Add more NPCs
We're supposed to be re-populating Embervale and that is hard to do with just 24 NPCs. Having more NPCs would mean that they could be spread around to more alters and it would be better for immersion to have more people populating the cities we build. More townsfolk and more crafts people would be good as well. It could provide more questlines and more lore.

No sorry....
REDUCE the NPC to 1 to 3, and make them more "life" and maybe the possible to do some simple tasks. With more life I mean, that the NPCs walk around like wood dolls, this is not "life". In sum, better a very limited number of NPC, but much better, than a mass of pointless and useless NPC. No, both is not possible, or what PC you want to use?
a) large bases are your problem. incl. that you need only one large house with beds. For smaller bases the number of NPCs is a problem. The NPCs have not any function, apart from the quests. It makes no different, if I ask Oswald for nails (That he craft in his trouser pockets) or that I craft the nails at the forge.
b) better "error handling" stuck in the ground, before doors. Error handling, with 27 NPCs+6 Pets?
c) A lot of players set the movement radius to 0m already. -

Talie SI think it would be cool if there were NPCs that had build requirements too. Like a wizard that wants a tower at a certain height so that they can properly see the stars, or the carpenter misses the feeling of a rare wood beneath their feet, or the blacksmith yerns for a trophy to prove the triumph of their weaponry. I love the NPC questlines already but think that going into their rooms and seeing the stories you have shared with them can make the experience more lively.
BTW I think this is related but not sure if it should be a separate item. -

ChrisI would like to be able to summon Hallows as NPCs in the base. Not to count towards survivor counts, but for crypts/graveyards or even just a mage tower ascetic.

JohnHonestly. Just having more basic NPS'c would be lovely to help make it feel more alive. Perhaps a simple mechanic that randomly spawns one from a larger pool if you find a graveyard. Or maybe bandits could be captured and re-integrated into society if you meet certain requirements in a town e.g. spare houses or beds?
