  I found the LotR option to have my character play music from ABC files with ingame instruments the most enjoyable, would love to see something like that.

  Don't stop there, lets add a Bard class. Maybe a metal violin that can be swung by the neck for short range, a cello as a two hander, accordion as short ranged (hold on to one end, fling the other at the enemy), maybe a trumpet as a long ranged magical weapon. Add in the ability to also play them as just a musical instrument, with a Bard skill tree that grants a buff (each instrument has its own, unique, buff) when the music is played.

  I would really like for something like sea of thieves song system, where each player can play predetermined songs (that could be unlocked via exploration) and other players can join in with other instruments.

  it could beautifully offer a way to introduce lore of the game world and also offer some ambient atmosphere players can customize their base with!

  Heck, this might be a stretch, but using the idea of a Bard class as a springboard: add a rhythm minigame to whatever magic they can cast. A better "performance" would mean better buffs/debuffs, but you'd have to juggle it with dodging attacks and such.

  I think musical instuments with .midi or .abc file support will be a great way of gaining traction. Think of all the possible symphony videos on youtube!

  Another idea would be to do it similarly to other games, for example when playing musical instruments, they provide temporary buffs for the group such as attack speed, spell speed, etc., so that it makes sense to play them before boss fights or similar

  Even if it doesn't go as complicated as playable weapons or a new class that is weapon based...I would very much like to have DECORATIVE musical intruments I could place in my castle to create a music room. There is nothing for building that isn't purely functional. Surely the people of Embervale do things for recreation? Play music, dance, paint, sculpt? Things that we can place to build these creative spaces would be awesome! (And statues!!)

  Please add some song for the music npc to play/sing, right now she plays one tune but it would be great for example talk to her and ask her to play specific song.

  I would LOVE to have more music into the game. Sometimes it's just 'nah'. Boring, the atmosphere is not there when we players need it. Blizzard has an orchestra, this game is nearly perfect if you had a) more and b) better background music.
