Dual Wield
Lighter melee weapons such as daggers, less damaging shorter swords, etc should be able to be wielded in the off-hand and used to attack in cohesion with the other main hand weapon.

Conradsuggestion 1: slower attack speed but heavier swings for regular 1h weapons such as longswords, axes or maces, light 1h weapons like short swords (if they exist) or daggers instead have faster swings but can use stuff like poison and bleed effects.

Suggestion 2: alternating weapon attacks instead of attacking with both hands simultaneously while dual wielding. Basically like a combo more than swung together with every strike -

MyrmurI saw the assassin/trickster build trees and immediately assumed I could dual wield daggers and do some stealthy/blink fun. Nope.. Huge miss IMO.

Malicor MergedI would like to see one of the Dexterity branches in the skill tree utilize melee, I believe that the assassin line would be perfect for this as in basically all other fantasy games assassins are usually light melee weapon dual wielding damage based classes. I really feel strongly about the assassin tree switching to melee dual wield based and I really hope that it changes over! Thank you for the consideration!

Gil CIf you are going to this route of classes and skills dual wield for me is a must. It’s the only thing that rogue players are always happy to have and that I really miss. I hope it gets added in a future update, enemies are dual wielding already :)

Hawx MergedDuel wielding is a huge loss for the game, and on top of that I'm sick of games such and Enshrouded and New world to name a couple who have enemies w/ duel wielding skills sets and abilities but the player never gets access to this play style. The animations and skills are already there so allow the player to be able to utilize them as well.

ElelForgottenRelated - Be able to carry your torch in your offhand. Even better (not gotten far enough along yet to see if it is here) is to later have a bracelet light so that you can see better while using two-handed weapons, or dual-wielding.

BohveyIf I can fight an NPC that is dual wielding sickles, it’s shocking to find out that I can’t dual wield weapons. I thought for sure there would be something in the skill tree for this.

HawxThey already have the animations and coding for it (have you seen the duel wielding scavengers), just need to apply it to player model. Also preferably be able to mix and match 1h weapons, as it allows one to add variety to a build with out having to create a whole separate line of weapons. Also we need more weapons and loot to chase/craft I'm sure that will hopefully come later down the road and be a continuing aspect to the game even after post launch.

Stephen NicolAllow us to hold a torch in the left hand and a weapon in the right if actual dual wielding is not feasible. It seems odd to me that my mage carries a shield by default (unless I unequip it) but a torch in the left hand would make sense to me, at least.

EerieTheGhoulI agree and I’m glad it has been bought up. I got super excited to experience barbarian and or assassin gameplay however as soon as I realised I couldn’t dual wield. My options became limited.

Im usually a dual wield double dagger or double axe kind of guy. Hell double hammers would be amazing. -
26 Jan, '24
ConradNot that big of a fan of how everyone wants dual wield just for the daggers; hopefully it's not going to be just dagger builds. Dual swords, axes or maces should also have a spot on the STR side of the talents

GrabwandlerDual wielding 2 daggers, swords etc would be awesome as a weapon itself, this could also get a whole skill tree implementation into the sneak tree :) also it would be cool to be able to put the torch into the shield slot!

StevenI think this is a great idea. I thought of this myself. When I seen the Assassin tree I thought I could go a sneaky backstabbing double dagger route. But it may as well just be ranger extended lol.

Vioif we speak about dual wield, why we shouldnt implement dual wand too? lower the dmg maybe 25% each wand.. it should work for every kind of 1handed weapon (sword + torch etc)

ZionStraight up, first thing I googled about enshrouded after player for a few hours was if I could dual wield... and I was very sad to learn it was not a feature. I love playing a fast and mobile wild risky melee fighter build and no other play style fits it better than dual wielding weapons. :)

TomThere are monsters that already Dual-Wield in the game so the animation sequences for the character rigging are already done and easily ported from skeleton to skeleton with MaxScript or whatever scripting language comes with the animation package you are using, and the basic mechs are there in the code from those dual wielding mobs.
3
Copy -Pasta some of that code, and then build it into the Assassin Skill line, add some enhancement and bonus nodes and PRESTO- Dual-Wield. -
30 Jan, '24
GraveunitDid the same thing Zion did, googled if dual wield is a thing. Especially, you know, when you first start fighting mobs and THEY are dual wielding. Super frustrating when games do this. The things you fight have things that you can't have or pick up. Anything that can be one handed melee, should be able to be dual wielded. The animations are already in the game, the mobs have them. The tradeoff is a natural one, you don't have a shield so you are more susceptible to getting hit, but you do more damage.

