Building Blueprints / Custom Templates
By blueprint, I mean the ability to save custom buildings and reapply them without too much work. This is a feature I would like to see, but not so urgent.
Two main use cases (maybe some of these are already viable with other features, just saying):
1. Save duplicate labor. If players could save designs and reuse them like prefabs, the building process would be much faster. This can be used for either components in megastructures as well as in small villages.
2. Share between players.
Minimum viable product for this idea: The player can select a box of voxels and save it in the blueprint system. The player can then automatically build this box in the game world. Blueprints can be shared between players as long as the blueprint system can generate and read blueprint files.
Later on, it would be possible to add an option to select a building instead of a box.

Dragon Quest Builders 2 has a great blueprint system that lets you save things you see in the world to a custom made blueprint that you can lay down on your island to build it. Something similar to this would def be cool. One other aspect of that is if you have the materials needed to construct it in a chest, the npcs will build it for you. Another fun option for a new npc a builder who can help build or maybe even clear rubble on their own or fix existing structures if they exist within your altar area if they are provided the materials. -

DarXydeI was planning to add this suggestion, but kept scrolling through and found yours. I think in order to keep it viable and in-line with the game's vision, the blueprints should have some limitations, i.e. certain amount of blocks or size. So potentially not a complete house, but a full decorated wall, an arch, or even a statue would be reasonable.

NFor every game that has building piece by piece, I wish it had template building. The reason is because every player that builds piece by piece ruins the immersion of the game by building utter atrocities that are completely anachronistic. I understand that some people spend a lot of time building piece by piece to make masterpieces, but the vast majority of players will make monstrosities that will ruin my experience and I just want to make something that fits into the world. I don't play fantasy games to be reminded of real life. I would love to have buildings that are beautiful in lore-rich design and simply have a function to possibly increase the size (and building materials necessary) if you want to stretch it longer or wider (or both). It's fine if the template builds an empty house, for example, but I would hope that it would have snap ins for furniture and even have a suggested layout (preferably multiple layouts) for how you could/should place furniture to support lore.

RaygorI came here to add the same suggestion. I like the idea of building, but I kinda suck at it. I would love a few premade building prototypes. Even if I had to wait for a Carpenter quest to get them. The building system is really flexible, which is great. Please consider this!

Isaiah YeahYES, I was just imagining this... I am not a builder...I enjoy it until I hit a wall where I can't quite get the outcome I'm imagining. I would like to see somthing like the Gallery in the Sims where players can show off their builds and allow you to drop them in your world, resources required should be accounted for unless creative worlds become a thing? This would require some sort of world edit tools.

Farmer JohnVoted! Would definitely love the option to create a blueprint based on a specified cube range so I can just reuse it and stuff all the ingredients needed until it's complete. It makes creating the same type of small outposts across the map easier instead of manually assembling it all over. :)

LachieYeah would love to be able pickup blueprints spread throughout the universe. Pin it as a recipe and then either build it all at once or have a semi transparent overlay that when you hit that voxel with your hammer it pulls and places the appropriate block from your inventory.

boilingIt is best to save the blueprint file in an easy-to-read way such as json, which is convenient for users to replace and modify the blueprint content. At the same time, the automatic construction in the blueprint can refer to mc's early blueprint mod. Enter materials in the container or interactive point of the blueprint placement point to complete the construction. Finally, we hope that the blueprints have preview and preemption functions, so that we can see the final display effect of multiple blueprints before the blueprints are completed.

Sanspineapple MergedI have no real desire to craft a house for myself and truly find it tedious and tend to just give up on building structures. It would be really nice to have the option to select from a prebuilt list so I can just select a building and have all the resources needed to just auto assemble it.

Malicor MergedAdd a tool to select segments of space for replicating things you've already built and save it, that way you can rebuild things that you have already built and can duplicate the selection. I would like to see it able to select very large areas of space.
I have built several awesome buildings and areas that I would like to replicate and not have to build again from scratch, and a tool like this would save a lot of time! -

mr.kronkThe building system as it stands is great but I don't personally like to spend the time custom building a fancy house. I know some people repurpose existing buildings in the world and fix them up, but then it doesn't really feel like mine and neither do I want to have my base permanently be the utilitarian square box I made to start with (I'm hard to please, I know). So being able to have some pre-set blueprints that you pick up as you explore would be fantastic - like another way to level up your base. I think from a quest perspective it would be just like the quests you get that reward you with a new building material. People who like building themselves can still do so, and those of us who are less creatively inclined can still have a stylish base.
An associated idea I had, you could introduce a builder NPC who builds the blueprint slowly over time - 1 voxel block every 10 seconds or 6 seconds, whatever sounds balanced. -

Steve MergedInstitute a system that lets you plan out builds without having to actually place blocks. This allows players to mess around with different build configurations with less hassle and not have to tear down builds that don’t workout the way they thought. Similar to the building system in Survival: Fountain of Youth.

