Multiplayer Network Optimization Needs Improvement

15 votes

In player-hosted (P2P) multiplayer, Enshrouded reacts very poorly to minor network instabilities such as brief packet loss, latency spikes, or common Wi-Fi fluctuations. This often causes UI elements to disappear (hotbar, inventory), desynchronization without recovery, or silent disconnections, even when the connection stabilizes quickly.

This is not simply a player connection issue. Other multiplayer survival games, such as Valheim, tolerate these micro-instabilities and recover correctly under the same conditions.

Optimization is not only about FPS or visuals. A multiplayer game must also be robust on the network side and should not require a near-perfect connection to remain playable. Improving packet loss tolerance, resync handling, UI recovery, and P2P stability should be a higher priority during early access.

Thank you for considering this feedback.
