Add Castle Defence Items to Build With
It would be great for castle builds to have working drawbridges, portcullises, trap doors, etc, each tiered to go from basic wood to metal plated versions, getting more hp the higher tier they are, if we get optional pvp or raid events in the future these would be great additions to have.

Kevkon MergedI would like to have a raid-mode where enemies start an Invasion on my homebase. Furthermore it would be nice of there where possibilities for building an defense-infrastructure. All in all the mode could work like a Tower Defense.
I would also like to see more NPC companions in my base. The companions could help to gain ressources like stone, wood, plants etc to increase the income. Maybe we can give them different tasks. In Addition to that there would be more life in the Homebase :) -

Zach Mergedthere is one where you have to step on a plate then shoot the target to unlock one of the steps for a door. it keeps thinking the door is closed and if im by myself which i am. It can not be shot as the door seems to be closed well it clearly has opened. the arrow hits the door even thoough its opened .. the game thinks the door is still closed even though youve stepped on the button,

ZilchAnything to add competitiveness. Some sort of base defense mechanics with npc companions is always awesome. Right now, I'm itching to see more people in the world (PC and NPC). Its huge and lonely and there's only 6 of us.... 5 just stand there repeating the same random crap to me. They were cool when they learned new things, but now I am wanting some patrolling guards, and maybe some archers to defend my territory! Maybe even a few people that can actually be placed in the chairs and use the tables I have sitting empty.

Lancet/ Gothic Arches pleaseI'd love to upvote this comment. I want the FURNITURE items. But I decided not to upvote it because it includes mention of PvP.
I do NOT want PvP.
The furniture items are all I want. Especially gothic style castle roofs, Gothic style windows, etc. (Please don't make them churchy. Gothic style isn't church style) -

HollyBuilding any type of defense system would be really cool. Plus, wouldn't it be common sense? I mean the places that have the most resources are huge targets for raiders or scavengers. Not to mention the big evil Shroud with all its monsters. It'd be really neat if there would be more npcs at some point. After all what would be the point of saving the land from the Shroud if there weren't any survivors (not including you and your crafters) around somewhere. That way you could have some in charge of the defense systems. Install some watch towers with warning bells they'd ring to warn the settlement of impending danger. It'd also be cooler if the Shroud was way more of an active threat. As it is now, it's just sort of there. It doesn't expand or do ANYTHING. It just stays in the same spot and stays the same size. Have it be even creepier somehow. Give it more of a horror vibe.

WhiteKnightA Drawbridge woulb be nice but even better would be a watermoat around your base, for example that you can get water with a bucket out of our Well and then put it in it or just build a pump that can do that, would be interessting to see even it would be hard to accomplish....

HannesIt would be so cool to be a fort commander of the last survivors and potentially re-populating the world,
holding court in your tavern when npcs fight and distributing land and see their community grow, as a late game content
when the shroud was stopped by the Flameborn!
Could even have some reference to "the builders" -

JonThis would be nice against not just the PVP aspects, but for random mobs or mini-bosses that may stray into your area. Being able to set up defenses would put up a greater purpose to improve your home areas and give it a purpose to make forts, castles, etc.

CastlesWorking drawbridges & portcullises = yes please!
Don't care for PvP. I want to build castles.
Things I want:
Circular towers with optional spiral staircases inside them
The pointed tops of towers as a new roof type. It would be very steep and meet at a point on top.
Castle arches! Windows, doorways, etc that are arched. -

Lancet/ Gothic Arches pleaseI don't care for the combat aspect of it, but I would love to build with drawbridges, portcullises, and other castle pieces.
Even better if they are functional (animation to pull a portcullis up and down) -

Paul JOne of the main problems is interactive furniture in general, not just traps. It would be nice to have more traps than the ones we already have - bear traps, exploding traps, pits, spikes - the only issue is they're largely set and forget, so it'd be too easy to accidentally activate them while working around your base. I'd like to have something like a ballista turret an NPC can man and fire, i.e. something that actively needs to be used. We're not there yet though.

ONI-JungeI strongly request that base raids or PvP be exclusively an option,
because I know many players who don't want to do that, myself included. -

Megamole GamingAs others have pointed out, the thing that takes this game to a whole other level is this feature plus PvE base raids. Basically bolts another (super fun) genre onto an existing successful structure.
