  Creating customer markers on the map is great, but being able to name them to remind yourself what you marked would be beneficial.

  We need more variety in the markers that can be placed and the ability to make them shared to other players or to make them personal and invisible to other players (toggle option)

  As we all know the map is HUGE. I would really like to see a feature implemented where you have a legend for all the icons.
  
  Or just something where you can name and toggle all of the various places found across your adventures.
  
  I find my map gets too crowded and overwhelming kinda.
  
  Also would like the option to name waypoints you place and have more icons to choose from.

  Currently in game we have 4 types of waypoints with 4 color, it'd be awesome to have more types (like mines icon etc.) and possibility to name the waypoint what's currently not possible

  Agree - having 4 colors and 4 icons is nice, but without having text it can still be very confusing which "custom marker" is what, especially if you like to mark a lot of things (wells, mines, twigs, etc.). Most custom things on the map should be able to be named or at least have a notes textbox you can add if you want to that will show up on mouseover when on the map.

  The map, gets terribly cluttered and while we can add icons, we can't name them, was that clay, or copper node?
  The Flame alters on the map need to indicate whether they have been gathered/completed/ activated whatever you want to call it.
  Toggles for map icon types, again the map is very busy.
  Rename the various flame alter homes. It will make it more meaningful than just being labeled Home level 3 etc.
  These aren't game breaking, but they would improve the use of the map.

  Definitely need the ability to name our Map Markers. I have several Markers on my map that I had made to mark the location of something, but I can no longer remember what it was that I was marking. It would be very helpful if we could name our map markers.

  Make us able to write the waypoint we put on map i want to be able to write Water source / clay mining place / cave / etc or put more icon we can put on map like pickaxe / axe/ gathering / warer source etc

  This is one of my few gripes. with how few color and icon options for the map, I have a hard time remembering why I put a marker down in the first place. Would be great if I could add text like "Interesting spot", "Good source of Salt" or "finally I've found a single source of Amber"

  yes yes yes ... please let us name our markers .... having 10 white flags around the map, doesnt tell you if that is a tin mining spot or an amber mining spot etc.
  and maybe also an option to share a marker with friends .... taking screenshot and send picture to friend via discord or whatever, works but sharing in game would be better

  Please allow us to create custom markers on the map. Along with other symbols to mark thing such as nests, ( For archers ) and random mining veins and hotspots.

  - Personal markers are often not properly saved and disappear randomly
  - Naming of personal markers and base(homes) would be very nice

  It is only possible to remove an already existing marker.
  It would better to have the same UI for marker creation only with a "Change" button instead of "Create" for submitting the change.

  I'm guessing many people are not using the custom map markers. It is difficult when they cannot be labeled. This suggestion should have way more votes than it does!
  
  Also, it would be nice if those custom map markers could be shared between players. And/or allow players to ping a spot on other players' maps.

  As the map is so vast, I think adding a feature alongside the custom markers to change the name so for example, "Tin Ore" so its not just an image used to hope that is where you were meant to go.
