Bedroll / sleeping bag Please for Explorers
Given that the night cycle can be sped up by sleeping it would be very nice for us scouts and explorers to have a deployable bedroll to sleep on. RIght now we have to drop a flame altar and carry a full blown bed with us if we want to do this. A temporary item we can place regardless of if in a buildable area would be a huge QoL improvement.

KDragonA bedroll would be pretty helpful for sure. I dont know how many times I've hunted down a bed in an empty camp or in an abandoned house. While thats fun on its own for exploration, having a deployable bedroll for when youre in the wilderness would be a good QoL improvement

TaylerBootzI kind of like the being stuck out at night aspect. See a house or a tent and find a cot or bed. I enjoy that the game isn't too difficult, and the bed finding makes it fun for me.

drsmittyMaybe also option to deploy different levels of campsites that impart rested buffs, the fancier the camp the better the buff.

MaximilianPsAbsolutely agree, sometimes you have to travel for days and having a way to create a bedroll is necessarily unless you want to wait all the night sitting on the ground watching the fire.

snaxPerhaps learning how to craft a tent after having rescued/recruited the hunter could be a cool way to implement this

ForaxenCould be a nice addition, but I think the devs did put beds in many of the ruins that can be used for that purpose.

AvatarI don't need a bedroll, but my god I would really like it if SO MANY of the beds you find in towns or shelters are not broken beds that just screw you.

Cali6anI also found the search for usable beds within camps or settlements to be an important part of my exploration routine. Wouldn't want to miss it, even though the idea of making camp on the road seems interesting.

Tera Fireheart MergedI'd love to carry bedrolls around like a campfire, and maybe we only put them down when a campfire is placed. So we can retrieve the bedroll after the night turns to day. (I've spent half of most nights looking for an unbroken bed because I don't want to travel back to the village I'm raiding from a base.)

WJS MergedAllow placing of the most basic furniture like firefly lamps, stools, bedrolls etc. outside of flame altar areas. Bedrolls could be crafted by the huntress.

KlutchNcougH MergedConsider adding an early game item, Bedroll, that will allow the player to sleep while on the go to accelerate time through the night.

DaytonaDoes anyone know if this bedroll/tent suggestion will be implemented? I personally think it would be a great idea because I do find myself being stuck out in the open a lot when it suddenly turns to night.

Syze00A bedroll or a larger campfire with a tent that acts as a save point if you are done adventuring but too far away that you don't want to give up the progress you've made by being fast travelled back to base. Make it work only outside on grass and you can only have one per player at a time

PaulJI for sure like the RP aspect of this, but it's already too easy to just plop down a temporary flame altar then teleport back to the comfort of your base to sleep at night.
I feel like the designers kinda painted themselves into a corner by making teleporting this convenient, but it would be too late to change this functionality, at least not without pissing off the player base since they would've had multiple versions to get used to how it works.
Having to set up camp would be great for both RP AND gameplay if they'd managed it from the start. Right now however I don't see any kind of camping mechanic happening because it's just easier to flame portal back to base and then flame portal back to resume exploring. Frankly for this thread I think the answer may simply be to use the beds you find out there in the various ruins if you REALLY don't want to deploy a temporary flame altar to return to base at night. -

Riv MergedIt's just a little thing that would be helpful during long explorations, especially while entering new biomes. And sometimes it's hard to just find a bed in the world to rewind the night time ;)

JeremyI'd prefer a middle ground - a camp site. Takes a little bit of time to set up, acts as a respawn point and fast travel beacon so you don't have to drop an altar, and you can only have one. Places a tent with a roll, and a small campfire you can cook at.

rykkYes. Please. Sleeping bag. We can dig a hole for shelter, drop a fire to stay warm, but we can't sleep? There is no way a person wouldn't make a sleeping bag and make it part of their kit if they were trying to survive like this. But mainly, I want a place to rest in the wilderness. Beds can still give a better rested bonus and regen rate, but sleeping bags could be used just for the time skip. A lot of the time I am out of alter slots and I don't want to travel to camp or I'd have to walk a very long way.

ONI-JungeI think if we were to get a bedroll, it definitely shouldn't give a buff, but only make the night pass faster. Otherwise, it would be too overpowered.
