It would be nice if the waterfalls had a force component to them to pull you over. I can swim up a waterfall, which is pretty trippy. -

MopToddel MergedThere are things that motivate people to engage.
a few examples :D
Intrinsic motivation:
Creativity & Feedback
enable the player to make decisions /this happens a lot, skill tree, character development, look)
Power-ups, like the food buffs and potions
definitely the whole building aspect (maybe remove the altar limit or increase it)
Social Influence & Relations
Community with comments, following, build competitions etc.
Guilds
Group Quests
Campaigns / Raids
PVP
Curiosity & Unpredictability
Add choice to some actions or events that branches in two ways, blocking the path not taken (loss & Avoiding consequences)
Events that don't match the thought pattern - sudden new greetings by the NPCs or the Villagers bursting into song on login.
sudden weather events
solar eclipse week
skeletons around the world come alive
some event is triggered by someth -

MopToddel MergedExtrinsic motivation:
Deficiency & Impatience
Events with a fixed date with special rewards and challenges
Collectibles
the Countdown Timers we have for shroud and hypothermia play heavily into this category
Property & Identification
Cosmetics
Leveling up Gear and Items
adjustable user interface
custom blueprints
Achievement & Development
Achievments, Badges,
Skill ups (like tree felling, mining fishing) increasing the skill of the NPCs
Progress bars :D
Leaderboards (i don't know, maybe for number of items placed or voxels built)
training your pets -

MopToddel MergedNeutral:
Epic Purpose & Calling
You can create a profile for your character, backstory and all
Adding Factions the player can decide to belong to (maybe with a questline) which fives you specific cosmetics and banners
Gain Titles for specific achievements
Loss & Avoiding Consequences
Losing Items (we got that, permanently if you want)
temporary / one time events fit this category too -

Sauerkraut MergedI find interacting with NPCs at my base frustrating at times. They either stand in doorways and when I try to interact with them I end up endlessly opening / closing doors or interacting with other things. Maybe a toggle to choose what type of thing you want to interact with, or if prioritise NPCs over doors or even use a different interaction button for NPCs. Also, I find sometimes they all crowd around my flame, which is especially frustrating as I can't then interact with them at all - game always prioritises the flame. This makes me sometimes even wait until night time, since then I can always find everyone nicely separated in their beds!
Also, I struggle to find NPCs and find that they randomly spawn in / out at times, so when I am working on a recipe it is frustrating that there is not an easier way to locate them. It isn't fun to run around for minutes in your base just to find an NPC. One thought I had was maybe a way to summon a specific NPC when you require them to you? -

Lorenzo MergedAfter playing the game from the start, the level of improvements you made so far is straight up astonishing, but I do think there's some edge that can be improved even more, here's a simple and direct list of the few that came to my mind:
-Teleports limitation: Using the altar as a mean to teleport -and that only- brings players to place them in different zones and not use them as inteded, adding a specific item to use as teleport could be far more direct and simple to remove/move.
-Exploration: Exploring the world as a not ranger class is far too slow. No double jump; Low stamina points; No glider advantages. It would be cool to have these QoL skills earlier and more accessible to every class, everyone deserves to run and jump :D.
-Rewards and experience: After playing a bit i reckon is far more rewarding to go out and mining, search for the known chest locations after a while and leave the monsters there. I think giving a bit more reward in Exp or item loot would be great. -

noarrrrPlease give us a heavy attack on each weapon. I know there is something like this for two handed weapons wenn you click slower but this is very unpredictable in combat Situations. A normal keybinded heavy attack for All weapon types would solve this. (For all because the one handed swords dont even have the slow click heavyattack)

DranguinidaeGetting pretty hefty frame drops when gliding and landing near water and new area, maybe that's just my pc acting up but im pretty steady 58-61 fps most the time, then drop to 38-42 fps occasionally while flying around/landing.
Walking near water, swimming in water, generally seems fine. -

GejvOn a first glance I have no idea what has been done to the water pouch and pots, ovens and cooking station. Really UX confusing.
I also lost my shield after update....
Plus somehow i cannot find anymore my server, searching is somehow glitched.
Not good start so far -

