Multiple people sitting on the same bench

On wide benches, there's plenty of space for 2 or even 3 people to sit side by side. It would be nice if on multiplayer servers, multiple people could share a bench together. It would also be cute if an NPC could sit next to you on a bench, but this is more about Multiplayer functionality.
