Custom NPCs / create our own NPCs
Please let us create our own NPCs. Perhaps at the "Flame." These characters don't need to be able to craft anything; their sole purpose is to populate the world we build for them.

Interesting idea. Especially when you really enjoy having building at all of your bases. It would be nice to see that the place "lives" -

Charlie MergedFor those of us who play the game just to build bases, a lack of NPCs to populate those bases can become an issue. I understand it is not possible to make piles and piles of NPCs who are all as unique and fleshed out as, say, Cade Hawthorn. But, in my opinion, they don't need all need to be.
I'm suggesting that we have the ability to make our own NPCs, in a sense. We summon generic survivors who have the same body model as the player--that way, we can dress them in any playable clothing, and then assign them any job. For example, I could make a guy, choose his hair and skin tone, put him in a milkmaid outfit and say "you're the blacksmith now," and he would then function the same as a blacksmith assistant. Following this pattern, we could feasibly generate as many NPCs as we want (or at least: as many as our CPUs can handle.) -

Julian MergedMaybe give us the option to create own NPCs for our cities. Especially in a multiplayer map, where each of us builds their own Cities, those cities feel empty and lost right now.

Ulrich MergedIt would be awesome to have special NPCs that you can give little jobs so you can place them in fitting areas, like a baker npc to place in a bakery build or a castle guard npc to place in front of gates or bridges. you could also do an npc creator where you choose their outfit and give them items to hold. would make builds so much more detailed and immersive. ive seen many people build little scenes with the mannequins but if you could have actual npcs in those areas it would look amazing