Pifge MergedI propose introducing Building Blueprints for enhanced construction:
Pre-Construction Planning: Visualize structures before construction, aiding in better resource management.
Resource Efficiency: Accurately estimate resources, minimizing waste during the building process.
Construction Accuracy: Follow blueprints for precise and aesthetically pleasing buildings.
Collaborative Building: Share blueprints to encourage community collaboration and creativity.
In-Game Creativity: Promote experimentation with architectural designs for a more engaging gameplay experience. -

Eduardo MergedWhat if Enshrouded had a way to generate player bases from other worlds into your world? We could add hostile NPCs/mercenaries to defend the generated base. I'm assuming a cloud service and connection to the internet would like be needed to upload the player worlds and to generate the world. For balance purposes:
- The generated bases would have considerably less and worse loot compared to the original base. And the loot should be more adequate to the region (example: no iron/bronze bars in the base chests for a generated base in the level 1 biome).
- The generated bases won't have workbenchs or unique stations to craft items.
- Depending on the calculated wealth/quantity/values for the items stored in the chest, we could scale the number of guarding/roaming hostile NPCs/mercenaries close to the chest.
Advantages:
- More replayability as no run will ever be the same.
- The more emptier parts of the world would be more alive.
- It could scale well with difficulty settings o -

Daniella MergedUnfortunately, I cannot create my own theme and this is the most similar to what I want to offer.
It would be nice if it appears in game templates that we can do ourselves. For example: I want to build a long fence of a certain pattern, but I need to build a fence one block at a time. It's time consuming, so creating your own templates via the build menu will be a great feature. As an option, add the ability to copy already built blocks.
Thank you! -

Low Vision PlayerThis would be huge if say my brother and I want to venture out to a new seed (If they add them) and be able to take my base with me that I've built and paste it anyway I want it so use it on fresh worlds for a brand new experience this would actually be huge only problem is that the builds I do at Level 4 Flame altar radius ones and you can only place down a Level 1 Flame Altar so this is where things would start to get tricky they would have to remove build range difference locked behind different flame altar levels and jsut one fixed build range then you can pick up the blueprints of something big and replace where you'd like to have it without any complications.

Alexander GraceI would love this, Look into the game "Planet Explorers". It was another Voxel esc game.
They gave you a huge 3D blueprint map and you could create WHAT EVER you wanted. You chose what resource you could craft it out of and it made a blueprint. Then, you go out into the world and find the resources and craft the item. The item stats would then be based off of what you built into it with the resources. Loved this. -

MatCzAs a player of games with active workshop blueprint-sharing I can strongly recommend a general workshop (on steam?) for player builds. This would lead to more creative activity on top the general game since we can share the madness of what has been created on our own.

TyphonThis is kind of mixed with me... Mostly as I like to think out of the box when it comes to building things, and I have a high dislike of folks on YT for similar games like ARK that say to do it this way as it's the best way. TO me the best way is the one that works for your playstyle.

MarkAdd a change in the materials from which the building is currently created. For example, I built a house out of stone, and now I want to rebuild it into wood or vice versa. Now I have to completely demolish the building for this. :((

Lazaany MergedIt would be great to have a blueprint system where you can save completed builds, allowing you to reuse them in another location or a new save.
The system could work in two ways:
1. As a new tab located in the same section as your skills, backpack, and crafting tabs.
2. As a new piece of furniture, like a "blueprint table"
Both approaches would work well.
Additionally, This would also make it possible to share created blueprints and download blueprints created by other players and add them to your server. (by adding them in a blueprints map on your computer/server) -

Luiz MergedThe game's pre-made shape system is excellent.
And observing how it works, I imagined a way to add custom options.
Imagine that the user is able to create their own pre-made shapes, say, in a new option in the Construction Hammer. There could be a way for the user to select two points to form a cube of blocks, creating a shape.
The game could read and store the quantity and types of blocks within this selection of two points creating a pre-made shape.
And later the user could use this shape in the Construction Hammer, in a custom shapes section, to help create the bases in the game. -

FlattsCame to add this. Functionality it would allow you to capture/save a box/block range. Like X#/Y#/Z# and saves it exactly as is. End goal for me: bring buildings/towns renovated into other worlds. Not a game dev so not sure if difficulty. Maybe it has to place exactly at same XYZ where save was made. (When adding to diff server) Ingame rules/limitations I'm Switzerland. Make it need resources or not, limit to one building or size, or not.

Reyan MergedI’d love to see a unique NPC like **The Architect** added to the game. This character could unlock **custom blueprints**, allowing players to design and save their own building layouts. Whether it’s a compact house, a sprawling fortress, or a gothic cathedral, players could reuse these designs anywhere in the world.
**Custom shapes** would take creativity further. Things like curved roofs, pointed arches, and spiral staircases would let players craft truly unique structures.
Additionally, The Architect could introduce **architectural styles**—like elven elegance, dwarven robustness, or runic patterns—that fit the fantasy setting. Each style would offer visual and functional diversity, making every base feel personal and unique.
Finally, The Architect could offer **mechanical features** like secret doors, drawbridges, or traps, adding utility and strategy to builds. This would make construction not only practical but also artistic and immersive, perfect for personal proje -

Kidscapes MergedA suggestion has been made for buildings that could be put down. I'm suggesting a slightly different blueprint system. By saving not a building stamp but the contents of a flame altar it could then in some way, such as with an NPC, be loaded into a new game at the same place. If you love your village you could bring it to a new play. You could import a little cabin into a group game. Players less interested in building could use the system and some standard included maps to repair base-able locations like Fort Kelvin. Or at least get some grunt work out of the way.

GrimHolder MergedThe ability to design, save, and transfer structures in the form of file and share it with the community. The more important feature being the ability to task an NPC(s) with their construction so long as you feed them the appropriate materials. Could be an altogether new Survivor.
Add. I don't know if something of this nature has been suggested. Given the climate of builder games like this it may very well have.
