  To lock weapons and ammo in the backpack would be a really big improvement.
  Currently I have to unload my weapon/ammo into a temporary chest, then do deposit all.
  Giving a "lock" option for slots in the backpack would be awesome and would save a lot of time.
  Locked slots would be excluded from deposit all, but could still be edited manually or consumed in case of food.
  
  Another Option:
  Add another upgrade called "Pouches" or so, which can be crafted from the Hunter, for Example:
  - Small Pouch: 2 extra slots in the backpack, which are excluded from deposit all
  - Medium: 4 slots
  - Large: 6 slots
  - Extra Large: 8 slots
  
  Above slots could be shown to the left of the regular backpack slots as a single column.

  Allow to "lock" an item inside the inventory, so it is excluded from the "deposit all" action while moving all inventory items to storage.
  
  
  That way we can for example keep ammo etc. in bag easily.

  I feel like this should also help us avoid "dropping" or "deleting" an item by accident. Was pretty bummed out when I lost my eternal ice spell... I'm not even sure when or how I lost it.

  yeah maybe a separate option to protect items.
  I found a massive upgrade to my sword and right-clicked on it to click on equip, but instead of equipped where I expected 'equip' to be was the button 'salvage' and I think I audibly yelped well I clicked on that instead...

  I'll quickly try to equip a weapon from main inventory and will confuse the button pattern for putting on armor. The button pattern unfortunately is the exact same as salvaging a weapon. (playing on controller) it is too easy to do this if I don't stop to think that I need to "move" the weapon instead of "equipping" it like a piece of armor.

  first suggestion i found pertaining to this category. I suggest putting a tab that has a password in the flame alter to turn on/off the place able items in that area eliminating the need for individual locking. it would also be a nice addition when building and taking screenshots of your handiwork not seeing the pickup item "e". and stop people from stealing your stuff when going cross server.

  when you are in your backpack/inventory, we can lock items so that when we press the sort button or arrange it, the item locked cant be move or rearrange with the other random stuff we have. it's very useful for ammos or spells that we just want on the corner of our inventory

  I'd like the ability to selectively "lock" items in my inventory from being salvaged. A friend of mine just deleted his best weapon accidentally and is now super demotivated to play the game since it had taken him so long to find a wand like that.

  A feature to lock slots of magic chests would be very handy to ensure there is always at least ONE of a specific resource in a chest.
  
  It allows you to have safe "dump-all" chests in your base where you can Shift+R quickly and empty your pockets after an exploration run.
  As it stands, that convenience can break if you craft stuff.

  When transfering items to chests I constantly accidentally put stuff in chests I want to keep in my inventory when pressing "r". I would like to have a toggle to lock my arrows and spells and other items I would like to keep in my bags so when I press the r key they stay in my bag

  Have the ability to right-click and be able to "Lock" individual slots within the backpack. This could make things so much easier where if you carry food, ammo (arrows/spells), other important aid items that you DO NOT want to be deposited (when you press the Shift+R shortcut), also could be beneficial if your backpack is full of resources and you want to sort it using the T shortcut that the locked slots would still keep your items in their rightful place.

  2. Lock/Unlock Actionbar toggle keybind (default unbound) in keybind settings.
  
  This allows for different end user use cases. Both versions allow for all types of players approaching this.

  Having the possibility to pin your items to a certain slot of hotbar or inventory would benefit in 2 ways: 1) recycling by mistake (which just happened to me and I lost my main weapon) and 2) help to organize your inventory, leaving certain items all the time in the same spot (like bow, arrows, potions...) and preventing them to being moved to chests.

  Currently items on your hotbar or items that are "equipped" ie bow/staff/ammo/current building material do not get deposited into chests with Shift R or F or whatever hotkeys you are using. This is not a problem.
  The issue is, that sometimes you need to carry a lot more than you can fit on your hotbar, and you do not want to deposit it when you are cleaning up your backpack with Shift-R
  
  This is usually stuff like extra arrows or potions or spell ammo that you have more of in a chest.
  
  I think there should be a way to toggle the "equipped" status on any item in your backpack, so it will be ignored when you use the auto deposit/move all items buttons when interacting with a chest. Could rename the equipped status to "Keep in Inventory" or "Do not auto store" or something like that if you wanted to differentiate it from the item being equipped.

  I very much support an option to lock inventory slots to keep items from being moved into chests or other containers. It is painful to clean up inventory and storages while not losing spell charges and such that don't live in the action bar.

  id love this feature not even for the deletion side of things but just to prevent certain items in ur bag from "auto sorting" i like to keep certain items i use all the time lined up at the bottom of my bag. that way new items always fill from the top. being able to just lock items in general so they don't move would be a huge help.

  I'd settle for a "lock inventory row" so I don't need to worry about setting up individual items to not be moved or not. I keep last row in my inventory for stuff I need when exploring. Also annoying when moving all (R) it takes from the hotbar.

  Requesting a "Lock item to backpack slot" so that they wont be deposited or rearranged when we auto sort inventory or auto deposit items into chests.
  
  After 200 odd hours of gameplay I've found that I often want to avoid dumping my backpack or auto arranging loot when out on excursions due to having to re-sort items in my bag, this feature would streamline drop offs, farming and item sorting on the go and thus increase adventuring uptime.
  
  Im sure a lot of mid to endgame players would utilize a feature like this and greatly appreciate its addition to the game, this would be extremely simple but effective if implemented correctly and feels like a feature that would naturally be added in time as the game is improved on but i figured id ask just incase it somehow hasnt been thought of or isnt already in development.

  Pin backpack/chest items in place so you can auto-sort the rest. Right-click -> Pin and/or keybind that toggles "pin on left-click".
