Make Armor and Rings Salvageable or Sold to A Vendor
Why do we just delete the armor and not be able to salvage it for runes like we do the weapons? We should make armor salvageable as well as be able to enhance the armor as well.

Seanthebuilder MergedIf anyone is a loot goblin like me you probably find yourself sitting on like 6 complete sets of all the findable armor pieces and rings like crazy.
It would be nice If we could do something with them aside from making a fake army of mannequins or having a literal wall of chests. Or deleting them.
Perhaps some sort of recycle/upgrade system? Add in component pieces that must be salvaged from previous gear to upgrade the piece to a higher tier. Could be combined with the rune coins in weapons, maybe something like armor fragments?
Or even give them tiers like the weapons and combine like things to achieve higher tiers? -

Doctor MergedOne has no idea how disappointing it is to find a piece of armor/ring/shield you already own or are already past it progress wise and leave it like that in a chest instead of salvaging it into runes.

LibertyI have a ton of armour by now, a chest full. There are only so many armour stands you can clothe. Being able to salvage it would be wonderful. Pretty please :)

Domagoj MergedBigger stacks of items- maybe have them all stack to 1000 like stone and stuff like that or at least for those that are max 50 get them to 100
Salvage armour- when you salvage armor you dont get runes you get materials from that armor -

vinicius MergedAs title, option to recycle them.
Just "delete" these items after carrying them around seems like a waste of time since them don't stack on stash. -

Emilio AmaralI think we could also be able to upgrade armors.
Each upgrade level, would unlock a bonus stat (just like weapons upgrade). -

Aethe3I loot a piece of useless (to me) gear out of the same gold chest that could have given me a weapon which would have salvaged for 100+ runes, instead I hit the delete button and any effort put in to GETTING to that gold chest was just flushed down the toilet.
Yeah, it'd be nice if lootable armor / rings (at least) were salvageable into runes or something else. I mean, dang, even if the armor just salvaged down into the logical "recoverable" crafting materials which the armor was made out of that would be 1.0m%+ better than that dreaded delete button.
Please do something about this. -

LinkGoesHIYAAAJust started playing with my partner and when we were able to salvage some weapons we figured clothing would be coming soon as well. Only just defeated the shroud well, or whatever it's called, and presumed a later NPC would give us the ability to salvage clothing and rings. If that's not a feature we unlock later then it seems like somewhat of an oversight and inconsistent with how we can do it with weapons. It'd make for a much nicer time to be able to salvage or sell these kinds of items instead of just throwing them away if that's currently the only option.

JoyelleI'd love to be able to break down armor, extra weapons and rings into raw materials (metal bars, cloth/padding etc). Perhaps a crafting station that does this.

RogerI think this is an excellent suggestion obviously adding that this should also be made in a way that instead of runes it gives back bit of resources so it would not be exploited for rune generation.

Ernst_LindemannSame goes for the shields you loot from the foes. You just have to dump them and get nothing in return.
Also the newly introduced Gems. Would be nice if the Gems could be stacked in the storage and not ONE OF THE SAME take up a seperate slot in the chest. -

OraAbsolutely! My thoughts exactly. If we can reuse old weapons to upgrade new ones, it's weird not to be able to do it for armour.
Also, this might be a separate suggestion, but it would make sense if you could recycle items into their base crafting materials. So, melt a weapon or piece of armour for metal, turn clothes into cloth, etc. -

JoshId also like to see the armor have rarity tiers like the weapons and have gem sockets. plus upgradable attributes similar to the weapons beside the base armor attributes. also once an armor has all the attributes fully unlocked we get the option to imbue a gem onto the armor. to balance it, the enemies would have to be reworked to make them slightly stronger based on the region with higher leveled areas requiring more refined armor sets and loadouts so you don't feel too overpowered. The first base armor set couldn't be upgraded or socketed with a gem to keep the balance.

PaulJHonestly ANY piece of gear should be salvageable, just like the game allows you to "Press (E) to dismantle" nearly anything (including things that have no business being manually dismantled, like friggen TREES).
So yeah, please slap a runes salvage price on everything so that players can take gear apart. The "Delete" feature should be a last resort lore-UNfriendly kludge; I mean, it doesn't even exist in most other games (because they logically already cater to the feature by providing dismantling/sell back to NPC/other methods). -

VoidAgreed, would love to see this. I don't understand the choice that was made with armor and rings as they stand. Why would only weapons be salvageable? Possibly make them tradable to the survivors for component parts, or make a "salvage table" that's unlocked in a quest (maybe the Carpenter) that breaks armor down into SOME components

Hugh Pharted?Along this line, make magical armor upgradable just like weapons/wands/staves with Runes, and recycle ones you don't want or need anymore for Runes.

Sean P.I support unlocking 1-2 vendors (Such as the smuggler lady) She will buy select items for a barter currency (create some sort of algoryth for them to replenish based on your hearth thorp) Also the other NPC's should be able to barter in their unique goods based on the total number of NPC's unlocked.

SolstremHow about making shields, common weapons, rings, etc. salvageable, but for materials instead of runes? That way we get the benefit of the material they were made of if not runes.

Mitch ALPSBetter ways to store and display these would at least make them semi-useful. Item frames, Jewelry boxes, displayed on mannequins.
Mannequin hands.
Make them useable by NPCs to change their attire. "Dress Up"
Otherwise yes some way to upgrade or scrap these is needed. -

Shak112 MergedWith time the Rings start stack up and once you get a good set, you only have 2 options leave them in the storage or destroy them, allow us to change them to runes too. and maybe level them Up or something?

donaldi like the vendor option. i would also like the vendor option for weapons even if it is the same amount as it adds realistic methods of selling loot

alexisray10 rings could be smelted into a gold bar or grinded into gold dust or something, with a chance of spawning one gem or something more valuable
armour could give metals or fabric or just some of the materials it was made of, with a chance to spawn a special gem or metal or ring etc.
weapon gems could also be salvageable, or even better, bring them to the Gem Forge and make upgrades of them, otherwise they are just wasted.
upgrade gems of lower levels, combine them to create better gems, higher level gems, but also costing essence of that level.
unlockable by quest, as a bonus thing to do with the gems and to give them more utility.
upgrade archaic essence, or find another use for it, otherwise it is just wasted. it could be used to make spell scrolls or something like that, some magic, maybe add it to farm soil for more growth, or to animal food for more loot. unlockable by a quest, so that it is a special thing, rather than 'standard' thing to do with the essence. -
