Ability to upgrade low level weapons beyond their limit
Weapons found in the first locations often have more preferred characteristics for the player than those found in later locations. These weapons are difficult/impossible to find in subsequent locations and they have lower base damage compared to what is found later, which is why they quickly lose their relevance.
The idea is to give the player the opportunity to increase the maximum level of weapons beyond their usual limit, which will allow them to maintain their characteristics and increase their base damage, making all types of weapons unique and relevant throughout the game.
To avoid unjustifiably acquiring high-level weapons too early, the maximum level of improved weapons should be limited depending on the player's progress in the game world, the locations they open, and the resources available.

Currently, in Enshrouded, players can enhance weapons with Runes, increasing damage and abilities, but there is no system to upgrade weapon rarity. The proposal is to add an "Armorer" NPC, allowing rare weapons to be transformed into legendary, for example, ones with customizable attributes.
Proposal Details:
Armorer NPC: A character specialized in forging and upgrading weapons, located in central game areas or player bases.
Weapon Evolution: Converts weapon rarity using resources and Runes.
Attribute Customization: During the evolution process, players could choose additional weapon attributes, such as elemental damage types, status bonuses, or special abilities, making each weapon unique and tailored to individual playstyles.
Benefits:
Preserves Favorite Weapons, Greater Customization, Encourages Progression & Exploration
The evolution cost should be balanced to keep the challenge fair.

Wesir MergedGive us the ability to pay the blacksmith to upgrade the level on our gear so if we find a legendary we like we can upgrade it as we level up instead of having white items drop with better stats

dmitry MergedYou can upgrade your weapons in the game. But for some reason it is impossible to improve armor, as well as tools (pick, axe, rake, etc.). Any ideas. Make 3 types of runes in the game: Combat, Defensive and Craft. The first and second ones can be found in enemies, the third ones sometimes fall out of the resource (for example, if you cut down a tree and not only logs, but also runes fell out of it). Either the former can be found in enemies, the latter sometimes drop out when parried. The third is for manual crafting and crafting from an artisan. Another option: For armor and tools, make a system for increasing ranks, i.e. we connect two identical items to get one item of a higher rank (in this case, two items are removed), in case of failure, all items are removed. The higher the rank, the higher the chance of failure. And the last option: like in Valheim, we simply mine more ore and strengthen the item to a higher level (but this is too easy a path).

Tae MergedThe rune system is somewhat a form of enchanting however it would be very interesting to have another system where there is more choice, player agency and visual value. Say enchanting a weapon with a "fire enchant" would give the weapon flames around it and on hit do fire damage or a "leech enchant" where on hit you heal for a certain amount. Same goes for gear maybe with the visuals being runes on the actual piece(or no visual at all). It's an easy way to add extra depth to the gearing systems as well as upping the cool factor of gear.

Gee MergedI feel like this is a problem of a lot of games where you have a legendary level 5 and it's much worse than a common level 10. On the other hand, endlessly upgrading an early legendary would make other loot much more useless. My suggestion would be to set the price for upgrading based on rarity + number of upgrades done (and make it steep).
Let's assume that for each upgrade you need certain amount of resources based on rarity:
- Common = 10 common mats
- Epic = 10 common mats + 5 epic mats
- Legendary = 10 common mats + 5 epic mats + 1 legendary mats
The calculation could be (although probably way off to be usable):
Upgrade costs (UC) = (Mats) x !TargetUpgradeLevel (TUL)
So for legendary:
UC2 = (10x2) + (5x2) + (1x2) = 20 + 10 + 2
UC3 = (10x3x2) + (5x3x2) + (1x3x2) = 60 + 30 + 6
UC4 = (10x4x3x2) + (5x4x3x2) + (1x4x3x2) = 240 + 120 + 24
The players can then decide if it's worth dumping that many resources to current item or replace with better stats. -

TheGrey08 MergedGear & item upgrades, especially when you get into mid-late game would be ideal.
EX: you craft a level 18 set and really like the appearance and once you've unlocked the lvl 23 sets, you now have upgrades available for the level 18 sets using some of the higher level mats to level it up to 23 with the other sets.
As far as open world drops being upgraded, I think that would be nice to at least be able to upgrade them a little to extend your time with them even if you can't max them out. Could also see a setup like Gee's example above. -

JoshuaWiebelhaus MergedCool items you get for quests are sometimes irrelevant the moment you get them because they're worse than the weapon you have equipped. You can't have equipment as a meaningful quest reward if it will become irrelevant in thirty minutes when the player picks up something from a chest.

DrWondertainment MergedI quickly lost interest to all side quests after I finished dungeon mentioned in quests but only obtained legendary weapons or shields with terrible out-dated basic status number. So there should be a way to upgrade them, and those unique equipments should have unique tag. Or my hardwork in fighting though dungeon and solving puzzles is wasted.
I think a good example is middle-earth: shadow of war, players can get unique equipments from collecting collections, and those equipments' tags are totally unique in mechanics and strong, which more like 'skill on equipment'. Players can upgrade equipments' level to their character level using common cash, after upgrading, equipments' basic status number is a bit lower than the best in the drop list(which means players are very likely already have a better one), main purpose is to keep using those equipments' special tags without terrible basic status number. -

Tarbosaurus MergedStrongly agree with this for two reasons. 1- the only runes sink right now is unlocking the enhancements, and runes start to pile up after we finish enhancing the current gear. Being able to upgrade gear level with (alot) of runes would add another needed runes sink. 2- there are some unique lower level legendaries like Jezmina's apotheosis that are unlikely to get higher level versions, and this way we could keep using them if we wanted.

