A way to Change NPC Distance after going through all their chat options

I just started getting NPCs and I see I can't alter the Blacksmith's walking distance once I read all his chat options. Now it just automatically goes to his store page instead of the dialogue box. I like for maybe even if the NPC has nothing to say that chat box still opens just so I can keep altering their walking distance.
