Provide a table to upgrade armour and weapons

The recent change to upgrading weapons (and now armour) is cumbersome. Many of us have sprawling villages we've spent weeks, months, and years, perfecting, placing merchants and NPCs in areas around large bases based on RPG fundamentals - create a forge for the blacksmith, a garden for the farmer, etc - and the need to now attend each specific merchant to upgrade a specific item has therefore become annoying for many of us.
It would be a boon to players to create an Upgrade Table, where you can upgrade all your weapons and armour, instead of needing to go to an NPC. Keen has proven that the capability to do this exists with the Decoration Table.
It could perhaps be an Altar quest, or a Blacksmith quest to unlock.