HisuinoiI would like to have double one-handed weapons such as two daggers or a short sword and a dagger.
4
This together with an assassin build, for example, to perform really fast attacks and do more damage.
Maybe also with the requirement to only wear leather armor.
I will buy the game tomorrow and finally play it. The points here are my opinion on what would be most important to me. Then give direct feedback again accordingly. -

ocamiacYeah, I was really looking for Daggers / Dual Wielding, too... The melee gameplay is pretty one sided... Tanky and focus on parry stuff, thats it... Give us daggers and a more sneaky gamestyle and let us throw daggers, so we dont need to add in magic/bows to be able to beat the game...^^

fuzEven if they create a special weapon for it. It would be mega OP to dual wield 2 legendary swords or axes.

Wandering_WindThere are some great ideas here, and I wanted to add my two cents.

I love dual weilding in games, specifically doing something with a short sword and dagger. Now I'm aware adding a customizable dual wielding system where you equip one weapon in the main hand and the offhand is difficult, but what I think would work best is adding parrying daggers to the shield/block slot. They would have lower block power, but decent parry power. While one is equipped you could change the attack pattern to include swings or stabs with the dagger. (Asking for animation changes this late in the process of releasing the game is wishful thinking at best, but still its early access and I just figured I'd put my thoughts out there.)
Alternatively you could add dual dagger or sword and dagger weapons that make it so you don't have a shield slot piece of equipment.
Also, loving the game so far, can't wait to play more! -

Chrisdefinitely need dual wielding

SparkeyI completely agree with everything said above, when I first booted this up I had the exact same idea of class only to find no dual wielding! As I appreciate it is a lot of work implementing some of the ideas above, my suggestion is this: how about certain weapons that are dual wield but in one slot similar to Conan and plenty of other games. This would cut the time needed to implement as wouldn’t need to add another slot etc, would just need another weapon type (dual daggers, dual swords etc) which is dual wield - I don’t need to be able to fully customise which sword daggers etc to really enjoy the game! Must say you have a done an amazing job!

XioremDual wielding and daggers, knives, or throwable knives would improve the stealth game a lot and make the assasin/ trickster class a lot more enjoyable as a medium-low range, high damage class more distinct from the archer class.

Thomas MergedSo, I'm about 70 hours in. Basically done the game at this point. Here's my feedback.
3
I NEED daggers.. melee dex weapons. Maybe even dual axes or swords. Make the stats interact with each other better. This opens the door for more creative builds for the players. No reason not to have melee dex weapons. Or maybe even paladin type weapons, like weapons for melee that do healing or magic damage for a build like that.
The armor is boring... Make armor able to be upgraded with runes, maybe even add perks that can be unlocked like you already have for weapons. Then make rarities of that gear drop from chests or bosses. Gives more reasons to farm mobs/bosses more.
Make the mobs and bosses scale based on your level. This way you can still enjoy the game at higher levels.
Lastly, maybe some high end game content... Possible Raids, or dungeon runs... ANYTHING at this point to retain players. Game is great don't get me wrong, I love this game. I'm just craving more at this point. -

F0XWith both hands FOR!!!
1
I like dual weapons more than two-handed weapons or one-handed weapons and a shield.
It’s also a problem at night or in a cave with torches….
I don’t know how to solve this, but it would be nice to make sets of one-handed weapons, for example, through some menu, combine a sword with a dagger or an ax and throw the resulting icon on the quick access panel, do the same with a weapon and a torch (or two torches) . Click on the desired icon and the desired combination of one-handed weapons is in your hands. One weapon is for fire damage, the other is for ice damage...
All that remains is to solve the problem with animation and that’s it. -
02 Feb, '24
KaiSince it's going to be a bit of a hassle to implement a left hand and right hand or even a offhand wielding functionality, I think simply having 'dual blade' weapon type can fix this solution as it acts as a 2handed weapon, so a shield isn't used.
1
You can then apply a custom dual wielding animation to it, and be able to use new models or even design for dual blades in a sense, like having legendary variants or something.
The idea is to expand the pool of weaponry and loot to collect after all, rather than being able to put the same wand in both hands.
'2 handed weapons' would categorized for great swords, great axes, great clubs, polearms, dual blades/axes/clubs, etc.
You can still use 3 hit animations, but for dual blades, you inflict two attacks in one animation of a single strike, your evade attack hits twice, and your jump attacks also hits twice. -

Plssss give assassins dual Wielding with daggers or some.
The only thing is the sneak attack which is super difficult to pull off.
