Camera Lag - Motion Sickness Reduction
Camera lag needs to be reduced or removed altogether while player is transitioning from forward, left, right, backwards into Front left, Front Right, etc.
The current effect moves the camera in an extremely unnatural manner causing extreme motion sickness over time.
To specify further, please reduce the delay call on camera movement during character actions by 0.2-0.3 milliseconds.
Generally the camera lag altogether causes extreme sickness if you could make this a toggleable accessibility option.
Either way.

I am prone to motion sickness and have difficulty playing Enshrounded for the following reasons:
- The camera should not interfere with the character, the Valheim system is perfect for me)
- The camera is too close to the character and there is no zoom.
- There is no option to remove shaking effects.
This game looks very promising to me, please fix the camera system so that we can play without getting sick after 15 minutes. -

Felipe MergedI agree with this. maybe alternate button + mouse scroll to zoom in and out of character rather than going to settings to adjust. but to add my personal preferences, i would also like to add 360 camera while gliding too.

Visigoth_Is there an artificial "limit" placed on posting? (I can't edit my comment!).

Agreed... it's noticeably bad (I thought it was just my potato PC causing it).
-
Edit:
Overall the Camera needs some rework; I'm under the impression that they are going for an "action combat" camera feel... if this is true, it does some weird things (but most of the functions work well in my opinion "like the auto centering is ok/ good enough, but the "Lock-on camera tilt/ adjustment is bad" my camera always ends up "looking over" the mob/ enemy, but that's another *thing.).
An "Action Camera" shouldn't "zoom in" on the character when sprinting (sprinting is a "traversal mode change," where you want the camera to "zoom out" for a better view that corosponds to reduced reaction time caused by the speed increase, and then "return to original zoom value" once sprinting ends.). 🤔👍 -

Deddonekku MergedHello, I hope this is the right place, but I have a problem with the camera in this game and I'm not sure if I'm missing an option or something.
The camera gives me motion sickness, and I found a few posts on Reddit and Steam discussions about it, but I haven't seen any fixes, mods, or news on whether this is intended or a bug that will be fixed in the future.
The video shows the issue at the 3-second mark when running diagonally, the camera zooms in abruptly.
I'm new to this game, so maybe I missed something.

Jack MergedSuper agree! My wife and I love this game but we can only play for brief amounts of time before she gets motion sickness.
Mainly due to the camera being close to the character. Perhaps increasing the FOV limit? -

LibertyPlayed the game for months last year (2024). Just got back into it tonight and having a problem with motion blur/motion sickness after this week's latest update. Have previously had no problem at all. Settings / Accessibility options have made no difference. This is a new issue for me since the update.

Taio MergedAgree. I have zoomed out the camera like 1000 times but it still is zoomed back in a few moments later

vinThis has been added under Settings->Accesibility->Reduce Dynamic Camera Motion. It reduces left, right, forward, and backward camera motion. However, up and down camera motion seems to still be high.

Peter FlindtMotion sickness problems too and I play in window mode. :/ But I am not sure if the camera lag is the reason.

Aki MergedI agree, not only when moving when mining zooming backwards seems to be completely unnecessary feature, basically have to mine eyes closed

Karl MergedHere to add my part. Game looks super fun, however the camera, especially when you sprint and turn left or right is just awful. I've changed settings around to try fix it, reduce dynamic camera motion, FOV, camera distance, etc. Nothing helps, yet when you run backwards and do it, it's nowhere near as bad...

Siggy MergedMy spouse has motion sickness when she plays this game and we've done everything we could to combat it.
Limit fps to 30
Moved camera back
Increased FOV
There's not much else that can be done at this point with such limited options. -
