Share skill points on Root destruction with all server members

I was playing on my hosted game, and went away from base and destroyed a root. My fellow player back in base did not get a skill point, which I didn't realize was a thing. So now we feel bad that I'll permanently be one ahead.
Not sure if that was as intended, or as a bug, but I think 'global' skill points on a hosted server for destroyed roots would make sense.
