Woodcutting skill that makes chopped wood go directly to inventory
A woodcutting skill where, when the player chops down trees, the items go directly into their inventory. If the backpack is full, the wood items fall to the ground.

I'd like to suggest that all resources get forced to drop to the ground as I found along my journey that harvesting trees leaves resources floating in the air, this is moderately annoying and makes harvesting slow and clunky. -

SkoukejnEverything cut should go into inventory without any skill in my opinion (finding shroud mushroom sucks).

DarenaIf there is something that I hate in this game, it's farming wood on a slope, and the wood skates off like it has wheels, directly off of a cliff or down into lava or Red Shroud, never to be retrieved.

PaulJ+1. I never understood why mining get autopickup but not collecting other resources. Why the distinction? It just feels scummy if the designers actually intended for e.g. chopping wood to be able to drop logs that fall down the slope and out of reach of the player. Chopping for shroud liquid or aloe vera also feels like another middle finger to the player. Have fun pixel hunting for that green thing that just fell in the green grass nearby! That's not fun, that's annoying for no reason. Why is something annoying for no reason in the game?

ArcticFoxYeah, literally every other resource goes straight to your inventory. And just the trees - don't. Good luck gather that shrouded wood on a slope at night.

henkkaAbsolutely. And this should not be a skill point feature but a basic QoL update.
Also, if possible, add some kind of "twinkly" on the items that fall on the ground so they can be easily seen. There is already a shader for grapplehook points (and those underwater fish trap "claws") for shining, perhaps that can be worked to add some visual help to see the dropped resources.
As an addition, it would be great if resources weren't just destroyed/deleted from inventory but that you could actually drop something on the ground and another player could pick them up. This would be handy especially if the other player is too far away to gift the items. You could just drop them and say "Hey, there's a pile of wood/stone/scrap metal here by the front door". Maybe delete the dropped items after a day or so, so they don't break the server. -

XsiI totally agree with the others, it should just go right into your inventory.. The slope thing really is not fun.
