NPC designated work locations
I would like it if NPCs could have designated work areas—a place they would wander near and idle by. Maybe they could look like they are working or interacting with stuff in that area for most of the in-game day, before wandering elsewhere during "free time" and eventually heading to their beds.
I'm mostly requesting this so the crafters can also wander and feel like part of the community, instead of being set to 0m because I can't be bothered to look for them in my village. I just want them to be somewhere easy to find but not feel like a lifeless statue.

NobleOMordha MergedSo currently the farmer stands in a corner or walks around as much as the other NPC's do which I will try and make a post for those to. As far as the farmer you are able to make planter beds and other stations. With these stations and with the NPC you can craft items and food, but I feel there is a lot of missed QOL that can be done. Instead of her standing there make a manager tool where with each station you can assign tasks for her to do and be able to switch the stations to the next task when the first is finished. Also, instead of the farmland just be random built and managed by the player do a grid-based cropping. Under the same system manager tool for the stations, you can show all crop plats within the Flame and add what seedlings you want planted, very similar style to Medieval Dynasty game. This would add such a great QOL to the game. With this being added it would motivate players more to provide individual homes to each NPC and not have one room with all of them.

LiteratiI really like the idea of npcs having specific objects/furniture they can interact with or have animations for. The crafters their crafting stations, but then other related furniture for the villagers

Pixel HunterYes, I've been wanting to set "work areas" for NPCs.
* NPCs that are set to anything above 0 meter range can "hide" in the oddest places and are hard to find.
* NPCs that roam just wander aimlessly and don't "do anything", which breaks the RP immersion of the home base.
* NPCs set to 0 meter range just stand there and don't look like they're doing anything. And they won't path to their bed at night.
Allowing NPCs to have a designated work area where they look like they are doing their job, yet go to bed at night would be ideal and solve the above mentioned problems.
Perhaps being able to assign an NPC to a factory (i.e. Carpenter to the Table Saw) like you assign them to a bed would be the solution. They will stay within a few meters of the assigned factory and have work animations of them using that factory. At night, they'd retire to their assigned bed. -

OfraleIt would be much more interesting if the range for the NPC were not linked to their bed, but could be determined individually within a certain radius of their bed. For example, the blacksmith in the middle of the smithy could be given a radius of 10 m and then he would stay within that radius, and other town NPCs could be placed in the market or, for example, repositioned on the beach.