NateIs it the intent of the developers that the game be multiplayer only?
I know there is a private mode, but they keep pushing for the game to get more challenging and there doesn't appear to be scaling for the number of players. I know that I could "get good" but rather than adding scaling and making targeted adjustments, it seems like the preference is for broad brush adjustments. I regen health less now, gliding disengages differently now, and enemies hit harder now. I already can't see well in the fog and when I die is is usually because I am lost. Once dead, my shroud timer doesn't reset on death, which is plain annoying, and my stamina follows suit. -

Freyja MergedThis game is truly wonderful and has incredible potential!
I’d love to see an update where all decorative objects — like vases, paintings, or other world items — can be picked up and used freely. It would make exploration and creativity even more engaging.
More decorative elements in general would also be fantastic to expand the building and customization options.
One major suggestion: the player character model could be improved. Right now, the body proportions look a bit cartoonish or “smurf-like”, not quite human or realistic.
If you were to introduce more anatomically realistic character models, it would take the entire game to a whole new level of immersion and artistic depth.
Despite that, it’s already an amazing experience — please keep developing it further, it truly deserves it! -

SaruWhy'd you have to go and change elixir the way you did? I agree that the 30% damage buff was too much but changing it to only be useful against fell enemies makes little sense, thematically. Why would the Elixir, the catalyst to pretty much everything that is wrong in Embervale, only be useful against fell enemies? Weren't there wars fought over it?
A quick change from 30% to 15% would've already been fine in the short term.
A long term solution I'd love is to integrate the Elixir into the core progression, allowing us to incrementally improve it as we unlock more materials and recipes. Starting out with, maybe, a 5% buff because the early elixirs were of poor quality and we gradually improve upon it.
Just my 5 cents to the whole nerf/change, not a deal breaker but it does feel off to say the least. -

Michael MouseThe boss fight was very underwhelming especially coming off the back of the fel dragon youngling in the previous biome - it felt like a reskinned version of the skeleton cyclops and fell right over even though I'm only lvl 31... and I find it very strange that you didn't have to go through all the 'water gear' quests (e.g. flippers, diving gear etc) in order to get to that boss fight, and if I'm not mistaken things like the flippers are actually locked behind shroud you need to kill the boss to get to in the first place... Feels like the update/biome is lacking a true capstone encounter

ArtWell, fishing has the most counter-intuitive interface I've ever seen in any fishing interface, and I've played more than 20 games with fishing in it.
Not sure how you managed to make something that is neither fun nor logical, but you did it.
What does the green mean? What does the red mean? When are you supposed to reel it in? There's no indicators for anything.
I did EXACTLY the same thing four times:
1) get the fish on the line.
2) move the fishing rod left and right.
3) at some point, randomly, press the LMB to reel it in.
4) three times, I did not catch a fish. one time, I did.
I have no idea how I caught a fish, nor how to do it again. It's just terrible. The on-screen "help" offers no help at all. If you do what it says, it sometimes lowers the red bar, and sometimes doesn't. Mostly, it doesn't. So.. are you supposed to do what the help says or not? Hell if I know.
I'll put it this way. This fishing system, as is? Worse than FO76 fishing, and that's saying something. :D -

splootFor the keyboard bindings it doesn't let me bind my "9" key anymore, saying it is conflicting and bound to "Hot Bar Slot 9". However there is no way to remove/change the "hot bar slot 9" since it doesn't show up on the bind menu at all given there are only 8 hot bar slots in the game. For context my partner and I have our "9" key on our side mouse button to use it much easier during combat -- we have it bound to certain combat actions. It worked perfectly before the update and now it doesn't work at all due to the conflicting bind on "hot bar slot 9" which we cannot edit at all.

IczerSigmaNot sure if this is the correct place for this but..
Wanted to say the water looks absolutely amazing! you guys again knocked it outta' the park.
So far, the game is running flawlessly on my machine.. no bugs.
Thank you to the whole Keen team! -

PotatI like water, but I hate swimming so much (like in any other game), because it is clumsy and you always get stuck in things due to imprecise controls (and it cannot be precise with WASD and mouse).

