Improve Casting
ppl who want to be caster or healers should have more options then just 1 fire, frost, or heal spell to use and it should vary to what you want to do. single target, cleave, or aoe for each school of magic and depending on what magical weapon u wield should vary what spells u have access to as well. maybe a rarity system like weapons for magic/heal spells on top of that since they drop in the world same as any other item would also be a nice addition.

Tomas Raffo Mergedmeaning if you hold your spells down it will make them bigger faster strong ect and unless spells can get auto casted from holding the left click down it could be a viable option

Matt Ray MergedAerial Skill - provide an aerial damage option like the other classes. Something to the effect of a hovering for a constant mana drain.

Necromancy - please add more, maybe even just convert the path to summoner that focuses on sprites / elementals. A necromancy option with chills, curses, minor minions, and a scythe would be awesome.
Necromancy could replace the blood magic tree and be the combo between tank and magic
Magical building - mostly to deal with terrain manipulation, especially in earlier progression.
Eventually more spell variety would be appreciated -

Serpentaurus MergedHogwarts Legacy has 34 spells, Elden Ring around 170 spells. Enshrouded currently has like 15 spells to my knowledge.
On the Enshrouded Steam Website it says: "We want enshrouded to become the game you enjoy the most". I want it too! And I am always a magic user, so hopefully expecting more magic diversity in the release build. -

Orionox MergedInstead of having a basic projectile, that is no different than a bow or wand, the staffs should have more unique attacks based on the spells they equip. Maybe make the fire spell an aura or flamethrower and make the Ice spell a ground target slow that does low DOT damage. This would differentiate the spells from other combat tools and from each other. You could also expand these spells into several different concepts. a ground target meteor that's hard to land because of the delay. a frost nova that freezes everyone around you, a heat seeking fireball.... etc. Really, the current magic system is rather boring and could just be so much better if expanded on. Additionaly, I'd like to suggest that the spores you get from killing enshrouded enemies be included in spell scrolls or in magic in some way.

Wir3dupEven if this isn't built into the weapon itself to have different casting varieties (Single target, cone, AOE, Line, Self Burst, etc., they could also be implemented as Skills in the Skill Tree to diversify how different people may cast spells or do damage with Wands and Staves.

Wir3dupAdditionally, allowing "Magic Weapons" to also be counted as weapons that deal Fire, Ice, Shroud, Shock, or even maybe Poison damage. With the Battlemage archetype, it would be nice to be able to use Melee weapons that could be scaled off Intelligence and Strength instead of just firing in the back with a Staff or Wand.

KriyekMagic melee weapon hybrids would be nice. I had mentioned in another post about staves being more like a quiver that has properties that affect the magic inside. First, would be nice not having to scroll to the correct healing spell mid combat, second, you could have fun things like "echo" after a short delay for damage per int, "exploooosion" all spells explode in an massive aoe and have increased damage but consumes alot more mana, maybe have battle mage type "retaliate" that locks some maximum mana gauge but gives passive. The game is great for where it is and has been very creative in building, our combat options should also be creative.

MoistGnomeI second this idea! Especially love the idea of aerial skill, charged magic and summoning :) Would also love to see more diversity in the healer/support class. It would be nice to have spells that would buff yourself and your party somehow (damage bonus, armor, speed, elemental damage add, you get the gist) or more crowd control spells (slow, entangle, wall, curse). Could it be possible to have some of these skills tied to the skill tree?

RovaedenI actually really hate the current implementation of magic.
I would like to see a spellbook to store spells as a bare minimum. As some others have said, a full rework would be even better.
The rework I would like to see would include a dedicated magic system where spells learned are attached to the player, fully independent of gear.
Gear would bolster and modify spells (ie, Mage gear would maximize spell casting in various ways, Damage, mana regen, mana and reagent cost reduction, etc) but even completely naked, the player would be able to cast spells in their most basic forms.
Spells would be initially learned through exploring dungeons for ancient lore fragments (think rune-words) that could be combined at a spell-crafters desk into spell effects. Rune words would describe things like Element, Shape, Modifiers, Special / Legendary Effects, etc.
Rune words could be slotted in the player's spell book to create desired effects. There should be more possible spells than spell slots. . -

LotharioOverall for me the spell casting system is a bit clunky and a hindrance when in combat. Using the scroll wheel to change spell types in the heat of battle needs a rethink. I find myself missing heals more than I would like while I have to concentrate on which spell I am scrolling to.
I would think moving the spells to an action bar might be a better option. -

Zimat very least come up with some magic that isnt just a slow little ball of light of a differing colour that strikes the enemy with damage, see any MMO for inspiration. Note this needs to be present in early game to some degree too, not just late game. Also make magic fast, is unplayable right now
