Equipment Upgrade and Rarity Enhancement
Weapons and armor need a way to be upgraded; by doing so you can make epic into legendary and raise the max level of the item etc. This could be an end game idea linked to the flame altar perhaps. The higher the level the more options you have access to. A little something to keep those favorite toys shiny and feeling new

I like this game overall, but one of my least favorite parts is the RNG-heavy process of finding new weapons. When playing solo, many weapons will not fit your build, and it is worse when playing some areas "out of order", so you end up finding weapons that would have been very good - 10 levels ago. I suggest allowing the player to craft most weapons (including most of the very good ones) at common rarity and appropriate level, gated by the crafting stations and materials they have access to (so it would be very similar to armor progression). Then, the player can find uncommon items in the world that upgrade the rarity of a weapon. I don't mean runes, I mean actually changing a weapon from common -> uncommon -> rare -> epic -> legendary. Like runes, there should probably be a partial refund on these items when salvaging. It's cool that some weapons are quest/lore/combat rewards (e.g. Jezmina's Apotheosis, Wailing Blade, etc). But please make most weapons craftable to reduce randomness. -

bluegreen1024To clarify, I envisioned the key part of my suggestion as "make weapons craftable". I included the rarity upgrade loot idea to solve the obvious issue this would create, namely "Why would the player bother searching out rare and hidden chests if they can just craft the good weapons?". But I'm certainly not opposed to the suggestion mine got merged with, either.

Amonight MergedSome of those items are stagnant for many levels and you just toss them or put in a chest to gather dust. Would be nice to have them upgradable similar to weapons (5% phy def increase, 5% magic increase, 2% melee damage increase etc.) At least let us salvage out 100 shields for some use :D
They could be pricey upgrades or even a new npc to add perks to the armors. Upgrading it in stacks could be decent to from Normal >>>Fine>>>exceptional>>>exquisite Give small increases to base stats as they increase. Armor up/crit chance up/hp up etc.
Jewelry could be the same way and need gems recovered from other rings. -

Lord YanaekThis is even more direly needed with the item changes in Update 8!
Now the loot pool is even bigger (with all armors being lootable in chests) and with armors having rarity up to legendary, but the crated ones being limited to rare, it's harder than ever to find good equipment. I've been farming 4 different gold chests several times/day for several days now and i still haven't found a good new 1-handed sword for my character.
Let us craft/upgrade equipment up to legendary rarity, this is not an ARPG where players are happy to grind for weeks to get that ultimate item! In those games they also have no choice but to grind because everything is online and there's no way to "cheat". Here we have the shroud depot and i'm going to pay it a visit. You shouldn't encourage your players to cheat because once you start cheating the taboo is over and it's wayyy too easy to cheat the fun out of the game completely! -

CrosswalkerThis is a good idea. A huge amount of my gameplay is spent just recycling useless weapons of lower rarity, since I already got several boxes worth of spares, and my current ones are typically of higher rarity already.
Some of those weapons look really nice, and I would have loved the ability to just spend resources to upgrade them somewhere to the level of my current weapons, so I could switch, rather than discard them.
