Need more possibilities to organize my stuff so please let us rename chest tags. It's fine to see a short preview what's inside but a name tag would help a lot.

I would like it if they added the option to rename things like base names, so it doesn't just show as "HOME level x" and the possibility to name markers too. Also, just a general way of naming things in game like adding signs would be a nice QoL.

Make storage boxes to be only accesable from the player who created them so people don't rob you blind. Possibly make a tick that is either private or public storage. Because now you can only play with friends otherwise other people just rob you and this defeats the purpose of multiplayer game.

I don't personally feel the need for locking chests, but NAMING them has been something that has annoyed me in every game I've played without it.

Could add the chest name to the interface at the bottom of the chest window, and while it would be preferable to have the labels visible, even if the name just appeared on mouseover/player focus for interaction, it would be loads better than the blank one, especially since the focus prompt only shows the first 3 items that are in the chest instead of all the contents.

I feel like in the interest of protecting yourself while playing on a public server there HAS to be a way to lock your containers, I try to target my threads away from "do like this game did, and that game does this". That being said I can definitely see where you guys are trying to go with the environment in this game which is a HUGE relief to see something a little different in the survival world and I think you guys are doing amazing. That being said, the only way I can see implementing some security without deviating from the whole server group playability vibe you're after, would be to give ownership/access to trade benches/storage boxes, pickup authority on all items, and extinguish rights for placed alters to the person who placed them. Then grant the ability to interact with another player and grant them a trust level for all those rights. This way other players can still port to your base, rest in your beds. But can't do any real damage.

I have currently created an open world with no password and I would like to keep it that way so everyone is welcome, however, I noticed my supply boxes would get ransacked continuously. Let us have a password on particular items and/or a withdrawal request that gets sent to the worlds host!

I would suggest a supply box furniture that is immune to damage, has a unique 'deposit/withdraw' system using points.
Donate plant fiber, get 1 point. Donate wood log get 2 points.
Withdraw items for 2x their value.

Once it is placed, it cannot be destroyed so long as it has items in it, and it remembers the original owner who placed it, hence that owner can move the items in and out freely like its a vending machine.

Yes.. Where it says "Storage Chest" at the top when opened just allow us to click on that and rename/edit it. It's a fundamental issue :-)

The ability to name boxes for specific mats and organization would be key.

Naming of map markers, and sharing of map markers would be ideal for sharing among the server or your squad. 100 times upvote!

Title says it all. Being able to label chests and storage systems is key for OCD players and those trying to hoard as much as possible. To fight the shroud, one must be organised, to be organised, one must be able to label containers.

This is a necessity and will eliminate major issues should an unwanted player find a way onto your server. This is especially important in co-op and MP servers when the save system is not saving multiple saves, but is overwriting the last save. Hard to role back when damage is done.

Names for chests would be step 1. It would be so cool if you have a inbox container, which devilvers loot you put inside it, to boxes where this one ressource is stores. Configureable would be optmal. This would make me more playing the game instead of sorting stuff in boxes and teach my buddys where to put things in without any lables. So this would be a "I don't need lables option".

Allow for one(!) personal container per player that cannot be accessed by anyone else. This is stored with the player data, so remains active and identical no matter what server you play. In any new world you can simply build it and access it's inventory.

How about being able to build one(!) private/personal chest that is saved with player data and exists in any world you play. Can be built once in new worlds and has immediate access to the content placed there previously. Like an additional backpack that is placed/accessed in any new world.

Signage is very important when you have lots of items to store. Not just a name on a chest but an actual sign that can be placed on the chest or the wall next to the chest. Valheim has the perfect signs.

Trolls that steal from hosted servers Merged

Definitely need to be able to secure your chests/building, or make it so people that aren’t invited into your party can’t damage your building, and steal your good items in your storage then leave the game. Twice I hade my items stolen from someone I didn’t know, and my only option was to exit the game before they went straight to my chests to loot my items. Better yet if you’re the host of the game you should be able to restrict access to players you don’t know from accessing your flame, and have the NPC’s insta kill those that are looting your items at one of your bases. Then give you an option to teleport to your base that the npcs had protected, and give you the opportunity to wall off access to your storage. Many bombs/spells that I farmed and legendary items for different classes were stolen from random players, and being the hose I couldn’t find out their steam ID, remove them from server, or do anything but log out.
