Locked structures/containers with options to unlock, protection of terrain around another players building, separate the flame to per player instead of per server, right now all servers are just grief servers, cant build anything, I rented a server for this game and due to that forced to password it for known players only.

To facilitate server hosts that would like to invite player groups of unknown trust level (strangers), or who manage a large community, it might be good to include basic ownership and permissions on a per altar basis.
Ownership:
The player who creates the altar is an owner and they can add other players as owners. Owners have full permissions and can flag their altar as public, private, or whitelisted.
Public:
As currently implemented.
Private:
Only owners have permissions.
Whitelist:
Owners can enable an optional whitelist on their altar. Players added to the whitelist can have individual permissions toggled for them.
Permissions:
The set of basic permissions could be something like:
- Can alter terrain / buildings
- Can access public chests
- Can access restricted chests
Chest Access:
Chests could be marked as public or restricted, allowing some measure of inventory control. -

It boggles the mind that with up to 16 people that can play together, it is assumed that everyone wants to be one massive group sharing everything and all unlocks. Fine for small groups, but even MMORPGs assume people have their own stuff and are doing their own thing, and only raids have 16 man groups.

milly MergedI feel like the current loot system disincentivises playing with friends - the more players you have, the more thinly spread the loot becomes. It's also disheartening to go exploring and find all the chests are empty because someone already looted them.

Triaz MergedIt would be nice if there will be something like a Guildsystem so that not anyone on the server can destroy your base/buildings or cant loot your storage. At the moment anyone can steal your resources and equipment from your storage/base. The problem is anyone can join a public world an destroy your base. so a group or guildsystem would be nice that only your friende/guildmember can use the storage from the guild or can build in the base. Yesterday i tried to build a base but there always comes players from another server an looted my storage or steal my smith, my workbench or even more....this makes no fun so you have to play on a private server with password. it would be nice that players can build there own bases in the same world and wont share his "flame". Also would a basedefense szenario nice where enemies attackt your base and you have to defend it. And more buildings for that defence like towers and maybe more npcs who can help you defend the base. an option to pvp will g

Triaz Mergedthe quest progress shouldnt be for the whole server. It should be a personal progress so players who joins later could do the same quests others already did. The lootchests can also have a "respawn" and could filled after a few ingamedays or it would also be okay that all players could loot a chest

Noxxygen MergedCurrently all Flame Altars on a server are shared between all players. Meaning people are forced to build within the same claimed-area as other players on the server. This can feel very limiting when players want to build large and unique structures as well as have separate bases geared around resource gathering/convenience.

Ravison MergedI'm afraid to allow people on my server because I can get griefed (on accident even) and lose progress if someone were to extinquish the flame. A simple solution would be to allow only the one who placed the flame to extinguish it.

Flame altars should also be 4 to a person not to a server. People should not be able to build or destroy in an area where you have a build radius. Your build radius for your altar should be protected. -

Danny MergedYea its wild to me that your Altar does not prevent people from griefing your base. I took the PW off my dedicated server not knowing this, to see if anyone wanted to team up. I came back and I had been straight up looted and pillaged lol. And with NO PVP you cant even defend yourself.

Someone came in and destroyed our home for resources and took everything we had collected. I know it was not a save issue as I witnessed the act first hand.

Lucifer Mergedoption to create a server with a pvp option or the player can activate and deactivate the PVP system within the game. The community is large, covering the possibilities for players brings MUCH more content to them, and attracts a lot more players! Ignoring this is not embracing the market! The game has a lot of roleplay potential but it needs to listen to the community, if it works with the roleplay community the game will never die!

this game goes in wrong direction, you need to save your map with a password, how you would play this with just 2 of your knowing friends ?
Passwords prevent to met new "friends" and without password i had on one Server 6 Times the base destroyed from some Trolls that are just jumping between the bases and Destroying everything. -

Jashii MergedI recommend having the Flame Altars work similarly so we can limit who can build or modify our bases. Please look into how Tool Cupboards work in Rust because that - by far - is the best anti-griefing method I have seen in a 'sandbox' game.
