Fell Dragon Youngling Changes (too strong for solo)
it seems that the "Fell Dragon Youngling" is way too OP for SP/Solo, even if the player sets the enemies and bosses to super easy and you use a sound strategy using many "Greater Skull Summoning Vessel's" not only do they not fire at the blasted dragon, they can be used as a decoy; that is till they get back to the player; with this strategy I got the dragon down to a sliver but was still dead just shy of 5 min using "Explosive arrows 2" and a cocktail of potions.
Even if you have the toughest armour and all the health, strength & Endurance to max it's still not enough; not only that but you can't heal fast enough when the Red Shroud Laser/Flame hits.
Even if you set all enemies/bosses in the world to their weakest level, the dragon is still OP as Hell.

The Dragon has way too much health for a melee build. Shooting arrows with a dexterity of 7 and no damage skill for ranged or magic, does not enough damage to kill him in time. I freeze to death even with all possible resistances from armor and food. Also, since the realy nice visual overhaul, the particle effects make it nearly impossible to see anything once the fight starts. The hint at the peak to stun him may be useful, if this boss would have a significantly longer stun duration. I get at most 4 hits in with my sword before he starts flying again, usualy only one or two, while trying to get to the head and not clip into the ground or collide with it's body which has almost killed me several times. You could i.e. change the arena to an open flat surface in the middle, so that players can move around without constantly looking up und down, like a mad man, to avoid falling into the lava while also trying to hit this awkward hitbox of a flying monstrosity.
Please overhaul this boss! -

Nathiir Mergedcan we make the final boss more melee friendly im not trying to go collect a whole new set of gear and rebuild skills for one single fight. kinda annoying that its so easy for mages and ranged but melee just have to stand there afk until meteors

FrelI'm sorry, but I don't think the dragon is strong, in my opinion, as I wrote in my post, it's a bit illogical because it doesn't adapt to various mechanics, for example, if you're mainly melee combat. But in general, after several attempts and understanding all his fighting techniques, he's not complicated, although it happens that he blows you away in textures, that's really annoying.

Splitter58 MergedEnshrouded is a great game, but the Fell Dragon Youngling is simply unplayable. The Dragon is horribly over powered, despite I am level 35, after landing in the arena I am typically dead in less than 30s. On the other hand even poisoned steel arrows only do minimal damage to the dragon. I assume I would need more than 200 arrows to kill it. After about 350 h of playing for me this is the point to move away.

Taeladar MergedDid you try dodging and knocking the fireballs back at it? It takes a while and a lot of potions but if you reflect the fireballs back at it you can fill the stun bar up pretty quick. Also craft stun arrows to shoot at it inbetween meteor storms. When its stun bar fills all the way, lay into it. I play mage mostly, but when I do play melee, this is the strategy I use. It took me a while to learn the mechanics of the fight even on my mage. But the triumph of finally being able to beat such an ordeal felt great. Give it your best fellow Flameborns. Make sure you prepare for this (not even the true final boss of the game yet) encounter. Arrows, potions, food buffs. Planning is everything in this game.

Paul MergedThe boss highly favors rangers, stun arrows work consistently, it's both risky, and challenging to reflect the boulders, and the reward barely feels worth it (they don't really add that much stun, and he doesn't use this attack very frequently). And when he is stunned, he doesn't stay down long, and if he fall towards you, he knocks you off, and you have to glide back in.
I recommend adding a melee phase move, the dragon could fly in close, and latch onto the side of the arena with his foreclaws, snapping at players with his jaws, allowing melee to hit it's hands, and/or parry his bites to inflict stun, this would also give mages a chance to apply stun with lightnings spells (unless a mage puts away there staff, they can neither reflect rocks, or shoot stun arrows) -

Hunab MergedDragón is melee friendly, you can parry the fireballs and sent them back at the dragon dealing damg and stagger dmg, when you fill the stagger bar it fells to the ground and you can spam him there, the thing why you feel dragon is very op is cause games very oriented on ranged combat, bows with explosive arrows and spells are super OP thats a fact, i got dragon down with explosive in like 8 min compared to melee, the truth is melee is the only way to enjoy that fight and meke it a bit chalenging, but i totaly understand you, the unbalanced dmg from ranged to melee is one of the things i hate the most from the game tbh

