  I love that the dogs and cats come pre-named, I don't want to change that at all. But it would be really cool if we could also name the goats, yaks, birds, armadillos.
  
  Advantages: Super cute. Could distinguish the initial animals we tame from the ones bred later. Could designate certain animals to keep while slaughtering others for food/resources. Probably more too.
  Drawbacks: None that I can think of. :)

  Pets and their names are a very personal thing for pet parents, often correlating to real life pets present and past. Not having 'naming' code in place for the initial launch of a pets feature is kind of mind blowing.

  Please allow players to give custom names to tamed animals. Naming pets and livestock makes settlements feel more personal and makes it much easier to tell animals apart. This is especially useful when players have multiple animals of the same type or breed specific animals for different purposes.

  I love the pet and animal system. Cats and dogs come with great names (Tyger, Captain Whiskers, Pompom), but I'd love to rename the animals I bring to my base — especially bred babies and my Paw's Touch buddies. Just a small name field when taming or from their base menu. A tiny bit of personalization that would make my base feel much more mine. 🐾
