Allow us to craft from any nearby chests, not just magic chests.

To streamline a bit the process of crafting objects while in the base, I think it would be very helpful if the game took in consideration nearby crates. This would reduce the amount of times I have to go visit the chest simply to gather materials. It could even be something that needs to be unlocked like a skill

I know there's a magic chest later that lets us do this but please don't lock such a fundamental quality-of-life feature behind progression/resources.

There's a real difference between progression towards things that make the game easier/more fun and making the game more frustrating and then forcing you to work to make it not.

coming from playing in PalWorld where this is implemented, it truly does suck to have to go to a crate all the time to build stuff. if i place an item in my base thats in a chest i should have access to it at all times.

This a basic gameplay feature that should have been implemented. Games like Stardew Valley, Palworld, Coral Island and many more have this by default. It's one of those frustrations that shouldn't be in the game.

Yep, take a lesson from Palworld. If I'm crafting items it's awesome to not have to go look at a chest and grab all the stuff. Crafting just pulls it from the chest inventory.

Crafting from container is already in the game. You just have to make magic chests!

If you want "magic" chests, then they need to be a VERY early game upgrade. Allow chests to be turned into magic chests by shoving a few shroud spores from the fell in the very first enshrouded area into them. Then they convert into magic chests - we don't need separate chests for them, they just get forever upgraded. That's how early they need to be that way - at a minimum.

Only when inside the border of your bases build zone make it so you can build and craft things without having to carry the items required to do so. Pretty much as long as it's in a chest in your bases zone it can be used to craft, build, not take up inventory space and save some time to enjoy other parts of the game more.

it would be great if you could add up all the materials of the storage chests within the base and make them useable for crafting without having to keep the materials in the player's inventory every time

Magic chests are Super early game already. I was playing blind and had magic chests like 90 minutes in.