V1xenIm sorry to say even on the lowest 20% setting you will have to be very lucky to kill this brute and i've died more on this fight than on any other game and the whole of this game, even more than the silly times ive fell off something to investigate stuff. It may not be complicated but theres no way to shield yourself from that deathray, you would have thought that at 20% boss damage even your shield would have held up so im inclined to say this is currently a stupid fight to enter into. I'll be back when you have changed it, otherwise I'll not waste my time

GreyI only beat the Red Dragon once because of a glitch (on the lowest possible difficulty).
I really hate the Dragon Boss fights. I'am focused on building, and these dragons blocking me from going forward in the game.
I hope they find a way that "normal" people can handle these Dragons.
For the 5% of players that need a challenge they can come up with something optional that did'nt block your progress. -

Zathgra MergedAfter fighting this boss w/ a group of friends, all of us with different builds and roles, I can say this fight is miserable for anyone who isn't ranger spec.
The boss' stun bar takes way to long to fill with stun arrows and lightning spells.
The boss flies too far for wands to reach at all and is only sometimes in range for lightning spells.
I have a decent enough pc, but for whatever reason I would lag out during the meteor attack and not be able to parry or even see them. Might be a multi-player issue. Might be a wifi issue.
When the boss flies to the outside of the arena I would glide onto the mountain behind it and sometimes get to swing on it and let our ranger hit backstabber when it turned to face me. Adding small platforms to each spot it flies to would go a long way to improving the fight. -

John S. MergedWhen the fell dragon stun meter fills it collapses in what appears to be a random location. If I am standing where it collapses, then I get launched into the next zip code to land in a random location. This results in me landing in the death shroud or flying around and missing the damage window while the dragon is stunned. This happens very often, and it makes the fight frustrating. This kind of randomness does not feel good in a boss fight. It seems like the game is punishing me for stunning the dragon.
Perhaps removing the player catapult mechanic from the fight would make it better. -

kinqstaDear developers! You've ruined a very good game. How difficult is the dragon mission at the top of the mountain like this. I can't believe it. I try many times, I die every time because of a stupid mistake. The dragon's health is filling up at the very beginning, I'm going crazy. So I quit the game. I have never seen such a ridiculous difficulty in my life. What were you thinking about when you did this? You have ruined such a beautiful and wonderful game. Shame on you.

GralshI find the Dragon fight doable after a STEEP learning process. No other fight like it in the game to prepare players for it.
CONSIDERABLY HARDER with visual changes to Shroud in update 6 (the patch mid-May 2025). Sometimes near fully blinded and unable to see the fight platform.
Also, sometimes, the dragon's health/fight resets just when gliding around the fight arena. AND the glider deploys unexpectedly sometimes from a single button press/keystroke.
I am super happy this fight is in the game, but it needs work, both to be able to SEE in the Shroud and the noted buggy/unexpected behavior of glider and boss reset. -

NamineNiniweFirst of all - thank you for creating a hard boss fight. At lvl 35 we thought we were unbeatable in Co-Op 1x Fighter 1xMage but this dragon fight truly showed us how wrong we were. (We are playing the game in German so sorry if the Item/Spell words are not the ones used in English <3)
Feedback as Mage: It was so frustrating that I was not able to use the little wands at all and even more that the big spells were not reaching the dragon too or making no damage at all. (Even at the highest Lvl of spells) I would have loved to use some necromancing but they did not work.
Fighter: We were not able to dodge or prevent his fire-miasma-blast attack at all. We would have loved some Skyrim Dragon 1:1 slaughter time but he is always too far away to reach it and he resisted the stunn-arrows. 2x we managed to parry his fire balls but mostly it does not work at all.
What we would love:
- Arena atmosphere change while fighting for better sight
- Melee Fights
- Spells reach target
Thank you <3 -

