Shroud Fatigue is too punishing
Getting punished by having my shroud time getting cut in half for almost two hours is a bit too much. Either add in some way of cleansing the debuff or just cut the timer to something reasonable like 5 minutes please.

2 hours, guys i love the game but 2 hours!? can you please think these things through before slapping them willy nilly into the game, like i want to actually play and enjoy the game, so not only did this meteor spell do immediate damage to my shroud timer, now i have a 2 hour debuff, im sitting here asking myself, "but why tho?" i was just testing it out in my base and now im screwed for 2 entire rl hours like wtf are we doing here lmao, a dev should always ask them selves this simple question "is it fun?" if the answer is no then why is it in the game, is it enriching my experience? or locking me out of the entire premise of the game, its the latter by the way guys, really poor judgement here, it only takes away from the game FOR 2 HOURS! im genuinely wondering why this is in the game caus its ass. -

BrunoI was almost opening a poll about this. I think something could be created to remove it or give something else instead, since the shroud is the main area of the game.

NytSongGetting effectively locked out of the Shroud for 2 hours early game does not feel great. I would love to either see the time adjusted or to get a game difficulty setting I could adjust.

PaulJAgreed. Unlike in earlier versions, I've noticed in the latest updates they've moved quite a bit of shroud stuff into underground caverns. Many recipes across the board now also require drops only found in the shroud or enemies which dwell in it. I didn't bother taking the extended shroud timer skills before but they're quite necessary now. So a debuff involving shroud time needs to be balanced carefully.

ChromecowThis is exceedingly harsh and unfun, nearly a rage-quit moment. I mis-clicked scrolling through Staff ammo, and here I am, screwed for 2 hours, real-time. I assume there is some antidote that has yet to be implemented, but come on, folks, comment out the shroud fatigue until the chase is in.

SirThaneI specced into some dex and healer trees as a so far lv 33 solo wizard so that I could have 17:00 in the shroud with a chance for kills to restore time. I could feasibly use the shroud spells now, but I whole-heartedly agree that two hours of a big time cut in the early game where items that cause this debuff are found is a lot making these practically useless. If they could be found so early, they shouldn't be functionally locked behind a late game build. I'd love to use the shroud spells, but I don't want to take the 5:00 hit when I'm already spending so much time in the shroud mining resources.

RelystWas about to make this same post. 2 whole hours locked out of the shroud is insane. I'm about to just afk in my base while I go run errands or something

KalHoghandsBad enough you can't see for hell in the shroud now, someone got way too happy with the fog effect for some reason. That 2 hour punish is just way to much, kills the mood to want to even play.

spacefiddle MergedJust occurred to me that not only is the Meteor and Beam penalty really harsh - it also makes no sense.
There are Shroud-damage swords, axes, wands, bows, a cursed hammer, and pointy sticks. Why, then, do two spells carry a large debuff that lasts for two in-game hours? -

EriccI agree, this debuff needs to be greatly reduced or have an expensive cure potion. something.
I know mages were OP when the game first came out but man there's just too many nerfs to them now! -

FerretI mis clicked on a scroll and now I can't properly play for 2 hours. Who play tested this and thought it was a good idea?

BruhPlsThis is ignored for far too long. Big issue, not needed as well.
Salute to everyone who thought it's an XP scroll. -

akrasiait would make sense if it stacked for multiple uses of scroll use. up to 2 hours. but a 2 hour debuff for a 1 time use is silly. (especially since it's not that great a spell )

someguyWhat akrasia said. Please keep in mind that most people will trigger it on accident when panic scrolling through random spells they picked up.

MandyShroud Fatigue is just TOO MUCH. It's making me want to quit. Especially as I didn't know what it was, and I just found a new item that I tried using (which gave me 2 hours of Shroud Fatigue). All items I currently need are in the shroud. I even tried to die, but nothing.
You would think that being at home, near the Flame, would speed up it's curing processs, but no. -

leilarI felt like this was mostly a need to build for extended Shroud time (taking more Shroud time skills, eating Shroud time food, maybe even using the Shroud time gear.) I thought this was interesting build wise and never felt like it was overly punishing? There's even a trait that lets you basically grind Shroud time with your wand.
It's always felt like you can play around it. I really don't agree. This mostly just feels like a knee-jeek reaction to a 2 hour long debuff. After addressing the drawback of Shroud spells with the tools available to me, I've never felt like my Shroud gauge was too small. -

HondoDukeIf you add a mechanic that makes people to not to play your game you should look at other ways to balance something. Instead of a two hour debuff just have the spell only available if you are wearing shroud gear. "Face Palm" @ who ever came up with this.

JoeI accidentally scrolled to use shroud beam but didn't use it and still got the damn debuff..... Terrible mechanic!

Dion Stauffer MergedOne mistaken use of a scroll you pick up resulting in 1 hour and 30 minutes of real world time penalty is total BS. You make games to be fun and challenging - not to PISS OFF your players.

ExiledReaperI get the shroud spells were strong and spammable, but a 2 HOUR DEBUFF that is physically impossible to remove that reduces max time in the shroud by 5 Minutes is ungodly. ESPESCIALLY IN A GAME DESIGNED FOR TRAVERSING THE SHROUD!

PCFirst time this has happened to me yesterday. It was after using either an ice bolt, fireball or lightning spell in the shroud. Was after 3-5 uses that I noticed it. 55 mins fatigue... ? None of those spells say anything about shroud magic.
Harsh af, not really lore friendly, especially for mage build. Also bugged? Remove or total nerf/rework pls. -

Hogg44It does feel too punishing considering the shroud spells aren't even that great. My eternal chain lightning does pretty much the same dps as shroud beam but it has no downside and can also crit. Either make the spells worth using and keep the debuff or tone it down.
