Don't show all map markers as new every time you log in

Every time I jump into my server, all map markers are marked as new, and I have to mouse-over them all to remove that little dot next to them. And the more I play, the more markers get added (the map is HUGE!).
I'd love for this to not be the case, or alternatively, an added button with similar function as "Mark all as read"

*speculation* this may be due to the constant "server reset" upon login (even on solo worlds... as that is what I do). I'd be curious to see if the OP's suggestion would be fixed with a server save fix? If not, I concur, no more new markers on old markers!!

Jambo - Thank you for mentioning it! I didn't have that achievement I notice now, as I've partly played with a friend on his server and partly solo on mine; I still have the shrines cleared from Fog of War on mine, so I just assumed that I had already taken them all. *sigh* now I need to take them all one by one, just to be sure...

Angelo - Yes, the server reset might be exactly why it is like it is. If everything is reset and respawned, or if everything should be permanent is up to them how they want the game to work, so I think a "unmark all" function would be the easiest way to 'fix' it.

I think this is really important. Even if you hover over the icon and remove the new icon status, this only works for half of the map. The other thing I'd add to this is a map filter so that you can quickly look at only the areas of the map you care to explore.

Also show which altars of fire you've visited. I know they respawn every time you relog, but it would still be nice to know which ones you've actually visited.

Would also like to see markers I add to the map appear for the group on the server as well as being able to see markers others have placed.

Game made map markers should show a tic if they have been cleared. Period. Nothing else unless that marker has special information like its part of a quest.

I think it should be obvious this isn't really needed to be suggested, The forum is more for changes and new implements into the game- whereas the map icons showing new on restart is clearly a bug and was never intended to happen and will already be fixed as soon as possible

Love to be able to filter what icons. Or better be able to tab through my altars to find them easier. Sometimes they get hidden under town or camp markers.

I would love to be able to right-click on a location marker and pick something like "mark as visited" in the same way as elixir wells/shroud roots. Those have a little blue checkmark on them, being able to mark my locations as 'complete' is going to improve QOL tremendously. Right now I have no idea which flame altars I've already been to and which I haven't visited yet because all of them have the damn yellow dot. Sometimes I mouse over them and the yellow dot dissapears and sometimes it doesn't, like there's a limited amount of locations that I can UNmark as new.
Also it'd be great to have checkboxes to display certain types of locations like "display farms" and "display scavenger camps" so that I don't have to look through too much visual clutter on the map.

Rather than manually marking something as visited, devs should just make the icon for a location different if you've been there before or not. It could be something as unintrusive as maybe just having a different colored ring around the icon or something if you've actually visited before. Locations that must be "cleared" like elixir wells would maintain their checkmark after clearing, but with this method you would know if perhaps you had been down there before but not cleared it yet

Due to the server "reset" functionality of the game, I'm actually ok with the yellow diamond on locations every time I load the game

Also, second the idea of having the ability to toggle groups of location types on the map so not everything is there all at once. OOOH that gave me an idea, what if they added these location toggle groups and there was simply a separate toggle for "view previously unvisited locations only"?!?!