SamThis fight is AWFUL, even not solo. Waiting for the dragon to do the meteor attack to parry while he does 90 other attacks first that you can't do anything about). Stun arrows require an ABSURD amount of resources, so if you run out, you literally just hope he happens to do the meteor attack, and you're absolutely screwed if he just decides to do every other attack 50 times first.
Just because it's the final boss fight in the game right now does not mean that it needs to be obnoxious. This is by far the worst fight in the entire game, and it's bad enough that I want to put the game down. Other boss fights weren't amazing, but at least there was a consistent way to do damage, a boss fight that is 90% waiting for the right attack is NOT good design. Full stop. -

PaulJI'm a solo bow main and this fight was trivial (I spent 15 minutes standing on the nearby mountain shooting at the boss with crappy wood arrows until it finally died, and the only thing I had to deal with was occasionally being blown off the mountain by the boss' breath weapon), but I agree that this fight needs reworking for other playstyles.
For one, it should stop that flying around when a player is near. It's a damn dragon, not a bird. A bird would just fly around your head and try to shit on you, that's fine. A dragon though should come down because it wants to roast you with its breath weapon and the stomp you like a pancake. -

Bob JonesI have done this boss 10 times, once for the base upgrade and 9 more times for the head trophies. I am a healer/archer with a little melee mixed in I used the healer lvl 35 set for first couple of goes and had no issue, but I opted to try the archer gear for this fight and it was better as I did more dmg. I used explosive arrows and iron arrows, there is a little alcove on the right of the mountain, that I stood in, it prevents the dragon from knocking me back, he does less dmg when you crouch with the direct flame atk, and the sweeping one doesnt get you in the little alcove. If you dont stun him, it doesnt spawn the other dragons. I used about 1000-1500 arrows for each go, and about 30-40 of the new biggest hp pots. I also used the stews that give to frost resistance, and the pot that gives to dex, for more time in frost and a boost to dmg. Hope this helps!

MariI'm back playing Enshrouded for the new Updated I was so excited for the Veilwater Basin, but this Dragon Quest that need to be defeat to get the new area is impossible, I'm instantly killed that Dragon flame, no space to evade, and no time to fly away from, this is ridiculous hard. What is this soulslike now?? I hit him with the stun arrow, and he get resist, wtf, I can even hit it. Needs to nerf this dragon if you want people keep playing this game.

JabbasThis boss makes no sense. The game isn't based on Soulslike or World of Warcraft-style difficulty, with ridiculously high consumable items required to defeat a single boss.
I can only advise you to change it by first making the visuals more pleasant. As soon as the dragon's beam is activated, if it's too close to the camera, you can't see anything anymore, making it impossible to see the snow and the void.
The counterattack that allows you to bring down the dragon is feasible, but having this attack only once every 2 minutes is ridiculous. You might as well announce that if you're in close combat, you've chosen the wrong specialization.
I also feel that the difficulty changes don't apply to this boss, which makes the game impossible to continue. I think this is the best way to lose players quickly.
Please change the boss's difficulty and make it feasible like the rest of the game, because Enshrouded is an excellent game that shows a love of gameplay, level design, and exploration. -

D3rpymajor problems
health: we both were alternating using the infinite ice arrow 2 and steel arrows and still used 400 steel arrows each
. . all of which were backstabs because the dragon got stuck and stopped attacking us
damage: touching a fire AoE basically guaranteed your death because the debuff deals a lot of damage and lasts 10 seconds
stun: the boss entirely relies on stun but the only sources of stun are:
. . . . bow: an expensive arrow type
. . . . melee: parrying 1 specific attack that the enemy can do or not do whenever it feels like
. . . . mage: lightning spells which have limited range
. . the boss also has a very large stun bar meaning it will use a lot of these resources/time
. . and when its finally stunned it can simply land on you causing you to miss most of your damage window or outright kill you because:
updrafts: the updrafts in the arena are very inconsistent make every attempt to utilize them a roll of loaded dice
minor problems
visibility
loot being disappointing -

NidoJackThis fight isn't fun in its current form, too many bugs still after newest update (it froze for last 25% of it's health) and having that much shroud environment is terrible.
Redesign the fight to have the arena be solid ground with shroud on the outside edge, the dragon can fly and shoot fire as before but will land and fight similar to the wispwyvern in the capital. This way any build can fight the dragon but can reduce ground time to have the current mechanics with the stun arrows still be priority, but reduce it's stun bar. -

