Difficulty Settings
Add Difficulty Setting for Players who wanna Grind and want to die often.
So make a Setting with Hard Settings or a Hardcore Mode where u only die once. If you want to join again you need a new Charakter.

Cyresdog AdminI would like to see a % based Slider, like for Example in the Server Settings something along the lines of
100+
"Enemy Health - 140%"
"Enemy Damage - 200%"
"Player Count Multiplier - +50%"
So that Enemies have 40% more health, deal 100% more Damage and for each Player that is currently online the Enemies get 50% stronger -

Dox MergedIt would be very convinient if we would have enemies with level scaling or at least level zones visible on the map. More then often i run into zones, just to get one-shotted before i even saw the enemie's level.

SivNo, we do not want difficulty setting. Giving too much customization makes the game unfun to be honest. It makes the game have less value of what you do. Play the game how the devs wants us to play it.

ZiackThe one thing I like about this and Hate about Palworld currently is difficulty modifiers. I like to play the experience the Devs intended for me. Making things too easy for example just takes away any sense of achievement.

Just create something that gives everybody the opportunity to play the game as hard/easy as he/she wants. Anyways love what I have seen so far from the game, you guys did a great job so far. <3

SteveWould love more options for difficulty. Currently the game is way too easy especially for groups, would love a hardcore mode that spawns more enemies, makes them more difficult, limits resources, makes the survival mechanics more challenging, etc. If this game posed more of a challenge I could see myself playing it for a LONG time! Great game, cheers guys!

AndrewMy biggest issue with what makes this game too easy is the fact that vital, "rare" resources respawn in story areas daily, or near daily. Health potions, string, elixirs, bandages, mana potions -- everything you find in the many abandoned ruins respawn frequently and it kills the momentum and need for crafting your own stuff. The worst part is the stuff you destroy comes back too; crates, beds, furniture, everything that can be destroyed comes right back the next day, free to be destroy for more free resources. I think if a difficulty setting gets added to the game, the ability to turn off respawning resources (outside of the basic ones, like trees, rocks, and bushes) should be included.

HunabRare items like potions , purple yellow items shouls not spawn on random chests, they nees to be earnes not just luckyly found, monsterns needs to be steonger and agressive, combat is tooo easy, options to increase % monster health and damage for each player in server

CrimsonDifficulty doesn't need a slider but instead there needs to be sections of mobs that progressively get harder, they already kind do but there is little to no challenge to it cause there it so little spaced around the world, there is no real free roaming enemies besides dogs that you have to worry about, and night time is the same as day time but with no level of increased difficulty added which is kind of a missed opportunity imo cause night time is scary sometimes and having harder enemies would do it more justice.

Yeah. I think I would prefer just having that as apposed to developer crafted difficulty levels. Just let us decide the experience we want with everything up for tweaking. -

DCustom settings for difficulty to me at least defeats the purpose of goals and achievements. Sorry to bring this up but Palworld has this. You have many players playing the game and you don't have a universal setting of difficulty to almost compare to people. There's a hard difficult boss for example and you beat it with a game that has no difficult setting. That's an achievement people can celebrate and brag about. If you have custom settings, you don't know what settings people have and no real set of accomplishment.

It's almost a double edge sword the whole adding difficulty settings. Me personally I like a game we are all playing the same which is also why I like that they went for a static map. Everyone explores together. Everyone has the same chances and equality playing the game.
I do understand the other side of adding difficulty giving it accessibility to many new players who want to try the game.
This game however feels like it would be best with no custom difficulty -

IcetearIf you add it, please let the player choose upon world creation with no means to change it later in the game. It's just too tempting to adjust the difficulty midgame. See Terraria: Classic, Expert or Master Difficulty World.

NatePLEASE make this game more challenging, and add base raids. My immersion of a scary, foreboding world is completely broken with the complete lack of danger and consequences. They're called "survival" games for a reason. This game feels like I'm on vacation, not trying to save the world.

AnonymousAdding enemy poise so you cannot simply stagger them to death and you're forced to utilize the evasion mechanic would be nice. As it stands, you can just spam so many enemies to death and they are no threat at all. I think making it so enemies cannot be stun-locked would do a lot more to help the difficulty than just adding health or damage.

RoganWarrior MergedI think you are going to have a 50/50 split. 50% will enjoy the time pressure of the shroud, and there are us Valhiem-type players who enjoy the casual game flow. I'm sure this is a big ask, but it would be nice to have a difficulty that disabled the shroud. I don't enjoy playing under time limits.

I know a lot of people are already complaining that it's too easy but I would for it to be survival-hard! You will starve, you need water, villagers need food/water, etc. Now I know this is a bit of a bigger overhaul but I would love if this was possible! -

It needs to think for a lot of people, there are children and adults with no experience, and there is you and people like you. I hope hardcore mode is sincere, but I think losing everything, it's wasting your life time.
Play the product, then replay differently, and, do something else maybe, or, let go to the values of the product that you might need to discover with time.
You need strong values to your hardcore mode idea.

JeromyD, Project Zomboid deals with that by making it so the settings are on the server when it's multiplayer. Everyone on the server gets the same settings. It has a very deep well of options that can be set. Personally, the one drawback about the game I hear a lot is that it's not really that challenging at all beyond "oops, I've wandered into a higher level area". Not really a game where achievements are bragging rights. I actually want the settings in order to be able to crank up the difficulty. Especially being able to set the survival mechanics to hardcore. I think that's the only way we get that since the intended normal experience isn't hardcore survival. Which is cool. I think a lot of people will enjoy that, but there are also a lot of people that will enjoy the added challenge. That said, I'd also like individual settings because I often won't crank up battle difficulty because it usually just makes combat more tedious because enemies just have more hp.

NinjamammothGame is really too easy right now dear devs :( bosses and mobs need to be a massive danger. Please devs my group is already thinking of putting the game on hold because there is no sense of danger when exploring together. Everything dies way too quickly. i wish this game had difficulty settings so it caters to all players of different style. Now it feels like a kids game with this level. Also the combat is too repetitive, we need a heavy attack to break the monotonous left click spam. Maybe 100% charge/old heavy attack damage at 2s charge time. 50% 1s charge. Love the game so far other than that

Combining these genres together only feels natural and a wish come true.
Against most suggestions I do not wish for a game difficulty slider. The game is too easy for someone like me but having a slider creates all kinds of problems and a lot of people would not enjoy the game as you want them to. I rather would like a hard-mode option which creats more danger from the environment like heat/cold, food/water and stuff like that but also improves enemy creativity and threat to you. That paired with more diverse weapons and armor pieces to reward exploration and fighting more and to be able to create more diverse character builds. -

KortakI am all for it. Not everyone is as good as the rest or some are much better in games then others. So making a slider for difficulty.. HP of mobs and damage taken and dealt etc.. is a good thing.
