I think this should be mandatory for dedicated servers. A lot of ISPs won't provide you with a public IPv4 anymore, with everything located behind a CGNAT. The current situation blocks out a lot of players wanting to host a dedicated server.

we seriously need an option for the server to not publicly list itself. This makes everyone ping us and Its not the best. Valheim, 7days to die and popular game servers always have this option to skip registering the server in the public list and the client always have a direct connect option IP or full qualified domain name (fqdn) of a server.

This is an essential feature for people that use xfinity / comcast because these routers don't allow for NAT loopback. If you host a server on your local network, you won't be able to see it in the list. You need direct IP connect to overcome this.

Please this. Direct connect is a feature that most online games have, I don't know why on earth it isn't being used for this game. They're excellent because you can use prompts in game to return the contents of whatever error is being thrown so that players can actually attempt to solve the problem. So far just to figure out if the game client has a different version than the server client (if hosting through gportal) I have to download an FTP client, make a connection, then download log files to find the build version. The logs say that the server is up and running successfully, but the server is not visible. I still don't know what's wrong with it.

This makes me want to refund the game.

Why in the world would you not have an IP address bar and a join option? Why would you want your users to have to sort and search through an overworked server list?

Cant believe this is even a "Game Suggestion" and of all things this game needs from gamer feed back or "Ideas". Its Ridiculous. Do i wish to say some uncivil words to the creators for this. Absolutely but lets be civil. 5 copies Refunded, cant even play on our server. Back to Palworld.

Yeah this is needed 1000X. Games with dedicated servers have an IP address bar for a reason. Now im constantly hoping that the game finds my server, its frustrating.

👉 Workaround for direct IP connections: add the server as a favorite by its IP and port (xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:15637) in the 'Game Servers' window on Steam. Once added, when you open the game and go to the server browser, your server should be listed first in the list as a favorite.

This worked for me. Also, for those behind CGNAT without a public IPv4, I recommend using ZeroTier as a virtual network.

I know I added a comment before but I want to add something. I have the enshrouded server running on another pc within the same network which I have also a gaming pc which connects to the net through a router. My friends connecting remotely can see my server from the available list but not for me because I am running my enshrouded server on a different pc on the same network internally as my gaming pc. Usually I would join by IP but it`s not available. This server list from the client does not want to show my local server so I have to wait for a steam friend to join my server so I can join them after which is not fun for me at all, This would require expedited attention. a lot of people do not care about running this on Gportal or other type of paid game servers. I know the Enshrouded team wanted surely to create something easy at first and i`m sure they will add the feature in the future but I hope this will be sooner then later. Love the game so far.

100% this.. because the workaround people are suggesting, by favoriting the direct IP connection on the Steam side does not appear to be working. Multiple people in our group have tried it, and it has not worked for us. We have been able to do this with our games, so it is not user error. We have a server sitting idle as well, which is frustrating.

Not just direct IP connect, but the ability to join a LAN only game. i do not and will not open ports on my router. i don't play games with strangers, i play games with my friends or my wife. host local, connect local. friends get a private VPN solution in to connect local. already refunded until LAN connections are possible.

This already exists but you have to do it through steam not through the game (for now).

Steam way:

Click View in the top left of steam > Game Servers > Favorites > Click the + icon in the bottom right > add the IP Info > Select OK > then itll show in the game servers list > Select it > select join > then in game itll be at the top of your server list.

First.....The game is beautiful, and sound design is really really well done. Combat is fairly fluid and very enjoyable. And the sheer amount of content is staggering Abundant and Deep considering the Early Access industries very very low bar.

I say all that to encourage you to prioritize server playability.

It is shotty at best at this date and time to even be able to consistently connect to a server. Because of this issue frustration is building rapidly. It is overshadowing, (in my opinion) the amazing content that is simply not accessible due to the inability to join a server consistently.

Direct Connect - This should have been a fundamental item, I am not sure how it was overlooked.
"Game Creation Failure" error - If this does require a manual server restart this is a huge issue.
Inconsitent and unrealiable back-up and saving - This has had a hotfix applied, so I appreciate the quick response.

Please for the love of god... I have to play on GeforceNow at the moment and unless one of my friends gets on the server first, I simply can not play on our server because it has never once populated in my server browser, and you can't access steam server list on GFN...

I am totally addicted to this game!!

I am running a dedicated server, and I can find it on the Steam Game Browser (added to favorites), but no matter how long I wait, the in-game browser never lists it.

Instead of simply pasting the IP and logging in, I now have to troubleshoot the in-game browser.

Think about your product: How do people play this game?
In my experience, the best way to play this game is together with a few friends, when everyone is online and in the party.
This means that there are many small private servers hosted by private people.
As a result, the in-game server browser takes a very long time to list the majority of servers (currently on page 180 after 30 minutes).
This isn't very helpful - the average user wants to find their buddy's server and connect to it.
If this can be achieved by the in-game browser - that's great! But what about the times it can't, for any number of reasons?

This is now my situation, and it would be solved by direct connect.

You can KIND OF do this already, via Steam. We had an issue where the server wasn’t showing, we solved it via the following steps:

1 - Launch Steam. Go to View > Game Servers
2 - Click "Favourites"
3 - Click "Add" (the + icon)
4 - For the IP info use IpAddress:PortNo
5 - Enter the password
6 - Click "Play"
7 - The Game should then show in the Server with a star next to it

But yeah, a direct connect option would be great

Everyone does know that you can easily favorite the server using its IP address by going to Steam and adding it, right?

You want to go to the "View" menu and then "Game Servers" option. Add the server there, xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:15637 and voila you should see it in this list and then when you open the game it'll be starred as a favorite at the top of the list. No searching needing.

It took me all of 15 minutes to set up a server on my linux home server using a Docker image I found and then told my buddy to go put my address in his Steam game server list.

I can understand that is cumbersome for those with restrictions from their ISP but do not see a great problem as STEAM has this function already implemented.

If the steam server browser worked correctly this would not be as critical but as of now I cannot use my dedicated server at all. Game is essentially broken and unplayable and I will be seeking a refund soon if this isn't fixed.

Please add DNS to this. Some of us server owners do not have static IPs to do this, and use free or low-cost DNS names to get around not having static IPs due to the ISP costs of getting a block of them.