Scott McNewPlease make it easier for solo players.
I have almost 800 hours in game but both times due to constant deaths I have to lower dragon to 20% yet with max heath it can still kill you in one pass.
The problem is solo, with 8 drakes spawning and the dragon doing his attacks that burn and burn the ground you can’t find time to deal with a drake or put yourself out by rolling or blink, or dodge its fire breath let alone shoot him with stun arrows.
When you do stone it 1/3 of the time you get knocked if playform and can maybe 1-2 hits before starting the sequence over and the 8 drakes -

BobAlways dying to some random shit, updraft not working let's go, death...
You have limited time due to the frost but the stun bar is annoyingly long to fill, with the only attack he does that allows you to stun him having the lowest occurence in his moveset. Put in some adds in the mixe cuz missing 50/50 of the burst windows cuz he wants to land on your face wasn't enough now you also lose time evading/killing these birdies.
I've rarely seen a boss as annoying and rng, it's a real fukin buggy mess... -
17 Dec, '25
SmudaFar to hard to fight in Solo/SP and completly unbeatable as melee/mage without any cheesy/glithy tactics. If he wouldn't had bugged it would have ended my playthrough. Once i enter his arena he does the meteor once and then never again. Only using his breath attacks. As mage my wands can't reach him and spells can barely recharge fast enough between his attacks.

zepolhello Devs!
Me and a group of friends finished this fight last night and we all had a blast but...
first off, I think it was a waste not to implement the Giant Slayer Hook skill on the dragon. If there is a way to do so, please please please do. A ton of us melee found it a waste of a skill if we cant even use it on this boss.
second, if there is a way to glide and land on top of the dragon's back would be nice as well. a bunch of us tried it last night but we just clipped through the dragon.
third, as epic as the fight was, it would be great to change its attack patterns when it's almost dead. that would heighten the thrill even more. maybe it could do a massive attack but would have to charge up. by doing so it would hover above just enough for ranged classes to attack it and high enough for the Giant Beast Slayer hook skill to be used by melee classes to hop on it or climb on it to help stop that blast from coming.
mechanics of this fight should include all classes somehow. -
27 Dec, '25
StrudelI've beaten the dragon multiple times in an older playthrough. This time, having started over in order to experience the whole progression as currently designed? Not a prayer. I have the player slider all the way up and the enemy sliders all the way down. Even digging into what's left of the mountaintop after it got messed with yet again, the flame breath torches me. I have the best everything I can get. I've burned through all my resources. Stun arrows, poisoned steel arrows, etc. -- This fight is absurd, and if you want to continue having solo players it needs to be dealt with. If you DON'T want to have solo players, be kind enough to say so up front.

RifesSame issue here, tuning down the boss damage does NOT seem to affect the shroud flame damage (which i also consider op) even with a full tank and health build the flame damage ignores everything and has insane tick damage, which was my main issue as a solo melee build in that fight. Meteors seem to sometimes (or randomly) one shot, so parrying them isn´t viable.
The update isn´t new so how is this still an issue in the first place?
But I find it more questionable how there is a very similiar fight in portal knights where they managed to balance it nicely for everyone, yet here it falls completely flat and ultimately stopped me from progressing, unless i were to completely respec and change gears (lmao) -

no300 hours into the game, this "boss" made me quit playing.
More than a year later and its still ridiculous? If anything, its gotten worse?
Yeah. I wont be back. -
02 Jan
JakeTried to beat it 2 times: once as a mage and fighter (10 year old son). We got wiped repeatedly. Wands don't do enough damage, stun bar fills too slowly. If we had played perfectly, the fight would have taken us 2 hours to complete. Before that we had to grind potions and food for 6 hours and my kid almost quit.
Then tried solo as a mage at level 40: fight is impossible. Only managed to win because it bugged out. Took me 60 minutes of real life time while waiting for the mana bar refill. I burned through 40 mana potions. Boss corpse then landed in deadly shroud making retrieval impossible. I'm out.
PS: why are bosses resistant to magic. This is just punishing you for choosing a certain skill tree. -

eberkainmy wife and I both have over 200 hours in the game, we played a bunch at launch and started a new playthough on default difficulty a few weeks ago and have been playing pretty hardcore. She is tank and I am glass cannon archer. We can generally blow through every encounter and boss without issue. We finally made it to the fell dragon youngling and its a hard wall, we both very nearly quit the game in frustration. We fought him so many times for so long that we have literally use all the resources we have collected during the entire playthrough and had to go back to farm low level areas so we could make more stun arrows, potions, etc... The best we have been able to do is get him a little under half health. It is so easy to get knocked off the platform and die, or get stun locked and set on fire and die. When we both die there is like no window to save the fight and it resets. I suggest the fix should just be in how long it takes for him to reset, just make it 2 min instead of instant.

