Glider Momentum And Altitude / pull back on glider to burn speed for height.
Please consider adding the ability for players to gain additional speed / forward momentum when pulling up from a dive, allowing them to go much further in a straight direction after, as well as allowing them to pull up and sacrifice some speed for gaining height.

Somewhat realistic flying dynamics like gaining momentum on descent and losing momentum on ascend would make gliding even more fun and creative. For example diving fast to recon an area then pull out to find the best approach or diving into the shroud and being able to fly out.
Lots of potential for entertaining youtube videos -> more marketing. -

Scavar Merged100% agree. The title basically says it all. The glider needs to allow you pull up/backwards to slow down and give you some height. This is both how it works traditionally in other games and how it would in reality as well.

Gnurf MergedGliders are fun, but it would be even more fun if we could fly upwards and roam the skies as much as we want. Maybe a flying glider could be made available for us at the end of the game (post main questline) so it doesn't ruin balance, but we could freely explore the world?

Croc MergedI think the gliding could be improved.. If you could glide and move up and down to get further, more movement in the gliding.. been times where i glide and fall just short and die.. just a suggestion :)

Yoshi MergedThis has been marked as done so maybe it is coming in an update, but I take this as meaning something more like Just Cause which has the best Wingsuit mechanics I've seen in any game, where you gain speed by diving down and can then pull up to get more distance, adding a bit more skill and a more satisfying feel to the gliding. Currently you do go faster by diving but don't appear to retain any of that when you pull back up.

James MergedDid you upgrade your glider? I can reach pretty much any part of the map from the Ancient Spires with my 250% glider. I don't think it needs much of a buff, otherwise you can skip right over high-level shroud very easily.

Pryzm MergedDefinitely with the ghost glider you need to be able to slow down, its too easy to overshoot your mark or cancel gliding and fall to death because of the speed. Yes it needs to go fast but you need the ability to slow down if needed.

Jaryth MergedOkay, I can see fully functional flight being too much for the way the devs have designed the world, but I NEEED to be able to pull up at least a little bit. Go play a Just Cause game and feel what that's like. That doesn't break things. It just feels right and like you're in control.

Tal MergedSimilar to how the glider cancel + updraft combination works, but the effects should be more in line with the act of flapping the glider wings, the height gain should be lower and it should cost stamina rather than mana. This would allow the player to trade flight duration for altitude, creating for meaningful input during flight, making it even more engaging than it already is.
Could be balanced via cost or cooldown to give a sense of progression along with what is already in the game. -

GoboZen MergedI'd like to gain momentum when pitched downwards and lose momentum when pitched up. Would be fun to deep-dive to recon a pack of enemies and then pull out.
I'd prefer to use mana instead of stamina, since stamina is the hard limit and mana can regen.
I'd suggest using mana to speed up actually. -

Rawrlo MergedWingsuit flying would be more interesting if you could flare (convert speed into altitude). Flare performance/efficiency improves with each wingsuit upgrade. The first wingsuit cannot flare.
To flare, you need to dive down to gain a certain amount of extra speed; then when you pull up, you flare and gain altitude until your speed drops to a certain point; then you're back to the default glide slope & speed, and can't pull up anymore. No stall mechanics, maximum flare angle is limited. TBD if flare angle is fixed or if you have some upward pitch control, whichever is easiest to implement.
Change the Updraft skill to a wingsuit speed boost that works with the mechanics of flare. So you could default glide, boost, pull-up to flare. Or dive to gain speed, flare, then boost to extend the flare. -

Hiemis MergedMaybe a similar skill like updraft that instead of giving you upwards momentum, gives you forward momentum? I would also think that a skill synergy system could also work here as well (like link updraft with blink or a fire skill to turn it into another skill, so instead of being a „gust of wind“, it becomes a flame-booster etc.). (Could lore wise be connected to star charts/constellations? Like really late game?)

Same as in the game "Son of the Forest"? In this game you have a hang glider. Pull the nose down=speed, pull up= height. In SotF both points are not equal. You start at 10 meters, nose down, nose up, with a little training you can end the fly curve at 11 meters. If you do this several times and from more than 10 meters you end easily 1 km above the whole isle... In SotF this is fun and very usefuĺ for fast traveling, but, in opposite than in Enshrouded, the height has not any meaning in the game play. You don't stand before cave 1 and can't reach cave 2 because of the cave is higher. This "block because of the height" is in elementary game concept in Enshrouded (Same like the requests for grappling hooks).
If you start at 10 meters and always end at 5 meters, but you can adjust the speed and height in the middle pf the gliding phase, what's the point of this suggestion? Avoid tree branches? -

Peter FlindtAnd... you can glide upwards already. Glide into an up-wind. Gliding upward is game element, the player should not change this.