iBunny52 MergedThe weapons in enshrouded are very unique, not oly they effect and status are different, but all of then have history, we have a good varity of items. The thing is, even if all the weapons and armors are different and unique ( with different rarities) if you drop a weapon in level 5,10,15... epic/legendary that you like, you will probably NEVER SEE THIS ITEM ANYMORE.
As my experience playing this game so far with 130 Hours already, i really hate this. The weapons are unique, the raritys are unique, BUT, as far as you got an item you need throw away, because the level is low, and is not worth anymore, and you need try get the weapon again and again...
Same apply to armors, like the elemental shields for example, they are unique AND VERY COOL, the desing is awesome, but, again, level 7?.
Weapons and Armors should have a leveling system using Runes to increase they levels by a lower price ad get more expensive later. instead of always trhowing away.
I hate the Throw system :(( -

iBunny52 MergedReading the old mesages, we could merge all the idea into one:
Upgrading Weapon/Armors using Runes, so you can level your item level without throwing out, the price should scale with the level, means will be lower in the initial levels and expensive later.
Upgrading Rarity with duplicated Item (item need be the same to merge):
Commom + Commom = Rare Item;
Rare + Rare = Epic Item;
Epic + Epic = Legendary Item;
So we can keep upgrading our items without trhowing away, and even save then to upgrade the rarity too!. It means no more throwing away our comom/rare/epic items along the way, but storage then to keep progressing.
The merge of the ideas is awesome, and i hope we see something like that, or at least, similar in the future!. Enshrouded need it ASAP.
The mechanic of wasting time in dungeons (because the ger comes low), wasting cool mechanics and styles (elemental shields because they also low), and the FullyRANDOMgrind from chests just to throw away... is a Nightmare. -

marcovchb MergedI think merging items for upgrade doesn't fit that well, as I mentioned in other thread, the best approach would be to dissolve the gear (wearable such as armor and shields) into some other form of resource, let's call it "amber shards" based on item level and quality, similar to Runes.
For armor/shields upgrading it is level, should work, just like weapons, where blue ones gives you 3 level upgrades/3 more perks, purple gives you 4 and yellow/legendaries gives you 5 and so on. And this upgrade system will require an escalating amount of "ember shards".
For quality upgrading, this improve it from green to blue, blue to purple and so on, then this would require an escalating amount of "ember shards" plus 2x the crafting resources of its original version for green, 3x the crafting resources for blue, 4x times the resources for epic and 5x times the resources for legendary. -

marcovchb MergedIf the item originally is a drop item, not crafted, a value of crafting resources can be assigned, for instance the Elder, Paladin and Eagle Eye sets.
And the item can be upgraded only 2 times from its original quality, so if the item is a grey/common item, then it can only be upgraded first to green, then to blue. Like wise, if the item is a rare one/blue, then it can be upgraded to purple/epic, then to yellow/legendary.
This will also help with the resource excess/inflation that starts to accumulate by endgame time and with the duplicated item drops, for instance we managed to get 15ish Eagle eye gloves, that were going nowhere. -

Lightningtow MergedI really like the way AC Odyssey does it. You can upgrade gear to your current level. However, it's very expensive to do so. This means that loot is still relevant because it's generally easier to find new, better loot than to upgrade your old gear (since you'll quickly run out of money). But if you get a legendary you really really like early game, it can stay relevant and still be usable.
Btw I'm talking about the level of the gear, like the player level. I love that flaming sword at the beginning of the game but it sucks now, would be great to still be able to use it -

PaulJThis is why I feel loot in games like Enshrouded should NOT be complete finished items. Give us materials, recipes, gear mods, etc. Let us CRAFT our gear - this opens the possibility of recipes for gear mods as well. So if you have a nice low level sword for example you could potentially keep crafting gear mods for it to increase the damage output as you level up so that it remains relevant. (Or you could just craft a higher tier version of the same weapon and tinker with that.)
Really, the whole loot system is in need of an overhaul. Putting finished armor and weapons in chests only works if the game has HUNDREDS of them. Otherwise you run into the two big problems that already exist: players will just camp high level chests rather than play the game crafting, and they get annoyed because they keep finding the same sword 20 times. -

ShillienI complete the quest, get the recipe, and now I can craft this weapon at my base. But this weapon isn't legendary. You can only socket a gem into a legendary weapon. It makes the whole crafting process feel pointless.
For the entire game, I'm forced to rely entirely on luck, hoping that a legendary weapon suitable for my class drops from a chest.
1. Weapons need to be divided into groups: poison, fire, ice, etc.
2. Implement a progression system for each weapon based on levels and rarity color. If I get a blue sword, that means I first need to upgrade its rarity color. Then I need to increase its level. And only after that can I proceed with its modification. -

FragtalIm flabbergasted that this is not a top request. The item progression feels very unfun, because all loot finds are outleveled rather quickly. Finding Legendary uniques doesn’t give you anything, if you don’t get to use them long-term. Please let us upgrade them to our current level.

LancerSomething that would help with this feeling would be allowing us to craft better quality lore items. They're the only weapons we can level up through the game and they're stuck at Blue. Maybe increase the crafted rarity to Epic when we reach flame level 8 and Legendary once we've maxed out the flame. Since they only come with early game Enhancements there's still a reason to use looted weapons for things like Opportunistic and Ruthless.