VildurssonThis boss basically made me quit and wait for 1.0 as solo melee player. It is not intented to be beaten as solo melee build at all. You need to respec to arrows/ranged build just for this fight. I have no interest to respec for single fight that does not let me play my way like every other encounter so far.
This should have some kind of attack phase that where melee could be actually useful and where i could deal damage with melee.
I don't have patience for this kind of gameplay when everything else has been mostly 9/10 content up until this point. -
26 Jan
KRogers+1 to all comments saying this boss fight is lame and impossible to solo. even with the difficulty sliders all the way to "easy". That would be fine if the fight was optional, but to make this fight mandatory for progression is why it's lame.
Up until this point, this has been such a great, fun game. I'd like to strengthen my altar and continue playing, but now I'm pretty much blocked.
I don't know if it's related to not being able to strengthen the altar, but gear drops are clearly capped; nothing is even close, let alone better, than what I've already been using for the last 10-15 levels (this is at level 40). -
27 Jan
someguyDid it with the 20% boss health and it was still really annoying. I otherwise love the game but the dragonfight seems off.
I cant see anything due to the frost effect and the shroud
I catch on fire from projectiles hitting next to me that i cant block
I cant heal while i am flying
I end up in the red death fog from escaping attacks out of position
Getting to the downed dragon through the snow takes valuable time
I do not like calling for a nerf if other people do it and enjoy it but as a progression block this is off. There are two bosses in the summits, just make the shroud of the veilwater basin accessible with the first one. -

Angry GamerYeah, we quit.
This is stupid. If you want to have crazy challenging boss fights or whatever so people can sneer "git gud" at each other, it's completely out of character for the game, but whatever. They don't belong on the critical path! And fix the bugs. Getting stuck on the terrain and roasted was the last straw.
My spouse and I finally turned it down to 20% health and damage and player stats up to 4 and got it done, but the dragon still won. Its flame burned away every bit of goodwill this game earned over 140 hours.
It's a shame because the game has lots of cool systems and content. But when our friends ask about Enshrouded, that's not what they're going to hear about. They're going to hear all about the big dragon-shaped middle finger the developers give the players.
Good job. I hope this is what you wanted. -

Berry CremeHi i wanted to add feedback from my 6 player group
bones of a cool boss fight is there, the meat is rotten though - Hmeighauxgnaaiyz
melees cant be hit the dragon or do anything
it being stunned killed people by knocking them off
meteors get missed / too hard to parry and if you miss your parry its stunlock death
party of 6 warriors 1 healer did not go well or fun
fireballs should track when parry - Saugher Kreeem
updrafts not around the area was hard
dragon tooooo durable, one hour struggle to kill - Rahncz Dreccying
Increase stun timer please so all builds have a way to do damage
ok im hearing a lot of melee phase from the group
beam attack too punishing
This boss fight did not feel possible without range. - all the warriors
Frost was bad if we are on fire we shouldn't freeze; it can even be made as a choice; freeze or take fire damage.
please tweak numbers - Berry Cream -

