Voice chat would be awesome, maybe with a discord plugin or something? At least text chat... if you play on fullscreen you can't read discord and this game would really improve coop playing if you could talk with other players

I would say the game needs some sort of in game chat or Prox chat. A open world multiplayer game needs communication.

How is it that this game has no way to communicate with other players in the game itself? No voice chat, no text based chat.... I get most people use Discord, but you don't always have everyone in discord at all times, nor are you going to be playing with only people you know all the time.

If you add a chat window, i'd love if text appeared above the characters head, always loved this feature in games, or a way to turn that sort of text display on, so I don't need the chat box open to see what they said. And it more personally links text to a character allowing for more immersive roleplaying.

I am deaf and I am appalled that there is no text chat in this game. It is unrealistic for deaf players to constantly alt tab back and forth to type to each other while playing the game. My friends and I are all deaf.

My friend can't use voice chat so we need a chat box to be able to talk together. The missing of it makes it harder to communicate because we now have to use text message on phones. Which takes away from experience and play time.

I can't believe this feature hasn't gotten more upvotes. It should up there in the top 5.

This single feature is perhaps preventing the game from exploding in popularity because of the fact that you're basically limiting people to playing with close circles of friends on discord.

Without a way to communicate, there can also be no roleplaying between players. This eliminates another demographic from enjoying the game together (i.e., those players who enjoy RP).

Please add this critical feature ASAP!

yes, an ingame text chat is essential in this kind of games. its not even an mmo so theres no risk of bots spamming or anything.

usa had the excuse of some law that made it difficult to implement text chat without a myriad accessibility options, but this is developed in eu.

I would say, adding text chat is very crucial in a multiplayer game. I was really shocked to find out there were non in the game. This should be a top 5 suggestion.

Hey there. It'd be really great to see a voicechat-feature added to the game, which could (optionally, toggleable per world) be based on distance from player to player, with things like the voices of the players echoing in caves etc., would be great for immersion.

This is a must.

1. Some people just cannot use external voice chat (deaf/unable to speak/etc.)
2. A game built around collaboration where you can't talk to other people on public servers is a severely degraded experience.
3. Sometimes people just don't feel like being on voice - perhaps they can't want to listen to the game music/sounds, but want to be able to communicate with others on the server.

there is the possibility to send TEXT, in CHAT, and also to use VOICE, voice communication, and also to give different SIGNALS to the players, and the possibility of "emoticons", and other signals that help communication.

I have a group of friends who are deaf including me and we need a chat in game for us to communicate. Way to make this game with no accessibility. Please add the chat so we can chat instead of using discord/twitch chat.

I would play the game if it had an ingame text chat, preferably one that makes a speech bubble float above your character when you enter something you typed.
Also have other options to the chat window like "server wide", "local/say", "map/zone", maybe "party" chat, etc
-also add loot, exp notifications there too, and maybe a damage log too (like GW2 mmo's "combat log" as a reference) but combat log isn't that important but the other stuff I mentioned would be great if they were added.

Communication is key in a game . it gets better. You can not prevent someone from going into your base and stealing everything in your chest. Including your chest (basic chest).

Idk, just think about deaf peoples. Should be enough. If we can choose pronouns on discord channel then maybe we can give deaf peoples possibility to chat in-game? Sounds like good idea.

yes please. i have a friend who's deaf and the only way we can communicate in games is using text chat.
I mean for now we can use Steam's chat window but it's annoying we have to do this :/

Totally in favor, I love having this option in this kind of games, it always favors immersion, roleplay and makes the game better for everyone. Take the example of Lethal Company, the game would lose a lot if it didn't have this option.

A close friend of mine is totally and permanently deaf, and while he really likes what y'all have going with Enshrouded, it's difficult for him to communicate with us when we have to use outside resources (such as Discord or Steam Chat through the overlay), and has resulted in player deaths and miscommunication. An easy-to-access and use in-game text chat system would resolve this issue and give this game greater accessibility for our fellow community members.

It’s so weird that it wasn’t implemented right away. I have to assume it’s coming later on, but needing to rely on discord to talk to people is kind of a pain- especially if you play on a laptop with just the one screen

its kind of funny to see a multiplayer game without a chat, i dint know it was possible to play in multiplayer without any form of communication lol, its look like multiplayer is in barebone state atm berly implemented.

In a game where you are able to have so many players in one world, there simply needs to be some form of communication. Proximity chat would be awesome in my personal opinion, but a text chat should be available as default.

I have had a discussion on Discord regarding the implementation of chatingame, it seems that it is a decision made not to implement it, however, it prefers to feed the discord company, encouraging people to use Discord for communication.

They do not take into account the roleplay nor the ingame interaction when creating a chat, I have been waiting for this title for many months and it arrives without a chat. quite sad.

The refund is made.

I will buy it again when it can be communicated legitimately within the game itself and not depend on a company like Discord.
