The deficit between the hearth and cooking pot is a pretty large slog in which leaves you with the 3 basic recipies for a long time until pretty late into the second zone and when you do get there you also unlock the cooking station which is pretty underwhelming in of itself. If you were to make the cooking pot basically a tier two cooking place that is unlocked with the farmer which is right next to the second zone that make it rather balanced and to further then make the stove a tier 3 cooking station that can do what the previous two did plus more just makes for a better balance of buffs through the difficulty scaling.