TThis!
For a solo melee build is nigh impossible. The whole arena, the movement of the monster, the janky attacks, the garbage camera movement, the inconsistent updrafts...
I mean it is just horrible.
Not to mention the time it needs to grind all the stuff to even have a tiny chance, all wasted.
But here's the suggestion: lover it's HP and stun treshold for solo players, and/or make it land by itself from time to time for the sake of melee builds.
Also remove snow from the arena. Not only makes it extremely hard to avoid some insta kill attacks, but makes no sense in a lava surrounded enviroment.
Remove the wind blast attacks or make the updrafts stronger and place more of them around. It is a big middle finger to the player to get tossed in the lava by an unavoidable attack that is impossible to counteract.
I quit the game and can't recommend it to anyone until this boss fight is adjusted. -
22 Feb
Izariel MergedI have died many, many times now on this fight. Not because of something I did, but because of some bug or lag, or breakdown in the system. This fight is far too complicated and uses far too many unforgiving mechanics. You failed to take into account a shitty system which breaks at the slightest touch such as to make this fight a virtual impossibility.
1. My parry doesn't work right so when I block with my shield nothing happens when I have a staff equipped. This means I cannot deflect the fireballs.
2. I cannot dodge his firebeam attack because it is simply too fast and when you combine all the STUPID ASS FOG that comes up, its impossible to see so youre just as likely to run into the lava.
3. My chain lightning spell Im supposed to use to stun the dragon cannot REACH the dragon. So I try in vain, cast after cast to get to him and IT DOES NOTHING.
4. Then the dragon disappears and because of the fog and the inability to be able to look straight up he pushes me into the lava... -

AurexI think it goes beyond difficulty: the entire encounter is terribly designed and should be scrapped and remade into something akin to the dragon fights in Dragon Age Inquisition: large arena with some cover.
It shows you (through the skeleton with the stun arrows in the bridge) that you better use those to knock it down.
But what if you're a mage? What if you're a warrior with a two handed weapon?
The arena is too small. The snow slows you down too much and drains too much stamina. The HP is perhaps 5 times what it should be, I played the entire game on hard, and it took me 35 minutes to take it down with max intelligence at level 36 and great gear, since it seems to be resistant to fire, ice and shock damage.
On top of that, there's the hypothermia that makes it more annoying.
I only managed to kill it because it got stuck after a while and I simply used my wands to whittle down his health.
I love the entire game, but this encounter genuinely made me hate my time spent playing it. -

JorgeToo unbalanced:
-It looks weird when it floats through the arena because it moved to the outside of the volcano and its target flew to the other side of the arena in response.
-Bows have way too easy of a time just shooting it to death while parked in a peak, never using stun arrows: aside from the red push it should have a launching attack like the cyclopes. Also repeat rock spin if you're on the peaks outside the arena looks really lame.
-It should attack with its claws in melee like vultures or land on the ring to attempt some bite attacks
-Either Shield builds should get a skill to block lasers or the piles of terrain on the ring should be interactive and renewable. "Lasers that Kill You" don't feel as epic unless you can be clever to avoid them and "fly away from your problems" is old hat, it works on all monsters
-Shoot little homing fireballs to spice things up
-lasers too fast
-transitional movement too slow -

IzarielThe dragon boss is UNPLAYABLE for mage specs. He is ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE. I've heard all the things I'm supposed to do, but THEY DON'T WORK. Reflect fireballs? I CAN'T. MY SHEILD WON'T WORK when I have a staff equipped, but my staff is my main weapon. So deflecting fireballs is out. Use my lightning to stun him you say? CAN'T. My lightning won't reach him. Even when/if it did IT DOES NOTHING! I did manage to hit him a few times with my spell and I could NOT EVEN SEE THE STUN BAR MOVE DOWN AT ALL!!! His fire is impossible to dodge fully unless you totally leave the ring. I tried retreating to the mountains around the ring and shooting long distance. Took WAAAY too long and still didn't work. The attacks are buggy. His knockback attack keeps hitting me (though im way out of range) and BLOWING ME THROUGH THE MOUNTAIN TO THE OTHER SIDE!
TONE DOWN YOUR DAMN DRAGON!!! I am literally ready to QUIT over this fight. IT IS NOT FUN! MAKE IT MANAGABLE I'M GOING TO QUIT. -

AlyxSet the boss health to 60%. 4 players. Between 30-40. 500 stun arrows. Boss health resets and we did nothing. Collectively my group has over 600 hours playtime with 240 of them being me. 400 more stun arrows and nothing. Countless grind time for crafting. This boss is unplayable. We’ve spent hours. I’m ready to abandon this game entirely and I’m really disappointed. We’re stuck. I’m frustrated. Please fix this. This is this first game that has grabbed my attention like this in a longtime and I’m feeling heartbroken.
