Make Food/Cooking More Necessary
Right now, food is very passive. You only need it for buffs or healing, but otherwise you never really use it despite picking up loads of it while you're out adventuring. Having a food/water meter would definitely help to utilize more of the food and making it more necessary to keep fully stocked.
In addition to that, per another post, if you were to add farming (livestock and plant-based), that would make that particular feature more popular and needed too.
Overall, right now, there's very little reason to have stacks and stacks of food, and you end up just deleting a lot of it.

OrionoxAs an option i would support this, but i know many people who prefer the valheim way of handling food.

MirrebexExactly! Food, as it currently stands, is just there to give you certain buffs. You don't HAVE to eat. There's no starvation or loss of health due to it.

OmegaI don't think the devs want a rigid food system, like you need to eat and drink or you die. Which I agree with personally. I much prefer the Valheim method. That said, I do agree that food other than stamina buffs seems rather under-tuned. Would like to see a heftier penalty for not having food in your system.

Jojo-1 Please dont do this. I already hate the food system. I am all for a Hunger, Thirsty system but I dont want both in the same game.

TaylerBootz-1 also. I have enough issues with stamina without having to eat just to be full on top of it. I am fine with food buffs and not hunger. That's why I LIKE this game.

SkyePrior to early release, Enshrouded was hyped up by various streamers and gaming articles to be one of the most watched "Survival craft" games.

Without the need for managing food or water, and no raids on the base, it lacks the feel of a "surviving". However, I agree that some players will be annoyed by needing to eat/drink to sustain themselves.
I suggest making a toggle feature for food/water meters as a world creation option. -

AlexFood and the buffs they provide are already very handy in the current state. Not in any way mandatory, but they provide an option for the players who want to be more prepared for the fights and adventures. More options = better.

AlbertI disagree. Hate babysitting my character and watching "timers" for food, otherwise I might "die". This could be implemented IF it's an OPTIONAL difficulty on the SERVER settings ( before creating new world : under Rules etc. ). Otherwise just no.

One of the reasons I liked Valheim is the fact the food was useful but not required. I don't want to be distracted when building or mining. Just want to focus.... -

AndrewThis would definetely add more "survival" to this game, but I`m also agree that this should be an optional thing for servers

Red-1 also. I do not agree with this. Maybe if your a mage build this makes sense, but melee builds definitely feel the difference in food buffs.

SkjoldurI prefer this system.
This kind of system was the best thing Valheim established.
But they could make a true survival mechanic a server option for those people who want to suffer from annoying mechanics.
