Pikeman's Bulwark upgrade information is unclear

The way the Pikeman's Bulwark shield upgrade information is presented is confusing. The way it is presented easily leads one to believe that they must upgrade the flame before the shield upgrade can be done. The fact that upgrading the flame sends the recipe to the next level of materials without any ability to complete the previous upgrade makes the entire process all the more confusing and frustrating.
If the intent is to show that there are further upgrades, the current recipe should simply be shown as 'Flame level x of y'. Furthermore, the player should have the ability to go back to previous flame level upgrade recipes if they have not achieved that upgrade yet.
