Recovering Animals after they get lost

My animals keep disappearing on me. It would be nice if the game made a backup array of our animals, and if any go missing, we could perhaps go to the Cinder Vault, and click on a button, and have all our animals spawn around us, so we can pick them all up, and take them back to their barns.
I have played for weeks without losing a single animal, and then suddenly have 3 of them disappear at once, without a trace!
