Move objects (like storage containers) that have already been placed in build mode
Right now the only way to move object that have already been placed is to pick them back up into your inventory and place them down. or in the case of storage containers fully empty them...then pick them up and place them back down. We should be able to simply go into build mode, select a placed object and move it to a new location regardless of what's in it already. Only exception would be objects on a table, those would have to be moved first before the table. but other than that everything else should be auto moveable.

I think this would be a huge improvement. Being able to hold F or other key to allow moving boxes that have items in them, instead of having to pull everything out, then physically pick up the box. -

JesseMoving flame alters get my vote. The only way to move these seems to be to rebuild from scratch. First two levels aren't bad but after that the resources are scarce.

oh.its.a.fayeStrongly agree! Moving stuff (maybe with the need of the Building Wand?) would make things SO much easier. Especially if you fully equipped a shelf with decorations and have to pick every little piece by itself (well, if you remove the shelf you have floating cups, but...)

AC 0131 EDIIt would also be excellent to be able to move storage containers with their contents intact. Having to empty them first feels unintuitive. Think about boxes in real life. you fill them up with theings THEN move them.

1gamerdadThis would be epic. For instance I shouldn't have to remove everything from a storage container just to move it's position. It would be nice to just be able to use build mode and grab it and place it again

TheGrey08This would be great. A simple QoL that makes adjusting/expanding your base so much less time consuming.

BoatsAt a minimum, allow moving storage boxes without having to empty them first, please.

SovereignI came here for this. Absolutely loving the game and it's apparent the Devs care about QoL issues and usability. My biggest issue with base management right now is moving containers with items in them. The hassle of emptying a container and finding a place for those items in order to move the container is a real pain point for me. It would be great to be able to pick up containers (with items in them) and move them around as needed.
I'm also loving the idea of moving decorated items like tables & shelves with the items on them. Perhaps a "blueprint" system (see Satisfactory's implementation of this) or something similar would be a useful feature? -

KreigarGrounded does this right - you can simply move chests, along with all of their contents. Getting chest storage organized and looking decent is incredibly painful in these games without this feature. This is a no-brainer.

KruessWould also upvote the feature of being able to move placed objects. Kinda annyoing, cumbersome, and an overall poor and tedious experience to have to empty out a chest just to be able top place it elsewhere (or to transfer them to another chest elsewhere). TO add, I would like the ability to quickly transfer items from one chest to another, but I do know this could be risky for item duplication (as much as some would love this to be possible).
Would make sense if this is gated by being in build mode, or while using the construction hammer.
This should encompass decorations, workbenches/workshops and alters. -

SkjoldurI fully agree.
Even moving full chests wouldn't be a game breaking feature, as the movement is restricted to the flame area, incl. overlapping ones, and teleporting is restricted. -

Aluna MergedPlease let us move furniture without having to pick it up first.
This is not only but especially relevant for storage chests and displays!!
Whenever I want to move a Mannequin or museum display for example, I need to click into its UI, then into every single slot, remove every single item (which also requires the inventory space for it!), close UI, pick it up, go to inventory to move it to a hotbar slot, place it again, open UI again and click into every single slot again to put every single item back to its place.
For storage chests you need to move their entire, expansive inventory around just to move them a few cm.
This is insane hassle and neither user friendly, nor realistic.
Letting us simply grab and move furniture would be a big QOL improvement even for stuff like tables because you don't have to go to your inventory, replace a hotbar item with the furniture to place it and then slot your hotbar item again when you're done.
Please! -

AlunaWhy is this so undervoted? The hassle you currently go through for moving a storage box and especially displays/mannequins even just a bit is unbeliavable

superpebble Mergedso I got to making a large chess board, using the manniquines as chess pieces and got to thinking. I'm gonna have to strip these chess pieces down just to move them and then dress them back up again every time I want to move the chess piece. that is undoubtedly going to suck. this is going to suck. but this is not what I would regard as a high priority task. but if eventually someone got around to fixing this, that would be appreciated.

Evelynn MergedPLEASE, for the love of the gods, PLEASE make it so that we can move the storage boxes WITHOUT having to remove everything from the boxes first. Also, speaking of movement... can you please make it easier to move base locations to a new spot without having to dismantle every single, tiny, little thing? I've spotted soooo many cool locations that I would love to have as my base since adventuring and exploring, but I've already built a HUGE gorgeous home at the first spot where I placed the first Flame Altar.

Charm MergedI'd love to be able to adjust the placement of things like the flame altar and storage boxes without restrictions. At the moment I have to empty an entire storage box to move it, I think there should be a move tool that allows for items to be moved around your area, and a rotate tool for the flame altar.

PaulJAgreed, there aren't any game physics tied to items inside storage afaik in Enshrouded, so why does this limitation exist in this game? At most, you have a pointer on the item itself "This thing is located inside storage ID# 123". Nothing about that seems to indicate why you can't move storage # 123. The things inside it aren't really "inside" of it, they're just labels on the things themselves "oh yeah this thing is inside storage # 123".
Sure, there's potential bugs like what if the player picks up the storage, but then deletes/salvages it... what happens to the contents? Or they're carrying it but suddenly their computer crashes. But see, even those aren't insurmountable problems. If moving filled containers is "dangerous", then maybe move an illusionary copy of it first, like when you're trying to place a flame altar - i.e. show a movable illusion first and only do the actual move after the player has clicked to confirm to place it somewhere. -

DSC MergedWould it be possible to add a 'Move Structure' tool? I don't mean to move any type of building (a block restriction would be necessary, plus them having a 'solid' foundation) but it would help when constructing large projects like villages, where often a miscalculation means you need to tear down (mostly) everything you have built.
On the other hand... A tool to 'swap' already placed blocks for a different kind of blocks (within same type! Not swapping Roof tiles for normal building blocks) would also be a helpful addition, seeing as how every patch we keep getting new, gorgeous blocks to build with. -

CrankShadeAfter several hours of building the first base, I've found my friends (as new players) do the same beginner mistakes initially because they don't realize how big the base perimeter can get, and then they get a sort of "buyer's remorse" with the placement of the altar several altar levels in. And you risk losing a lot of your town on the outskirts if you aren't prepared for the necessary altar upgrades (because you forgot what materials you need along the way) if you DO go through with the move (just to nudge it several meters or even little blocks)

SarahLenoreAgree. I also play ESO and in housing mode you can link together several items and move the "parent" item and everything moves together. I would love to be able to move a fully-decorated table by dragging it across a room with everything on it still in place. I don't want to put 15 items back into my inventory and reset them just because I wanted to add a door remove a wall or something.
