nice but no gates? Weird. Honestly this is my only complaint so far. Loving Enshrouded but please fix the bees! lol

Mike BryantFarm animals really need to be more viable. I've had my goats repeatedly killed by Bees and even my Friendly floating skull. They've also been repeatedly killed by wolves as well. Instead of a pen well inside my flame perimeter I now need to build a stone fortress to have any hope of them surviving. Something must be done. Can we at least have the dog and cat chase away predators?

JessicaHello, could it be possible to auto-feed the pets as long as there is supplies available? A bit annoying to come back to feed them...Sometimes I come back to the base and see they are starving because I was away too long. Also, the beds for animals (goats) are quite buggy, like for the NPC's, as the animation make them sleep sometimes out of the bed.

Thanks for reading! :-) -
11 Nov, '24
VidactBeing able to name the animals would be nice and the pathfinding / AI needs a lot of work (NPCs on that too), my dog and cat go outside around to the back of the house and then stare at the wall complaining about food...

I'd really like to be able to tame more of the aggressive animals, more so after you have the perk to make them not aggressive. Maybe be able to have a combat pet or a mount if it's a larger animal like the the giant spider. Wouldn't be super keen on seeing flying as I do love the glider. -
11 Nov, '24
AudzillaBees keep spawning near my base and killing my farm animals instantly. How do lv 1 bees kill a lv 30 yak so quickly? How do I keep bees from spawning in my base, for that matter? Please add some way to protect my animals other than literally keeping them indoors.

CrispyThis is probably one of my favorite new features about the game. I think having mountable pets and companion pets that can be summoned or stay with you would be really cool. Imagine riding into battle on your sabertooth tiger or snow leopard. Or fighting alongside your wolf or boar. And maybe even flying on your vulture.
7
I know if you have the skill in the beast master tree you can make animals passive and follow you but I feel like it doesn't work that well. For one most people don't know about it or use it because it's a hassle to find an animal first then tell if to follow you. However if you can tame one from the wild it could be summoned and have a much more practical use case. -

YugoAlso having the issue where Tower/Warden is getting activated by tamed animals

Octo_RLIt would be cool if there was a wisp of light pet that followed u around. Maybe a quest reward at the end of a difficult chain, or a low percentage drop from a hard boss fight to obtain it.

KitsuniIt would be nice if we had a farming option in the hammer to plant many crops at once, perfectly spaced out along with having the plants stay and regrow after harvesting until you uproot them. As for the time to grow, it's way too fast currently.
14
The animals are just a completely buggy mess same as the roaming npc's. Often getting stuck for no reason, randomly disappearing (or unsummoning in npc case). They eat all their food rather quickly even a full bowl of 200 is gone in like a days cycle. They should stop consuming the food until their materials are harvested. It would be nice if the NPC's could take care of harvesting and feeding as long as there's items and storage available. That could go for farming and other things as well. -

AkraliaThe animals are great but now i find half my game sessions are busy work of feeding / gathering supplies to make food / harvesting and taking care of my pets. It got to be so much work i ended up taking them up since they never stop breeding and its become more of a nightmare than an enjoyment.
12
1 make it so we can have the assistant npcs take care of them - ie the farmer grow stuff to use to make pet foods / the hunter assistant collect the wool and milk and stuff
2 set it so we can stop getting overpopulated by animals just out of control breeding
3 fix them so 1 or 2 dont stand on the food dish and have everyone die from starvation as they cant get to it
4 make the animals not so player friendly that i can click on the food bowl to fill it as 12 animals are now in the way -

Taddy MasonAs a potential way to expand the pet system, would it be possible to place comfort boosting decorations or items for your pets to extend the length of time the buff you get from petting them lasts? I'd like a way to make it last closer to the length of time my comfort bonus lasts. Either by deepening my bond with my pet somehow or placing decorations or something to boost it's comfort level. I know it would take more work to add something like that, but I would also be willing to spend more time playing in game to find/unlock and then build/place those items for my pets in the game. Having them in the game at all is great and getting a buff from petting them is a cool idea-I just don't know if there are plans to further expand on that system and augment that buff somehow so I wanted to offer the suggestion just in case.

