Last Meal skill should not drain food faster
the "last meal" skill makes food last half as long but persists through death. This means the skill is only worth it if you are dying at least once every 20-45 minutes. Actually dying once would be the break-even point. It also means that anytime you are base building, or lumberjacking etc - your food costs are doubled. This skill is clearly a net negative unless you are really, really bad at the game.
The skill should instead let food persist through death, but duration should be halved with each death ( or maybe you just subtract a flat amount, up to you how to balance this, but make me not incentivised to die and make pre-death food drain normal ).

Paul JI don't use this skill, but even I can see that it is poorly balanced: players are immediately hit with a penalty that is ALWAYS in effect, meanwhile this skill only helps if you die. And somehow don't have access to more food.
Just keep the food effects after death. That's it. It's NOT too strong, the player needs to DIE to get the benefit, which is already traumatic enough (unless you're so terrible that you die all the time and thus don't care). Finally, don't forget we need to spend skill points to unlock this skill in the first place. I'd rather spend my skill points on something that helps me, instead of something that I could get simply by eating more food - and a player without this skill gets more benefit from the same food too, this is just flat out worse. -

AkkyI initially thought it would only be halved AFTER I die, too.
I actually doubled the food duration in my world settings cause I wanted to use this skill, and the decrease in duration felt so ridiculous. -

ReiSome talents in the tree are VERY unbalanced. The talent tree needs a massive rework!
Last meal gives such a massive downside, I wouldn't skill it if it was FREE.
But 5 talent points ? No way !
In comparison: Dessert Stomach gives you 1 additional food slot - for 4 points - NO downsides.
Inner Fires - 4 min longer in the shroud - no downsides ! Really strong compared to that.
Suggestion:
- remove the downside, completely
- reduce the cost to 4 points
- move it closer to the middle as beginner friendly talent ("noob helper")
