Let villagers feed the animals
I like the pets and animals feature. Please enable villagers to refill animal feed bowls when there is already crafted food in storage. I don't mind crafting the food, but the food distribution is a pain that can be minimized. Assigning this task to a villager also adds some realism and purpose to having villagers.
There may be some other farming/gathering/cooking tasks that could be delegated to villagers, but that is probably a bigger topic for a different thread.

OncaI had a similar thought, and would love to have them gather items from the animals and drop the items in a central location. Maybe an assigned non-magical chest or something.
