NPC Combat Companions / Assistant / pets / NPCs
It would be nice to have voiced npcs that follows you around acting as companions and help in battle. Providing maybe lore, comments on places, suggestions like patching up wounds. Something that makes it immersive and make the game feels less dead. Honestly prefer NPC compared to real players because as of now loots are not shared. Also having a healer while you're a close quarter solo is great, or having a npc tank while you're shooting arrows is also great.

LiXiongzhi MergedThe problem: In the game, the player's productivity is stretched thin compared to the game's huge and elaborate building system, especially solo players.
My suggestion: My idea is to add teammate AI in the follow-up update, and the offline teammates will be taken over by AI, which can help collect basic materials, and even when players are not playing, their own characters are controlled by AI to participate in production and collection (players can hang up and watch).Regarding the teammate AI, when no other players have joined, the server administrator can add a teammate taken over by the AI, and the AI teammate's stats are just blank. When a new player replaces an AI into the game, the server administrator has the option to replace the current AI's character template with the same character as the player. This will make players with rare attributes more popular with the various servers, which will increase the enjoyment of the game. -

Raven Tahar MergedWould be extremly nice to have Guards like Archers, Swordmans and knights in a highend Base. This is for many years a dream for me for a game like this. It should be make sure that placing Guards cost alot Materials so nobody can exploit guards for dungeons etc.

Jeremiah Crowley MergedThe ability to have more NPCs to hire for combat / resource gathering / auto production.
It would be really cool to build a fully operational village with NPCs that are helping gather resources, hunt, and defend (if raids come to the game) your base from enemies.
Could be pretty sweet to have 10 fighters stationed at your base and have a wave of enshrouded enemies show up to attack your base and to defend it with your NPC team! -

Dylan Hoke MergedIt would be awesome to meet the NPCs in the quest areas and have them be interactive and voice acted. There are several points in time where i wish i knew something about the area the quest was in instead of guessing oh this had to be that. It would be awesome to feel the story from their perspective.

FalkWegweiser MergedIt would be nice if thje NPC's really could talk. Also it would be nice if they could follow you to aid you in some tasks. To claim them with a fancy staff just to place them inside your base seems odd.

Mike SLet you choose one of the 5 survivors as an adventuring companion, each with their own fight style. Like, Carpenter = tank, alchemist = ranged mage, hunter = ranged bow, farmer = healer, blacksmith = melee warrior. You can choose who to bring based on your own play style

PleutCan we also have more survivors? The world feels quite lonely while there are a lot more flameborn pods than actual flameborn that are not hostile.
-

WillI had an idea today for how to implement this into the game world so it makes sense. They're artisans, workers, farmers that were also sealed away to survive just as the current NPC's are. Not even as follower companions, but to help with resource collection, and farming etc.

IlnaIt would be amazing to have an npc helping in combat. Feels weird to have my cool blacksmith guy only chill at home despite wielding a massive hammer.
I also have noone to play with, so venturing out into the world for more specific materials is a lonely ordeal that never feels great.
It could be a branch in the talent tree to limit the effectiveness of teaming up with an npc vs going solo in a proper damage build. -

blackarrowproI think, in lieu of having a full NPC following us, it might just be nice to have a small non-sentient companion, like a gently-illuminating sprite or a firefly. Think Spyro. Sometimes it gets lonely on the roads in Enshrouded and it would be nice to have something small alongside the player.

Dan BrewerBeing real, I just don't have the time to deal with real people, and at this point in my life, I don't even enjoy playing games with my friends lol. I just enjoy playing solo. On my own time, but in a game world like this, it feels lonely. Give me a few NPC's to follow me around, and that feeling disappears to a point. There are not a lot of games that embrace this idea. Break the mould! You can create synergies with them, and feel like a team. Let me customize their gear, builds etc... would be incredible. Just giving my 2 cents. Game looks amazing so far. Thanks for your hard work, dedication, and listening to player feedback.

pufaeysseNPC that could follow you, help with battle. Ability to give them armor, weapons and a backpack. Ability to give them simple commands, like stay here, go to that spot, atack a certain enemy, mainly focus on melee/defense/rain arrows from safe distance/heal, collect loot etc.
If given an instrument, as you use an instrument yourself, NPC will join you playing the same melody, and help you extend the rested bonus time
pets that could follow, help with combat and serve as a distraction, follow simple commands
mounts that you can ride/fly or have them follow you, help with combat, follow simple commands -

Visigoth_With the "Pets/ Animals" update, I was hoping that I could "tame" a "big cat" companion to take with me on my adventures (I realize the difficulty/ complexity/ work required to do so: Agent Pathing and dealing with "elevation changes" especially Gliding)... 🤞 not gonnan hold my breath but sure would enjoy it!

