Add Arches / Curved Building Pieces - Ornate Arches etc.
This feature would go in with the current shape build options, the idea is to give us the capability to make ornate ceilings with vaults and arcades. My thought is they would be ornate like the well blocks are. Currently we can do very little to make the ceiling look decorative.

ZiackAbsolutely, and if possible, the ability to have diagonal Foundations to we can make hexagon shaped buildings so everything doesn't have to be square.

snowdropsOr even let us create our own prefabs that we can then place with the ingame building system somehow

Miqo The Miqolol i agree. i just started my first major build project and i will say that in order to do the fine details i have had to go VERY big to make the voxel style blocks looks good. tbh it's basically the same as minecraft. it looks clunky when your base is like... 40x40x40 but once you get to max size you can do some impressive things. what i do think we need is faster terrain removal. lol i'm doing a imbedded build into a cliffside like many and opening up the interior to the 160cube size has been a NIGHTMARE so far.

Hannesmaybe combine this with the triangle pieces request, in an architecture update, to allow for round towers?
cheers -

HitmanStallion MergedWe have all kinds of cubes, but I would love to build a circular tower, and presently the tools are so cumbersome having to try and do it manually I'd rather not even try, if you could add circular floors and walls so I could build towers that would be awesome. I know you already have the disc option for terrain so we need something similar in larger sizes for building materials and walls.

VaronimIn addition to arched/curved prebuilt building pieces, add a toggle to the building blocks that lets them merge to a smooth slope once placed. Similar to how some beams, walls, pillars already merge with each other. That way we could freely make any smooth structure we want.

RhianI would love to be able to build those two high windows in some of the pre-made buildings in game, they look gorgeous and they allow for taller builds without the window and door placements looking weird...

Storm ReaverYes. And door-less doorframes and pillars. And window ramps for a glass ceiling or greenhouse.
Having ramps/arches as additional pieces could be nice overall. We would need the corner pieces too.
Since they're voxel orientated, we could use them for stair rails or interesting wall cutouts. -

QWould it be possible to have angled pieces? I know it might not fit in the voxel space, but having diagonals or being able to rotate blocks even at 45° increments would certainly solve the "rounded" shape problem.
-

CAGx@Ziack, things don't have to be square, you can build angled, it's just harder to do.
There are many tutorials for making angled builds in minecraft, the same concept can be applied to enshrouded, you should check it out. -

HelpmanI bet most of us tried to make a hobbit house. It's impossible to add round objects, and you end with some sawtooth things full of corners.
What about some material that would form rounded shapes? Even if you could use it for frames, replacing border materials with that one. So could use it as a frame around windows, as example. It should blend with other materials, but form rounded shapes when placed non linear, as the roof tiles or stairs, but it should create rounded shapes.
We could use it for columns, doors and windows frames, support beams... Or just decoration. -

Storm ReaverI entered a dungeon and saw arches and doorframes... I'm jealous. I want those!!

TraceI am finding the base building to be very compelling and would love to see some different shapes or pieces that are angled differently.

bonesyes! curved building pieces especially would be great. wizard builds need (circular) wizard towers!

AkrylonAs an idea to make more "nature" and round textures and buildings: you guys might think of an tool or building tool option where the player can mark a certain area and toggle between a selection of block behavior.
for example:
1. voxel
2. flat (for like diagonal spaces and round or round in another option)
3. uneven -

CastlesGothic arches please! They are also called Lancet arches.
I would love to have these as tall, thin windows.
Large castle gateways.
Gothic arched ceilings! -

survivalcheneven turnable building parts to 45 and 135 degree angle would help a lot <3<3<3

Lancet/ Gothic Arches pleasePeople have been attempting to make castles with arches, but it looks very bad. Minecraft blocky.
Please give us arches and turret tower pointed ceilings.
More modular building pieces would be great. Even if they aren't building blocks. -

CloudI was actually just playing valhiem in not to long ago and they are able to rotate all of the building structures 360 degrees allowing for more creativity like domes, curved walls, etc. and the ability to build bridge like structures and be able to build a support system underneath for the appearance of functionality

FredIf we could increase or decrease the size of the with some limits, consistency, add curved one, rounded ones, blocks, could be nice... =)

grillonrougeAlong with arches and vaults, domes would be very nice as well. These three constructs together cover a large span of architecture's history.

