Volumetric Smoke / physical smoke system
I think volumetric smoke would be a great addition to the game, it would make chimneys functional rather than just aesthetic and would be great fun to mess around with. Being a voxel based game the engine lends itself well to implementation

yes please, i love the way smoke comes out of my bases in valheim, and the way you design bases based on what there used for gives you that sligh tickle
i think it should be toggleable so people who dont like it can disable it -

Thomas Müller MergedI would like to see the implement of carbon monoxide in buildings like in Valheim and smoke out of the chimney (or in a bad case in the building). Great game as well! Thank you guys!

ViR Merged100% like this idea! Really waiting for something similiar smoke from Valheim!

Trig Mergedalthough it can be a bit annoying, I really love the extra challenge to build smoke outlets into the base. However, the warmth from a fireplace doesn't extend very far so if this feature gets added I would like the warmth radius to be increased as well

Jeridlee MergedYeah smoke coming out the chimneys we build or takeover would be cool as hell

Col Mergedid like to update this given the new balefire brazier and scavenger bonfires we have that put out absurd amounts of smoke. theres not a good option for making custom fireplaces with large fires in them because those two large options produce smoke that clips through walls and on a second or third floor above a fireplace theres smoke everywhere.

BluSleeper MergedSmoke generator AND Fog generator PLZ! Should be able to control the density, fallout size and translucency. Would make breathtaking structures... But primarily a column of smoke with slection of black, steam (white) would be great for chimneys and such.

Sean MergedI would love a smoke placeable for chimneys, or for a fireplace sized version of the scavenger bonfire. None of the fireplace placeables produce a column of smoke that will make it up a chimney. Trying to add smoke to a building restoration has been an exercise in frustration as the column of smoke is so wide in the few items that do produce visible smoke that building a chimney surrounding the smoke is very difficult.

Blaf MergedI believe basic smoke simulation utilizing voxels should be easy to calculate and a really great addition.

Blaf MergedNow that I think about it, we could optimize the simulation a bit by introducing a “chimney” block. These piping blocks could be connected to form longer stacks. If the chimney’s exit is above the connected smoke source (e.g., a stove), the smoke is emitted at the chimney exit and can optionally be simulated to create realistic smoke patterns. However, if the exit is below the smoke source, the stack won’t work, and the smoke will emit from the stove and simulate its propagation through the house.

revelwoodieI love this idea -- I came here from Valheim, after all. I build chimneys in my buildings, and put torches in them to simulate smoke, etc. But I don't ALWAYS do that. Because I have taken advantage of the freedom from the smoke mechanic in Enshrouded, and have spent many, many hours building things in which there is definitely no room for a chimney. I suspect a LOT of players are in a similar situation. So...smoke? Yes. But it has to be something you can turn off. If people spend hundreds of hours building bases that no longer function because the fires go out...that would be bad.