HiemisOverall incredible update, here just some things I noticed from the first 2 hours of playing:
1. The iron Double Door no longer makes a sound when opening or closing it, the normal iron Door is fine.
2. Noticed some floating structure pieces, example: city wall right by the flame shrine in pikemead
3. The interact button of secret doors seems to have moved, I can pick them up normally but to open them they need to be accessible from up top so any walled in secret door cannot be opened by me right now?
4. Something that was a niche issue before but now I think should be pointed out: The light ring doesn’t work well in tight spaces, or the shroud. When the tunnel is too small the light is behind the wall since the ring seems to create an invisible light emitter besides the player, so the player and tunnel is dark, which now with the small water tunnels I found is unfortunate, while in the shroud the ring creates a bright bloom effect that reduces visibility to oblivion… -

AetherealglowPlease make bathtubs and sinks able to be drained or filled with water by clicking on them.
Please make the wall-mounted water source placement more fine-tune-able (I can never seem to get it centered on a wall)
How about craftable spouts that can go around the source to make it fancier, like a lion's head or something, the way fountains do?
A nicer bamboo/tropical wood bed would also be nice -

beeskiUnderutilized GPU - Low Performance.
5090, 9800X3D. 32GB, 3440x1440
Newest driver, full reinstall of game, latest Vulkan, shaders recompiled (x2) different saves etc
Low FPS with max settings - 40-80. Marginal improvement with mid-low settings, still low minimums below monitor VRR range causing judder/stutter.
Game is constantly below 60% utilization (under 300W power draw) (checked max power setting in control panel) -

BluSleeperMy laptop has a 4070 and I expected the water update to run fine. All my other games run great but inside tall structures in water areas everything slows to a crawl even in the lowest settings.
One solution is to only enable water dynamics starting at a certain distance and restricted by what is viewable on screen. I notice that even if you are in a structure but surrounded by water it is computing the surroundings even if outside viewing range. This is too taxing and unnecessary. I wonder why some simple workarounds were not implemented. I'm sure there are reasons but I can't help but think some integral things were overlooked. Other than the huge performance drop, the update is great. Hope you get this fixed soonest for us to enjoy smooth gameplay. -

Call The BannersWas hoping to see an update to the dye system to allow for metal to have its color changed. Currently, I can change the color of the fabrics, leathers, and gems on my gear but metallic parts remain unchanged by dye.
Painting metal is common enough and was done in our own middle ages. Outside of that, let us tweak the material color by using other metals perhaps? I just wanna mix and match my gear but I cannot get a cohesive look when there's brass, iron, hole, and silver metal colors. -

MartyRefilling water from a well into a pouch is extremely awkward. I had to circle around the well to find a certain spot that would let me do that.

MaxThe mission progression was already a little wonky when playing with friends, but after the update it is absolutely broken to the point it is just aggravating to try to complete missions as a group. Currently my group of three is experiencing this: All players collectively do an Embervale quest, all players are together during entire quest, but upon "completion" only one player gets the final tick for the quest, one player's quest gets sent to "missed" and the third players quest goes missing altogether (not in missing or completed). This has completely ruined the experience of a game I have over 350 hours committed to. Turns out a 10 day release delay was not adequate. Please fix this hot mess.

HaruDSXSo far, I have noticed that at times when using the new Firebolt spell even at close range, it will miss the target completely as if the hitbox was wrong. I have tried with all spells just to confirm, and it is the only one that does it since the update.

JkarDaylily seedlings mature into taros. More than that, the moment a daylily sedling gets placed it gets converted to a taro seedling. Great for growing taros, bad for daylily cultivation.

MistyThis update makes the pinned recipes text ui look small on my screen. Maxing out the ui text size just makes the rest of the hud look huge, and the pin still looks terrible. Also, when ui text is maxed out the pin covers the prompt to open the journal for quests.

LibertyWonderful update, runs a treat, so exciting to take my time and wander around exploring, thanks so much :)
Edit:
Night time is a LOT darker now, it used to glow, now it's a lot more black (for want of a better way of describing it). -

djhracer7Please make it so we can dive anytime not just above water. Currently you can only dive if you are heading upward from a jump, and above water...
But I'd love to dive off cliffs and even dive from a glide. No water required. And also so I can dive from super far up into water. You can't even dive off the ancient spire in the zone cause its "too high up" to dive. Yet the ancient spire is the perfect place to dive! I tested it and you can glide from a dive, and if you don't glide and hit the floor your character still rolls out of it. No reason not to let us hit the dive button anytime that I can think of.
Maybe someday add the ability to do flips mid-dive too? -