ShadowMarineDenverDave23 on reddit was saying using the summoning staff would be a good work around to followers getting stuck places. Or if you gilde somewhere they teleport to where you land.
I just want to have some battle buddies when all my friends have got off the game for the night. -

Monkey King MergedI agree, esp if you are a solo player and running a squishier build. A nice tanky armored wolf or boar combat pet would be wonderful.

Matias MergedHey, at first I want to say the game is until now great yet.
My Idea is to upgrade the flame altar. For me the space for own buildings is big enough, but it would be interesting to get other "altarskills", so that the all productions work after logging out for a few minutes. With every upgrade the should longer and the NPC´s could collect some materials. -

Py MergedA summonable, upgradeable familiar with different utilities depending on what it is. A wolf, a crow, a mean goat, etc. Craftable whistle item to summon and give them simple commands in combat, like directing them to attack a specific enemy.
"Beastmaster" skill tree branch would contain the buffs for this, giving that branch more identity.
Lore-wise, maybe this is a bit more like a Flame-based spirit summon to explain why they can enter the Shroud. They could have a small quest to unlock them, similar to the villagers, or even "craft" them from remains. -

Arturia MergedDear Enshrouded Team,
I truly appreciate the existing functional NPCs, but as a player who primarily enjoys solo experiences, I would love to see the addition of a few new companion-type NPCs with more dynamic and interactive behavior.
It would be wonderful if some NPCs could adventure alongside players, with their own goals, personalities, and dynamic behaviors. They might suggest exploring ruins or hunting together, or be invited by the player to join adventures. If possible, adding a relationship or affinity system would make this even more immersive.
For solo players like myself, having meaningful, interactive, and evolving relationships with such companion NPCs would add a deeply immersive and emotionally engaging layer to the experience.
Thank you for considering this idea! -

Duke MergedIt would be great to have the ability to assign these villagers to working parties. Example: Send 2-3 villagers out with one of the Warrior or Hunter types to mine coal, chop trees, etc. and once they finish their assignment they return to the Village with the resource. Right now other than the main ones they are a bunch of free-loaders, lets make them earn their keep.
A second option to this would be the ability to establish existing mines and placing Villagers there to work the mines and stash the resources in an available chest. -

AntonioA hint, which I wanted to write , having played games like Fallout 4 and Skyrim , a follower who follows you and fights with you , has always made me comfortable , but suggest an intriguing little feature , only one follower at a time , Summonable character with a new summoning wand suitable for followers, but with recharge time , which means recharge time , that my follower is not immortal , if it is eliminated and the summoning wand 'for followers is not reloaded , I cannot summon again , My follower, nor can I call any other follower. The idea of a follower , be good thing , but I have noticed that they come, taken more into consideration ideas , which contain both positive and negative sides , so as not to make too unbalanced or lightened the game , in proposals like these , I find it good thing , enter both a bonus and a malus

BluSleeperIf you are a lone player most of the time, it is great to have the ability to tame pets. For magic users, familiars. For hunter types any kind of animal and so on. It would be nice to have your pet grow as well from a cub to a beast depending on type of pet. After a certain size pets can also be rideable. With slightly high speed depending on their environment. Some are better in snow like snow leopards, some better at climbing like spiders. This will enable greater variety in the game. And these mounts can have a flag mounted on the side like a banner and such.

Tyrnial Mergedthe enjoyment of having a loyal companion like a dog or any other pet / breed following you on your adventure that assists you in combat. With different stances like
1. aggressive: attacks anything in a certain range.
2. assist: attacks any target you attack.
3. defend: attacks anyone that attacks you.
4. passive: remains at your side but doesn't engage in combat.
maybe add them to beastmaster as a class only? -

Blimesh MergedI want to expand on the current pet system. There are enemies with wolves and sabers through out the game and there is already a integrated taming system. I was think of something through the huntress or perhaps a new NPC like a trapper that focuses toward combat pets. I was thinking of a stable system that allows you to have a summoning hot wheel with 5 slots and a storage stable that can hold say 30 pets. Combat pets can not breed and are player locked. The pets could be tamed as babies in the wild or from a rare drop item. I'm thinking everything from wolves to the fell dragon from the castle. some could be more common while leaving so as late game quest rewards or rare finds in hidden areas. the Pets should come with a whistle command wheel with basics like recall, attack, stay and so on. pets should also have stats for defense, attack, speed, and perhaps a few with special abilities.