John the Bullthe cat is one of the more sketched out animals to try to tame, and yet, it is placed inside a very confined space. the best part is when you have 2 of 3 hearts, and it walks into one of the almost closet size adjoining rooms, and there is no way to keep from pissing it off. the combination of the sketchiness of the cat, the glitching behavior, and the map design for where the cat is, makes for a frustrating experience. up to you how to improve, whether to just make the cat easier to catch or change its location, but as it is, it is not an enjoyable experience. Quite Frustrating.

CalifaxisThe mechanic for Taming needs a whole overhaul take the dog for example:
3
The dog's sense of alarm is much more sensitive than the initial animals which makes an approach to pet much much harder. The Dog also moves from side to side frequently & so often so that it's likely to turn, get spooked & run just as the petting timer ends. This is not a fun or engaging gameplay loop -

Joey J.Can earth aura be tweaked to prevent it from applying when around tamed animals? It gets a little annoying when walking around a base and continually passing through where they are kept.

TrapperCZE1) some sort of automation for feeding would be nice
6
2) please allow us to tame predatory animals so we can use them as combat pets or as sources of animal-specific resources like Scales from scorpions -

CobaltHaving to cut down trees to harvest Yucca Fruit is kind of a pain. I'd prefer the plant and the palm trees be sepperated.

MatteoI feel like cats (and maybe other pets? at the moment I only have 2 cats) eat WAY too much. In roughly 4 ingame days (or maybe 3?) my 2 cats have eaten roughly 40 or 50 units of their cat food. Somehow my expectation was they would eat like 2 or maybe 3 units AT MOST per day but I spent one full day at my base just sorting my chests etc with them nearby and they were constantly eating!

YugoI feel like the animals are a bit too static, like they only have two modes: sleep & eat. It would be nice if they roamed around the pasture a little more

ArtHey all,
My cat disappeared in LoneThistle, I had Catfood instead of bait, when I returned with the bait there was no cat anywhere, restarted the game many times, and there is no cat in or around the mage tower, lone thistle etc.I have looked for over an hour. -
17 Nov, '24
KurtI really like the look of the farm beds you find around abandoned towns and homesteads with the wicker fences. Could we please get those fences as a craftable item? I read somewhere that they used to be part of the game but they got taken out for some reason.

BluSleeperI would say that certain types of pets should be mountable with varied types of mounted armour. Flyers, Shroud Creatures, Ice Creatures, Desert Creatures, etc. For some boost in speed of varying nature with certain animals like spiders being able to traverse walls / vertical surfaces.
1
Mounted combat would also be great in this regard. Of course there should be a percentage of possibility to dismount you while being attacked or traversing harsh terrain while maneuvering. -

LydthekidPlease give us an option to keep the baby goats as babies and still be able to pet them. Currently the "pet" prompt becomes "upgrade" and I want to keep a few babies and be able to pet them

pdarwin25Help! Please rename "Farm Animal Bed" - and make unique beds for Rabbit, Fae Deer, White Goat, Frizzy Goat and the Red Tail Bird. When and where possible - consolidation - rather than building more separate enclosures for each and every pet type becomes either a preference, or a necessity. However, when a player puts more than one type of the above mentioned animals into the same pen together, they will all reproduce and sleep in the same "Farm Animal Beds" in that area. Babies are born using the count of these "Farm Animal Bed" in each available living area. Since each of these animals use the same bedding you wind up with too many babies and then pets begin to wander about with the "need a place to sleep" above their head. So, new babies of each breed in your enclosure are "stealing" beds from other babies and adults.
11
If you provided each animal type with unique beds, this would eliminate both overpopulation and "I need a bed" wanderers. -
19 Nov, '24
EscynturelIt would be nice if the animals could play, and possibly interact with each other. Maybe even have props they can interact with, like pet toys or something to make them feel more lively.
9
I'd also love the ability to tame some of the hostile creatures, or versions of them. Maybe its weird... but I kinda want a big rat. XD
I adore the wolf models too, and would love to have a wolfy.
More breed variety in the pets would be nice too. Having only one breed with different coats feels very shallow to me. I want big dog, small dog, fluffy dog... a hairless cat would be kinda fun. I would also love to have baby animals that are not accidentally turned into adults with one wrong button press. The baby goats are freaking adorable, and I need them.
The taming system is a bit rough. I think maybe for creatures with more than one heart it could get spooked less easily the more hearts you earn? That way it also feels like you're actually gaining its trust. -

DWhy are my pets starving with 2 full food bins? the pet ai is pretty buggy, love the pets just not loving them not producing resources due to being stupid