Kilo MergedThe recent regen changes feel like they’re missing the mark in terms of impact. Many of us were already relying on potions, food, and buffs during combat, so the new system doesn’t really change how fights play out, it just slows down the recovery after the battle.
Right now, it feels like we’re being punished between fights, either by sitting around waiting for bars to refill or burning through resources that we’d rather save for actual combat. It's just downtime.
My suggestion is for a toggle between the old and new system in difficulty settings.
Easy/Classic mode using the old values for those of us who do not enjoy the changes.
Normal/Hard for those who found the base survival loop a bit too easy and want more punishing gameplay.
Thanks for listening, and for building something so wonderful and full of care and heart. -

RaelcunomrehtNew loot tables might have some issues. Just pulled a 35/40 legendary short sword out of a golden chest in the hunter vault.
Also... seeing a lot more rare/legendary drops, but also seeing more rare/legendary weapons than common weapons. -

ShadeGalaxy0997Let us build in the Cromville Throneroom. It's such a beautiful castle and has one of the best views in the game. We can rebuild and take over so many ruins. Why not this one too? The best one.

DoomhamatimeLove the food re-balance but so far however,
I see little reason to start using veilwater food (except maybe sushi). for a 3 percent increase to magic damage I lose mana regen entirely. Same is true of the stam regen on melee and ranged food.
This pretty much tanked my desire to try and farm new food materials. -
12 Nov, '25
DoomhamatimeNew Weapons have much lower base damage than old ones. Not sure if this is specific to new veilwater weapons I haven't looted any new summit weapons. Not sure if this is intended as part of the general weapons overhall.

RobertHey,
I like your update very much. The swimming animation is looking great but a little difficult, the new props (especially the plants) are fantastic.
The only downside is the performance. My girlfriend and I haven't a high Ende PC (her: i5 9gen+rtx3060ti-16gb RAM4;me: i7-10gen, rtx3070-32gb RAM; both in fhd) and in the new biom her PC lags, the other areas are fine. -

MerleI know, my feedback isn´t gamebreaking but i wanted to get it of my chest :-)
First of all i LOVE the new update! Thank you for this amazing Game! Yes, i have lags too from time to time with the new update (especially at the Spire) but what dissapointed me a litte was the new furniture. I love to make my Base as cozy as i can but most of the furniture are giving highly uncomfortable vibes :-( just a few cushions would already solve that problem :-) otherwise i didn´t encountered any problems so far :-) -

VictoryaI have just a little feedback. The text for the sign... it definitely demands attention as soon as you come closer, but sadly not in a good way. I would prefer if it wouldn't stand out like that. Everything they include shows love, but this ... how about the text would look like you brand it into the wood of the sign or at least less outstanding like a neon advertisement. But still a great game, I will play for years, with or without using the sign.

GenoLove how water is implemented, absolute respect to the engine team for that one.
- Can we revert some of the magic nerfs? More sources of crit chance, maybe also un-nerf acid bite and give it a vertical hitbox? It still more often than not deals only one instance of damage, and the VFX does not match the actual area, which is way smaller. Also enemies can close distances so fast, it makes barely any difference if we use magic or melee now.
- Some of the new dungeons, especially tombs, are super difficult to navigate, they have zero waypointing or identifiers and feel like a copypaste
- Great swords are great, melee is just meta now
- The grind for passion flowers and pearls took to long to upgrade the flame, please adjust the numbers. I'm running double resource gain and it still felt bad
- Why is there no eternal fire bolt? Out of all spells staves were missing the fast one is not available -

BuzzkillThe new mechanic for filling waterskins is not intuitive. I had to go to Discord and ask how to do it. If the player has an empty skin, it should give an option to fill the skin. Having to move it to my hotbar, then highlight it, then click on the well. Continue clicking on the well until it finally starts to fill is a pain. Then repeat the process with the second skin? When I click on a well, just ask me if I want to fill an empty skin. I get that you don't want us using wells to create an unlimited supply of waterskins.
The blue circle, when I try to fill my waterskin, flickers so much I'm not sure what it is supposed to do.
The new Firebolt spell is nice. But resin is still scarce. Perhaps consider planting some extra maple trees in the tutorial area, and for new players, include a note in the description that the maple trees have a higher chance of dropping resin.
several times with the correct configuration and it still didn't fill until like the 7th click.
