Hemotoxin & curse feedback
This should be a time based debuff. 15-20mins. i am stuck with it since patch and my mana is just 0% all the time. Moths are so so so so so so RARE and IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE and Find

Make the debuffs more interesting overall.
Current version only feels "threatening" if at all for the very first time we encounter it, after you got your hands on the antidotes it kinda takes the entire existance to a marginal level aka "chug potion... movin on"
Since one is a curse, id suggest some sort of ritual or some sort of scavanger hunt, leading you through a few obstacles, like finding a certain spot, go to a certain old temple/well/holy place, overcome some obstacles there aswell i.E. cool boss, labyritnth, puzzle whatever, and make that three different locations (example) to not make it easy predictable and solvable once you got the hang of the fist location maybe.
Anything other than simply "oh yeah i know this can happen, imma have some anti pots in ym bag, chug one, get the immunity goin aswell so wont happen again anyway for addiotional while" -

Ektomorphed MergedPlease make the hemotoxin debuff time based. 15 min to 30 min.
been stuck with it forever. Antidotes are none existing or the moth are too rare to even hunt. its a complete waste of time and progress wall. -

Matt MergedThis is a permanent debuff that is way too easy to contract. Finding moths is also a pain to remedy the effect.

Clibe MergedI can understand having a debuff persist through death, but moths are extremely hard to find and the debuff comes from getting only hit once. Seems a bit absurd to me. I just spent several in game nights trying to find 5 moths just so I can have some health and mana regen. Maybe the required mats can be cheaper or the debuff can be on a timer.

TomPeregrinHemotoxin debuff is way to difficult to overcome. Not only do you have no mana and you can't heal except by using bandages or potions (purple berries don't work), but moths and spider glands are way too rare to be able to get enough. For the antidote you need 5 moths and 5 spider glands.
Just thinking about moths - they are only found in one biome (Rivendell) and only at night. So you have to walk around Rivendell at night and avoid the usual baddies Plus roaming bandits Plus wild boar looking for moths. The chance of finding a 'flock'(?) of moths from my experience is about 1 in every 3 nights. When you find a flock, there are about 5 floating all around together, but when you harvest the 'flock' you get ONE moth. So every night for about 8 or 9 nights I have run around Rivendell in the dark and so far I have caught 3 moths.
So either make the debuff temporary, or make the antidote easier to achieve. Maybe catch 5 moths from a flock on only need one spider gland? -

maxhemotoxin is near impossible to overcome if you dont have multiple people trying to help you fix it. my partner and i have spent several ingame days (several hours straight) trying to fix this to no avail. dying over and over just to try to get some moths is way too punishing. this game is unplayable until something is done to fix it. this is considered a softlock imo

OlivierVery good game so far, but this hemotoxin debuff is really a pain in the ass. It's a debuff for the game. I know, it's early access but really it kills the desire to play. I play a warrior and my life bar is visibly decreasing. I don't have time to craft the ingredients to make healing potions and play at the same time. And I don't yet have access to the areas where I can find the ingredients to make the antidote... so good bye playing game.

ViolenityEnded up with this debuff when playing with my husband for the first time in a while. We ended up spending the entire time trying to get the moths and when we finally managed to get the ingredients to craft ONE potion I was just done. Means that instead of having a fun time gaming with my husband I was just frustrated and unhappy the entire time.

RipleyRileyHemotoxin is incredibly unfun, adding an incredibly painful penalty that is way too difficult to remove. Pick one...
1. Recipe change: creating the antidote requires 1 spider gland and 1 moth, creating multiple antidotes
2. Recipe change: require one rare component - like the spider or moth - and multiple more common components
3. Debuff change: change to a lengthy duration, 30 - 45 minutes, instead of being permanent
4. Debuff change: reduce regeneration by 75% instead of completely stopping it -

maxso the game just updated, but now we only have temporary immunity to the curse AFTER finding the cure. this does not fix anything for the player at all or make the game more playable

ExarkDebuff shouldn't be "regen halted" it's too punishing and unfun for most of the classes (mages, infinite arrow archers).
"regen halved" would seem fairer
If there's a difficulty setting menu why is the only choice On/Off curses, can we not think of a slider for the hemotoxin debuff
(0%(off)-100%(on)) -

KaylaSThis is the worst debuff.... it never goes away. I've been spending the last hour trying to find the ingredients for the cure. This is making me want to stop playing the game I'm getting so frustrated. Just finding the dang moths is a huge challenge and trying to find where the spiders are to get the glands. I'm burning through health potions just getting to the places to find these. This is NOT fun.

joonasI just bought the game and got the hemotoxin after 20h, no idea from where. I missed the hint where the moths are supposed to appear and ... yeah, a lot of wasted time.
Up until now everything has been very smooth and balanced and I've been really enjoying the game. I don't understand why a quest like this with the low spawn rate got in.
Is there a workaround or should I just wait for a patch? (I don't even know how rare those are.)
I hope there are no other quests like this because this is a serious bummer -- this would probably ok on the most difficult difficulties but my game turned into enemies one shotting me so I am just now respawn-looping if I go trying to find these moths. -

TsoRan into hemotoxin for the first time today, and it brought our game session to a screaming halt. We were able to figure out what was going on by doing some online research, and didn't have too much trouble with the moths (apparently that got tweaked so the moths are easier to get now than some of the above comments?), but it stopped our gaming session completely for about 30m.
This frankly doesn't fit the way the game plays on normal difficulty - it's like someone dropped a sour bit of Valheim into the middle of World of Warcraft. I think design-wise it's cool to have a nasty debuff that requires special work, but having it stop regen entirely forever is way above and beyond anything fun based on the implicit promises the game design has made. -

Paul JI haven't actually encountered this, but damn does it sound not well-thought out. I realize things should have consequences, but as multiple players have commented it's just way too difficult to fix, and in the meantime you have no mana. Wow. I'm just gonna go to my world settings and remove this crap.
Having seen debuffs being botched in way too many games I'm starting to think most people don't actually know how to design a temporary inconvenience, rather than yoyo between useless or crippling. As someone pointed out, simply putting a timer on any new thing created will allow players a workaround relief (i.e. just wait it out) just in case the actual cure somehow bugs out, doesn't work as intended, is way too hard to craft, etc.
Really hope they revisit this in the next patch. -

HKSolutions:
1) Add the recipe to the alchemist WITHOUT a quest.
or
2) Make that curse last 30 minutes or something
or
3) Make the antidote for it something that can get loot dropped. -

Angus DavidsonHi (This is for Fell curse as the admin merged it into this topic) If you adjust your world setting to make the chances of contracting the curse zero, can you please remove the curse from players who join that world. This is specific to solo players, Having a non removable de-buff with the spores being so darn hard to find is just incredibly poor game mechanics in a world that revolves around going into the shroud to do things.

neoblaze MergedIt is so debilitating to the gameplay and so weirdly hard to get undone it's so freakin stupid.
When adding mechanics to a game you think about a couple of things. One: Does it add anything to the gameplay? Yes, it does. It does add to the urgency of having to resolve the debuff. Two: Does it add to the fun factor of the game? No. It is just an annoying thing that you have to do, especially the first time it happens to you. I defeated two groups of shroud enemies above the shroud at night and did not get a single Fresh Shroud Spore, which left me bewildered and even more annoyed. This only adds to frustration, not fun.
I am now standing still in my base waiting for night to come to try to find more random groups of enemies to undo this stupid thing. -