HunabDefinitely one of the things this game lacks more, new pieces have to come with the content updates just like valheim they add new biome new mats and there are new building pieces, they need to start adding circular and curved shapes along with more angles of rotation, world looks amazing but building is so squarish and trying to build circles with this voxel system that changes the shape of voxels when theyre togheter its just horrible
-

CaelNoting that this might now all be possible with the constraints brought about by the voxel setup being used, you could use the Plotz modeller which was developed for Minecraft and generate your own templates to use to make towers and curved walls. I'm going to get on one of my servers and see if I have the patience to do this. From some of the builds I see in the community hub, others use a similar generator. Its more a question of "Am I patient enough" to put up with building a single block at a time.

TodurThat would be amazing. Before starting building i saw some arches inside one of the locations, and boy, I really wish to build with those. I think the game has a really huge potential when it comes to building and I really wish the team would be able to add as many types of structures, decorations. I think when they would really like to get out of EA the game should have at least a package of those popular kind of structures. I am an architect and I really enjoy designing and restoring cities and buildings. About 2 weeks ago I wanted to build a gate in a Carolingian- Romanesque ish style but i lacked arches and it was a bit of a bummer. But congrats for the game, its great and I hope i will play it for a very long time, and if the team will hang on to it, I strongly trust my gut to say that it will be one of the grestest games of its genre and maybe beyond.

DeepdiverA half block for each building block in terms of thickness would also be welcome. I would like to use them as a veneer so that interior walls and ceilings can be a different texture than the outside without making walls two or three blocks thick.

superpebblethe terrain materials could at least meet up with building materials a lot better. that way a person could use various terrain materials to make curved walls, spheres and spikes.

NytSongThis would be so amazing. We come across premade farms and villages that have nice curved stone fences and I'd love to build those.
To add to this, in the mountains there are cute little huts with neat beams at an angle at the edge of the roof and there is moss growing along the angled roof. This cannot be replicated. Not only can we not angle beams, but we can't angle a square of moss. If you attempt to do the moss cube by cube, you just get this stair stepped mess. I'd like to be able to recreate buildings that are found out the wild, and that includes curved walls. -

MikeThe ability to rotate any of the building blocks, and roof blocks to any angle (as you can with placed items) X.Y. and Z axis, would open up the creativity quite a bit.
Even if it is only 5° increments. -

SeanNot sure if commented in here yet. One why we might be able to get circular structures to get quarter and half size triangle foundation building blocks. Won’t be a true circle and more of a hexagon shape. However, the existing wall blocks could still snap I place with the outside edges. Example of other games that do this is Dune awakening and Soulmask.

fluffy kittenswhy not have a survivor you can rescue, who is a mathematician.
which would unlock arches, and columns.
could be a ques tfor each zones building materials, etc.
could even be DLC content if you haven't alloted a budget for complex building sets, which would allow staff to keep doing building pieces.
columns should be 4 pieces, the 1/2 arch, the base, a 1/2 round column and a header/bulkhead (the 1/2 column and header can be the same profile to allow a flying column (an opening with the arch at the top)
large columns like a Greek temple, could also be a thing, with 1/2 round columns, bases and crowns to allow some to be mounted directly to walls. -

PestilenceCurved pieces! Yes! Additionally, add floor/wall/roof pieces for a 45 degree angle. This will allow us to make hexigonal structures as well as rounded. Thank you!

RyanI was thinking of something like how round pillars were added you could make like pyramidal blocks to like match them. Fairly simple shape
-

KelseyI agree with arches. My idea is to maybe have a tool like the hammer that can help smooth edges and make them round or triangles like people want.
-

CyrilPlease add arches and columns like the existing ones but in other colors matching the différents building blocks.

Lord YanaekWhile it's great that we now have arches in the game, i would like to see *smaller* arches and columns. The columns we have are huge (4 voxels square base). It would be great to have 2-voxels one, or even 1-voxel columns. Those could add details to smaller builds, or finer details to large ones. A simple rescale would probably do the trick without even requiring a new model.

acfloryCurved shapes for stone walls and steps would also allow us to create more organic shapes in situations where straight lines don't really fit
the npc - e.g. Balthazar. He's is presented as a sort of primitive, yet he is supposed to live in a square house?
