Placing windows and doors automatically remove blocks to fit into the wall

  Cutting out doors and windows was a little tedious, but really not that bad either once you got the controls down.

  All you have to do is Right-click the wall with your hammer equipped and remove that piece of wall and replace it with the wall with the window opening. Can't get much easier than it is.

  I understand OP's point, but i don't think it would be good as originally posted because sometimes you want to overlap your building pieces with the existing walls. However, what would be good i think is maybe a modifier key that will "replace existing" so it will remove blocks for the new item. This would allow you to quickly replace walls with different materials OR do as it is now where it doesn't replace what's already there, as is needed. When holding the modifier you could put a window or door in the wall and it would automatically cut out any intersecting blocks with the items animation boundries. (so doors will cut a hole through the entire wall and not just 1 layer of blocks)

  OP is saying they want the option to simply add a premade window or door to an existing wall, this is a fantastic QoL feature for building and would cut down on selecting and placing existing premade structures. It would also likely give more variety in window and door placement furthering the creative potential.

  I would not like this as I enjoy designing the size and look of my windows apart from the default size and them overlapping the crafted window elements to get unique-looking windows.

  like lets say you have wood wall but want to change it to stone walls or something, so instead of destroying the wood wall first and replacing the empty spot with stone blocks, you can just instand switch blocks so you dont have to destroy the wall first to replace it

  Personally I would love to see Window blocks so we can build them in a specific style and have giant gothic windows that can come to points or have rounded tops. Also love to see stained glass since we're talking windows.

  I want door-less doorframes. Not ever doorway has to have a door. But the doorframe is an excellent decoration.
